Episode 8

...NARRATOR...

When ANGELA heard the voice of Alejandro, she was startled, fearing the worst, as he had never spoken to her in such a tone before. She thought he had found something out and was going to end things with her because, although she knew she wasn't a saint as she had led him to believe, she never imagined what he actually had to convey.

ANGELA: What's wrong, ALEJANDRO? Why are you talking to me like that? (Angela asked, uncovering herself and putting on her face of innocence, knowing well that with one look from her, he would forget whatever he intended to say; yet he remained serious) You have never looked at me like that before!!

ALEJANDRO: Honey, I've got something to tell you, and I hope you'll understand and support me, okay? I'm going to tell you, but I want you not to interrupt until I've finished speaking, okay? (he asked, still serious but with nerves on edge).

ANGELA: Yes, my love, always. Tell me what's wrong (Angela queried, feigning a caring smile).

ALEJANDRO: Well, you see, this morning I had a visit from my grandfather, and he told me I have to get married (he looked at ANGELA, whose smile vanished as he said), but I have to marry whomever my grandfather chooses, meaning he will pick my wife (he said carefully, awaiting her reaction).

ANGELA: WHAT? Tell me you're joking… What about us? Are you going to end things with me? (she said, her eyes brimming with tears).

ALEJANDRO: I'm not going to end things with you because I LOVE you. We just have to wait for two years, and then I can divorce, and you and I can marry without my grandfather interfering, but only if that's what you want. What do you say? (he looked at ANGELA, nervously awaiting her response).

ANGELA: Are you suggesting we become LOVERS…? Who do you think I am? If I do that, your grandfather will have even more reason to call me a gold-digger. Do you enjoy seeing me as just anybody? What sin have I committed other than loving you? (I can't believe that stupid old man would do that, but he won't have his way, Angela thought, pretending to cry while displaying innocence) But fine, I'll wait for you until your marriage arranged by your GRANDFATHER, who surely thought of your well-being, is over (With this, I have this fool, but I must wait, and then I'll have everything I want and deserve, haha).

ALEJANDRO: Oh darling, my grandfather is trying to separate us, and here you are, defending him. You don't know how relieved I am that you've accepted. I was afraid you'd leave me because you wouldn't want to feel like 'the other woman', but you can be sure you will NEVER be 'the other', agreed? (he said, showering her face with kisses).

ANGELA: But I ask you, never to sleep with her, okay?

ALEJANDRO: Of course not, I won't. Rest assured, I will never be unfaithful to you. Besides, as soon as I meet her, I'll tell her that my Heart loves only one woman and has only one owner, okay…
