True to Zhia's promise, upon collecting Luca and Lucia from their school, Zhia immediately took her twin children to one of the largest malls in the area to purchase a new computer for Luca.
The joy on Luca and Lucia's faces was evident, ecstatic about a mall trip with their mom.
Once inside the mall, Luca excitedly pulled Lucia into a sprint toward an electronics store. The store offered a range of computers, from older models to the latest releases.
"Mommy, mommy! I want that computer!" Luca exclaimed, pointing at a computer with zest.
"Which one, dear? This one?"
Zhia asked to confirm if she was holding the computer her son desired.
"Yes, Mom! I want that one." Luca responded, his eyes sparkling with impatience to try it out.
"Okay, just a minute, yeah? Mommy will ask the staff."
Zhia approached an employee at the store.
"Excuse me, miss!" Zhia greeted with a friendly smile.
"Yes, ma'am! How may I assist you?"
The employee was quick to provide excellent service.
"How much is the computer over there?" Zhia inquired directly.
"Oh, that's the latest model we have. It has the best design and specs of all the computers here, and it's priced at $2,999 after the promotional discount, ma'am!" The employee explained succinctly and clearly, especially regarding the price.
"What?! Can't the price be lowered any further?" Zhia boldly bargained.
"Sorry, ma'am! This is the lowest we can go, especially during a promotion. Otherwise, it could be up to $5,000 or even $7,000, ma'am." The employee elaborated.
"WHAT?!"
Zhia's eyes widened in shock upon hearing the original price. She hadn't envisioned computers being so expensive.
"Mommy, can I get that computer?" Luca approached his mom, unable to hide his eagerness, followed closely by Lucia.
"Of course, you can! There's nothing Mommy wouldn't give to you, sweetie!"
Unable to bear disappointing him, Zhia agreed to buy the computer.
"Yeah, thank you so much, Mom!"
Overwhelmed with happiness at getting a new computer, Luca hugged his mom tightly.
"You're welcome, love!" Zhia replied, sharing in her child's joy.
"Congratulations, big bro! On your new computer," Lucia joined in her brother's happiness.
"Thank you, Luci!" Luca then turned and embraced his sister.
"Miss, I'd like to purchase that one," Zhia told the employee, offering her credit card.
"Certainly, ma'am! We'll package it right away."
The employee accepted Zhia's card and started the purchase process, and once the transaction was complete, returned the credit card.
"Miss, can it be delivered to this address?" Zhia asked, handing over her home address.
"Of course, ma'am!"
The employee smiled and took the address details to arrange delivery.
After securing Luca's new computer, Zhia decided to take them for a stroll in the mall. Coincidentally, Noland and Julia were also in the mall at that time.
"Cano?" Julia murmured, unintentionally spotting a young boy resembling her son in his youth.
But the child Julia saw was not her son Rayden Cano Xavier; it was Luca Maverick, Zhia's son.
Driven by curiosity, Julia unconsciously followed the boy, leaving Noland, who was busy picking out a suit for a party later that night.
Realizing his wife wasn't by his side, Noland panicked and went searching for her.
Reaching the children's play area, Noland found Julia looking bewildered.
"Honey, what are you doing here? Why did you leave without telling me? I was so worried!" Noland said, embracing his wife.
"Look, Dad! Cano's over there!" Julia exclaimed, pointing toward the play area where she saw the young boy resembling her childhood son.
Yet the child had now disappeared.
"How could Cano be there? He's probably busy at the office," Noland dismissed, finding his wife's claim implausible.
"I really saw Cano there, Dad!"
Julia insisted she had seen their son playing there.
"That's impossible! Don't be ridiculous, Mom! How could Cano be playing like a little child now?"
Noland rejected the nonsensical idea, aware that their son was an adult possibly engaged in work.
"No, not the grown-up Cano, but Cano as a child!" Julia clarified.
"Mom, our Cano is an adult and soon to be married. How could he become a child again?"
Noland attempted to bring his wife back to reality by stating the facts.
"But... but..."
"Let's go home, Mom! You must be tired, seeing things,"
Noland had no desire to delve deeper and suggested they go home, thinking his wife wasn't well and was imagining things.
