Elisyan stares at the bracelet on the table, her fingers hovering over the velvet box. A smirk tugs at her lips as she picks up the note again.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
Wear this, and I’ll know you’re thinking of me.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
(Her smirk fades slightly)
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
Rafael was playing his own game. And so was Evan.
A soft knock on the door pulls her from her thoughts. She doesn’t need to ask who it is.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
Come in, Leo.
Leo vin [Assistant]
(Leo steps inside, his gaze flicking to the bracelet before settling on her)
Leo vin [Assistant]
You’re enjoying the attention, aren’t you?
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
Should I not?
Leo vin [Assistant]
Depends on whom it’s from.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
(She chuckles, setting the bracelet down)
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
You didn’t come here to gossip. What is it?
Leo vin [Assistant]
(Leo hesitates for a second before speaking)
Leo vin [Assistant]
Evan’s watching you more closely now.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
(Elisyan leans back, crossing her legs)
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
He already was. This just makes it more fun.
Leo vin [Assistant]
Be careful. He’s dangerous.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
And I’m not?
Leo vin [Assistant]
(Leo sighs, running a hand through his hair)
Leo vin [Assistant]
That’s not what I meant. You know what happens when someone gets too close to him.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
(Elisyan studies him for a moment before speaking softly)
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
I know what I’m doing, Leo.
Leo vin [Assistant]
I hope so.
Leo vin [Assistant]
(He turns to leave but pauses at the door)
Leo vin [Assistant]
Oh, and Rafael sent another message. He wants to see you tomorrow.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
(Elisyan raises a brow, amused)
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
Tell him I’ll think about it.
Leo nods and exits, leaving her alone with her thoughts.
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
(She picks up the bracelet once more, running her fingers over the cold diamonds)
Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]
(Then, slowly, she puts it on)
Evan sits on the edge of his bed, elbows on his knees, fingers laced together.
His mind replays the scene in Elisyan’s study the way she toyed with the bracelet, the way she challenged him with her eyes.
Evan/Ethan [ASSISTANT]
(A soft chime from his phone breaks the silence)
Leo vin [Assistant]
[Message] "She put it on,"
Evan/Ethan [ASSISTANT]
(Evan’s jaw tightens. His fingers press into his palms)
Evan/Ethan [ASSISTANT]
So that’s how you want to play it, Elisyan?
Evan/Ethan [ASSISTANT]
(He exhales slowly, standing up and grabbing his jacket)
Evan/Ethan [ASSISTANT]
Two can play this game.
