Episode 14

NARRATOR: Kiara bid farewell to her family and then left with Alejandro. As they ascended to their reception, held in their honor upon arrival at their suite, they discovered a bed adorned with rose petals. In the corner, a table displayed two glasses, a bottle of champagne, and a tray of chocolate-covered strawberries.

Alejandro deemed the romantic setup foolish; however, Kiara forgot the entire world the moment she saw the strawberries. Since strawberries were her absolute favorite, she couldn't resist indulging in them—it would be a waste not to. She continued eating, ignoring her now-husband who watched her with a look of disdain that she hardly cared about, feasting as if there were no tomorrow.

Annoyed, Alejandro provoked her, saying:

ALEJANDRO: "Why do you eat as if you haven't eaten in days?" he asked, weary of the spectacle.

KIARA: "Mmm, because strawberries are my weakness. If you don't like watching me eat them with my terrible manners, then go find your perfect girlfriend and leave me to enjoy this nightmare," she replied disinterestedly, continuing to eat before adding, "Thank you."

ALEJANDRO: "You have no idea how much I wish I could do just that," he said.

KIARA: "Then go ahead, no one's stopping you. The door's right there—leave, and let me be. Trust me, I can manage perfectly well without having to gaze upon your handsome face," she said sarcastically, emphasizing her last words, "What are you waiting for? Your presence is spoiling my dessert."

ALEJANDRO: "I wish I could be with her right now, but my grandfather's will binds me here with you, watching you eat like that. No wonder you're overweight with how much you consume," he said bitterly, clearly annoyed at the forced marriage. "If I hadn't been compelled to marry you, perhaps I might have actually liked you—you were the first woman who didn't fall for my charms as your sisters and mother did. You think I didn't notice how they looked at me?"

KIARA: "Ha! Allow me to laugh at that! Overweight, me? Please, if I were you, I'd mind my words—you never know when you might regret them," she retorted with derision. "You should consider yourself lucky to be with me, but even if you were born again, you wouldn't have the chance—not in this life or any other," she sneered defiantly.

ALEJANDRO: "What do you mean by that?" he asked, his expression serious. "Are you hiding something? Tell me."

KIARA: "Nothing... I'm just saying, I hope you remember what you said one day," she remarked casually, stepping into the bathroom and locking the door behind her.

NARRATOR: Alejandro found it amusing that she had locked the door, as if he had any intention of following her in. However, he couldn't shake off what she had said about regretting his words—what did she mean by that? After pondering it over, he grew tired of thinking and decided to leave the room, resolving to deal with his grandfather should he find out. He left only a note on the vanity.

Alejandro went to his girlfriend’s apartment to spend the night and console her, sure she was feeling miserable. Upon reaching her place, he rang the doorbell. Angela heard the bell and anticipated Alejandro wouldn't leave her alone—her chance had come. To enhance her act, she applied menthol to her eyes so he would believe she had been crying all afternoon, thereby inciting guilt in him. Sure enough, as soon she opened the door, Alejandro perceived her disheveled appearance—clothes wrinkled, makeup smeared, and eyes swollen with sorrow. Struck by her vulnerability likened to fragile glass on the verge of shattering, Alejandro's heart sank with guilt for his role in her pain. She threw herself into his arms, crying like a child reunited with her mother after a long separation.

ANGELA: "Ale, you can't imagine how awful my day was. I thought about going to your wedding to see you marry another, but then I changed my mind because if I saw you there, I wouldn't have let you go through with it," she sobbed, tears still brimming in her eyes.

ALEJANDRO: "No more tears, darling. You know I didn't want to marry her, but my grandfather gave me no choice. Just remember it's only two years of agony and suffering. After that, I'll take you around the world as my wife, to make up for all that lies ahead," he said, his voice tender yet serious.
