Did She Ever Love Me? Episode 10

Elisyan stood still, her arms still crossed as she watched Evan’s figure disappear down the hallway. His presence lingered in the air, a storm barely contained. She let out a slow breath, amusement and curiosity swirling in her mind.

But before she could dwell on it further, a familiar voice echoed through the mansion.

kian chris [SON]

Mom!

Her heart warmed instantly. Turning toward the entrance, she saw kian sprinting toward her, his small feet tapping against the marble floors. Behind him, Liam Carter followed at a more relaxed pace, hands tucked into his pockets, his usual easy-going smile in place.

Elisyan knelt just in time to catch kian in her arms, his tiny frame pressing into her as she embraced him tightly.

You’re back! I missed you, sweetheart.

kian chris [SON]

(Smiling) I missed you too, you know.

kian chris [SON]

After playing basketball.. We went to amusement park.

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

(Elisyan chuckled, brushing a hand through his soft hair) That sounds amazing. Did you scream?

kian chris [SON]

(kian puffed up his chest)

kian chris [SON]

Only a little! But Uncle Liam screamed louder than me!

Liam carter [FL FRIEND]

(Liam let out an exaggerated groan, rubbing his temples)

Okay, that’s a lie. I was just… uh, testing the acoustics.

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

(she smirked, standing up as she glanced at him)

Testing the acoustics, huh? Sounds like you had a great time, kian.

kian chris [SON]

(kian nodded enthusiastically)

kian chris [SON]

And we had so much food! But Uncle Liam said I couldn’t eat too many sweets because you'd get mad.

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

(Elisyan shot Liam a knowing look) Smart man!!!

Liam carter [FL FRIEND]

(Liam held up his hands in surrender)

I know better than to get on your bad side, Elis.

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

(She shook her head fondly before turning her attention back to her son)

I’m just glad you’re safe and happy. Did you behave well?

kian chris [SON]

(kian nodded quickly) Yes! I was good, promise!!

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

(She cupped his cheek, smiling softly) That’s my boy.

Liam carter [FL FRIEND]

(As they spoke, Liam took a step closer, his eyes studying her) You okay? You look... tense.

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

(Elisyan raised a brow) Do I?

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

Must be the weight of running an empire.

Liam carter [FL FRIEND]

(Liam crossed his arms) Or maybe something else?

She tilted her head but said nothing. Instead, she glanced toward the hallway where Evan had disappeared, her mind drifting back to the way he had looked at her, the way his grip had tightened around her wrist.

(He followed her gaze, his easy-going demeanor shifting ever so slightly)

(Elisyan turned back to him with a small, unreadable smile)

Nothing you need to worry about.

Liam didn’t look convinced, but before he could press further, kian tugged at Elisyan’s hand.

Mom, can we eat dinner now? I’m starving!

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

(Elisyan smiled down at him)

Elysian Chris [FEMALE LEAD]

Of course!! Let’s get you something delicious.

Liam carter [FL FRIEND]

As she led kian away, Liam’s gaze lingered on her, thoughtful and slightly wary.

And in the distance, hidden from sight, Evan watched the scene unfold, his expression dark and unreadable.
