When Elisyan stirred awake, the first thing she noticed was the softness beneath her. Not her office chair. Not the cold floor.

A movement caught her eye.

At the far end of the room, a figure stood with his back to her, gazing out the large window overlooking the city. His posture was rigid, controlled. Almost too controlled.

I don’t recall inviting you into my home.
