A story from the past part 2

after sabrina was discharged from Jacob's office she went to see what Jin wanted to talk to her about.

"Sabrina- how are your injuries? are you feeling better?" Jin asked as he sat behind his desk. he only had 3 desk ornaments- a yellow puppy holding a sign on the top left, the words on the sign had long faded away leaving the puppy with little purpose, the next one was a little pumpkin with a face on it- next to the pumpkin was an interesting looking robot animals cartoonish head- it had blue fluffy ears with purplish tips- its face was this smooth almost touch screen type material- it was a black material and its digital blue eyes shined through.

Sabrina took note of these ornaments as she sat down in her seat across from Jin.

"my wounds have healed nicely- thank you Jin " sabrina said as she finally got comfortable in her chair

"excellent, Sabrina... Curiosity is a peaceful camp but we also have what you might call a task force" Jin explained

"a task force? what do you mean by that?" Sabrina asked

"within Curiosity there are four differnt ranks of this task force- I'll explain

rank 1- perseverance, this rank is like the privates, they handle small task like a small group of deads or even a few drifters.

rank 2- spirit, this rank is like the lieutenant's, they handle much larger jobs such as large groups of deads, or gang members like Riccis men getting to close to our territory.

rank 3- Curiosity, this rank is like the generals. only me and my sister Yoko are in this rank."

Jin explain

"wait what about the fourth rank?" Sabrina asked confused

"well the fourth one is our rank 0

rank 0- Sojourner, this rank has no members or purpose- I'll explain them later"

Jin finished

5 hours later----- current location: 3 miles off Curiosity------ near the crash site.

Sabrina was assigned to perseverance- their mission was to investigate the plane crashsite.

Sabrina noticed how the plane seemed to fall on a construction site- she could see a few of those big flood lamps that were bent by the aircraft as it hit the ground- the floodlights flickered as sparks came off them- illuminating the dark forest floor.

as the group got closer Sabrina heard something that shook her to her core- it was a growl, no not just one growl but a chorus of low growls almost undetectable yet still audible. Sabrina knew what it had to be- "Deads" she thought to herself "guys were in danger-" she said as she took a slow step back from the site-

"hmm what do ya mean bri?" one of the other guys said- they kept walking foward until they stepped on a twig. the crack of the twig was enough to turn the chorus of low growls into a concert of loud screams and roars- 10, 20, no maybe 100 or more deads leaped out of the crater made by the aircraft and pounced on the men- "DEADS!" sabrina yelled as she ran- some of the men ran with her- others turned around, trying to open fire into the large crowd too no avail-

as sabrina ran as fast as she could all she could think about was her first time seeing a dead- and how terrifyingly powerful they can be.

the day of the outbreak~

Sabrina was a delinquent- she skipped school and always hung out at the bar with her friends despite not being old enough to drink- she'd challenge the bartender to games like darts and cheat using battle focus- that's how she always got free drinks.

"hey bri bri- I got my money on you! I'll bet you'll knock that dude till he crys like a bitch!" said one of the dudes in the bar

"you bet man!" Sabrina replied as she took her seat on one of the barstools

"Sabrina- hows my loyal- underaged customer doing on this fine day" the bartender asked

"you still mad I always beat ya at darts?" Sabrina asked as she smirked

"I'm mad I keep having to give you free drinks- your not even 21 you shouldn't even be in here~" the bartender explained as they cleaned a cup

"hey man dont sweat it- I finally got paid after my last boxing match- here's some cash dog~" Sabrina said as she pulled out her fist full of cash

"hmmm~ ya know your uncle used to come here- he used to spend his boxing money on drinks for his friends too-" the bartender said

"Sabrina!" said a girl with light blue eyes- she wore a grey jacket that was unzipped and had a pink undershirt-

"angiee!" Sabrina said as she kissed the girl on the lips before she sat down next to her.

"so glad to see you again bri- my final exams were killing me~" Angiee said nervously

"meh don't sweat it babe- your the smartest girl I know- that's why I love ya so much shortie~" Sabrina said as she kissed Angiee on the cheek

"thanks bri- you always know just what to say~" Angiee said as she got a little closer-

Sabrina blushed a little- the two were about to connect lips again when.

