Episode 10

NARRATOR: The big day had finally arrived, and Alejandro waited at the altar with the scant crowd that included his bride's family, a few friends of his grandfather, and naturally, his best friend Mariano was there as the best man.

It was to be a private ceremony since Alejandro didn't want the press to find out. His grandfather accepted this without any obsession. Had it been up to Alejandro, he would have opted for a simple civil wedding without any guests, but his grandfather was in charge, leaving him no choice but to marry in the church.

ALEJANDRO was furious because his grandfather hadn't had the decency to inform him that he was to be married that week; instead, he was notified just the day before. So, there was nothing he could do but cancel all his plans, as he was now to have his famous wedding.

ALEJANDRO: Why is it taking so long? I detest tardiness. Or perhaps she's had second thoughts about marrying. That would be the best wedding gift I could ever receive.

...NARRATED BY MARIANO**:...

Hello, I'm Mariano Lombardo, 25 years old, the best friend of Alejandro Macolis. Tall at 1.80 meters, with brown hair and blue eyes, we've been friends since elementary school, but more like brothers. I'm a hacker, the best – no one escapes me, well, almost no one. For over three years, someone has run one of the most renowned computer firms globally, known only as the ??? Even I haven't managed to ascertain if they are male or female. They are very good at what they do, which is why I don't get along with Alejandro's girlfriend - though she doesn't know it, I'm aware she has a lover. I haven't wanted to tell Alejandro because I know he won't believe me without proof, but soon enough, time will come to unmask her. When Alejandro told me he was getting married, I thought he had lost his mind. But when I learned who he was to marry – the young woman chosen by his grandfather – I felt at ease.

Today is the wedding day. It can't be as bad as Alejandro has described, right?

MARIANO: How can you say that? Even if you can't see it now, this is the best decision your grandfather could have made. Do you really think if your grandfather wasn't sure the young woman he chose was right for you, he would have chosen her at all? Come on, friend, look on the bright side. Who knows, you might fall in love with your wife and finally see through ANGELA’s facade, who has completely blinded you. I know she's beautiful, but you've been deceived far too much... Mariano realizes he's said too much.

ALEJANDRO: What are you trying to imply? - queried Alejandro - I have a feeling you want to tell me something but are hesitant. Do you know something I don't? Speak up (he demanded, seriously).

MARIANO: No, friend... (but Alejandro didn't let him continue).

ALEJANDRO: And how many times have I told you not to call my fiancee a gold digger? - Alejandro said, annoyed - and please stop spouting nonsense, will you? How could I possibly fall in love with the monstrosity that is going to be my "wife"?

NARRATOR: Before Mariano could respond, the church bell rang out, signaling the arrival of the bride. All eyes turned toward the door as Kiara entered on her father's arm, wearing the awful dress she had purchased days before and makeup that did her no favors.

...NARRATED BY KIARA**...

I woke up from a wonderful night's sleep, feeling calm and relaxed. After going shopping, I was so exhausted that all I wanted was to sleep. Thankfully, no one demanded to see the dress, which was for the best, so there'd be no time on the wedding day for second thoughts.

Days have passed since I bought the dress, and the wedding is tomorrow, so everything is ready for what I call "the circus."

Today is the day, and the anticipation hasn't let me sleep, not from typical bridal nerves, but the fact that from today on, I am a married woman. Only time will tell what fate has in store. Well, I've finished getting ready unseen by anyone, so now it's time to go downstairs and have my father's jaw drop to the floor (I look terrible, I know, but there's no turning back now...)

IN THE LIVING ROOM

*GERARDO* (father): KIARA\, THIS HAS TO BE A JOKE\, RIGHT? - he exclaimed\, very upset.
