Episode 7

ALEJANDRO: I can't do this to "MY" girlfriend, Grandpa (asserted Alejandro confidently).

GRANDFATHER: Well, if you won't do it, you'll lose everything, including your "precious" girlfriend. I don't think she'll stay with you after you tell her you're broke. What do you think she'll think when she learns you're a poor man? Do you believe she'll stay by your side? Tell me, do you really believe that? (his grandfather asked, clearly upset. It pained him to say these words to his grandson, but if there was no other way to change his mind, he had no choice but to threaten him).

ALEJANDRO: Grandpa, you can't be serious. Through hard work, I brought this company to number one in the country, and soon, the world. Plus, Angela loves me—no, I don't just believe it, I'm certain that she'd stay with me regardless of financial problems, because she loves me, not my money (Alejandro responded, both surprised and agitated by his grandfather’s treatment, unable to believe how far he'd go to force him into marriage with a stranger—undoubtedly a gold-digger in his eyes).

GRANDFATHER: I'm very serious, Alejandro, so it's your choice. I’ve given you the solution and as you've said, if ANGELA "loves" you as you claim, I see no reason for you not to accept. It's just two years, and after that, you can marry whomever you want (his grandfather stated).

ALEJANDRO: And if the person I choose to marry after those two years is Angela, you won't object to me being with her? (Alejandro asked resignedly, without a better option, unwilling to lose the company that he had worked so hard to elevate, inherited from his grandfather, then his father, and now him. He may be the CEO, but the owner was his grandfather, until the day he died).

GRANDFATHER: That's right; I will not stand in the way of you marrying ANGELA, provided you fulfill the marriage term (his grandfather replied, stern but pleased, knowing he had won).

ALEJANDRO: Alright, Grandpa. It shall be as you say (Alejandro agreed, with just one question lingering: How will I tell ANGELA? Will she wait for me for two years?).

GRANDFATHER: Excellent. Tomorrow there will be a dinner at your betrothed's house so that you can meet her. I expect you to behave and not to make a scene, so clear your schedule for tomorrow night. Goodbye, dear grandson (his grandfather left the office delighted).

ALEJANDRO remained in his office, gazing at the spot where his grandfather had exited. He tried to focus on his work to avoid thinking about the conversation with his grandfather, but it was impossible to concentrate as his mind raced with thoughts of how to break the news to his girlfriend. Tired of mulling it over, he grabbed his coat, instructed his secretary to cancel the remainder of the day’s appointments, and left the office, heading straight to his girlfriend's apartment—the one he had gifted her. Upon arrival, he exited his car, took the elevator to the top floor, and walked down the hallway to his girlfriend’s door. A bit anxious because he knew this visit could determine their future together, he knocked. After minutes that felt like hours, the door opened to reveal his stunning girlfriend, a blond with beautiful blue eyes.

...ANGELA Balcarce...

As soon as she saw him, she threw herself into his arms, kissing him before he could even speak. Alejandro didn’t resist, and their kiss deepened in intensity, culminating in them making love for the entire afternoon. Exhausted from their physical exertions, they fell asleep. Alejandro awoke around 10 p.m., saw his beautiful girlfriend sleeping naked, gave her a kiss on the back, went to the bathroom for his needs, and then noticed her awake, blushing as she caught him unclothed.