BOOM!

they heard an explosion- it was so powerful it shook the bar, causing the two to almost fall out of their seats-

"shit dude turn the TV up!" said one of the dudes who was playing cards-

the bartender turned the volume up as they heard the news broadcast-

"Panic in the streets as a military helicopter- seems to have suddenly crashed into valentine high- we aren't sure of any fatalities at the moment but-" the news report said

"Hey bri! didnt you used to go to Val high?" one of the drunk dudes shouted

"hey shut up man- we're trying to listen-" said one of the other patrons

"hmmm? you got a problem wit me pretty boi?" the mans speech was slurred

"babe please dont- your drunk right now just sit down" said a girl as she tried to calm the drunk man-

"get out my face dumb bitch-" he said as he slapped her and threw his bottle at a wall- smashing the glass-

Sabrina stood up as she slowly approached the man

"hmm- what do you want Bri Bri~ don tell me ur gon fight me, Little girl" the man said he flicked Sabrina's forehead.

"to awnser your question, ben- yes I did use to go to val high- there was a teacher there who was all talk- so I tought him a lesson he'll never forget- after that fight I was suspended" " ya know ben- Your starting to remind me of him- he was a peice of shit like you- no one else knew it but he would always get drunk when he got home, he'd beat his wife and his only daughter-" Sabrina explained as she took a deep breath in "so I'll teach you the same lesson-" She said "ah- shut it ya dumb bitch your all talk!!" the man said as he threw his punch,

Sabrina was already above him- she had leapt into the air before the man even threw his punch and she was still airborne- white smoke gushed from the sides of her mouth as she kicked him in the back of his neck- knocking him out- she landed on her hands and feet and stood up straight as the smoke dissipated.

"please turn up the volume again" sabrina said as she looked at the bartender

he turned the TV up louder

"it appears as tho this body was dropped from the helicopter moments before it crashed- the mans body is still moving- he- HES ALIVE! the man who was dropped from the aircraft is somehow still alive-" "w-wait no hes!-" the screen cut to static as screams could be heard in the background.

"what the hell" one of the patrons said "a-are we going to die?" another said "shut up! no ones dying!" someone else yelled. suddenly a body was thrown threw one of the windows in the bar- screams erupted as the body laid flat on one of the tables~ it started spazing before leaping up and biting someone on their ear, ripping it off as they screamed in pain-

"what the hell-" Sabrina said as the thing turned to look at her, "shit" she thought to herself as she put her guard up- it lunged at her

"no!-" angiee yelled as she pushed sabrina out of the way- the infected man grabbed angiee instead and ripped her to shreds as sabrina watched in terror- "NOOOOOO! YOU BASTARD" Sabrina yelled as she reached in her back pocket and pulled out her pistol and aimed it at the creature- with tears running down her cheek she opened fire on it "GIVE HER BACK!" Sabrina yelled as tears kept flowing down her face-.

present day

Tears rolled down Sabrina's cheek as she ran as fast as she could- all she could hear was the screams of the deads chasing her- as she felt her stamina fleeting she saw something in the clearing- it was a car! an old abandoned car- Sabrina bet her life on it for a chance to catch her breath- she ran to it and yanked on the handle to no avail- "come on damnit!" Sabrina said as she yanked harder with tears rolling down her cheek. she had tried each door but nothing budged- just as she was about to turn and accept death- she noticed something- the trunk was open- not by much just a crack barely even noticable but it was open.

Sabrina went to the back of the car and with a mighty yell she put every ounce of strength she had into her arms and the trunk flew open!

she hopped in and slammed the trunk shut just as a dead was about to leap in after her~

she was safe.

all she could hear was the sounds of the deads swarming around the car- their screams echoing through her mind, they banged on the car throughout the night.

"d-damnit brock, why did you have to get hurt like that- Why cant you be here right now DAMNIT!" she yelled as she curled up trying to get comfortable in the dark trunk.

"I-I just want to see you again~" sabrina said as she let out a whimper as tears began flowing- she sniffled and tried to wipe the tears as they fell but to no avail.

she eventually cried herself to sleep~

the next morning...

Sabrina awoke to the suns light peering through the cracks in the trunk- she didnt hear the deads anymore- "they either lost interest or forgot what they were doing entirely" Sabrina thought to herself.

she tried to kick the trunk open but it wouldn't budge- "damnit!" she yelled as she pull out her knife and cut a hole leading to the backseat. she climbed into the backseat and unlocked the door.

she stepped outside and enjoyed the sunlight for a little while.

as she began making her way back to Curiosity she heard something- a stick broke

"shit is it a dead? no cant be I would have heard their growls by now- must be a person" she thought to herself...

"I'm being stalked" she said~
