Caspian wasn't dead, like what Kaya and Clover thought. Actually, he was close to dying, since nearly all of his organs were punctured and he was losing too much blood. Blood came out of his mouth as he coughed. He stared at the ceiling, a specific life-changing scene flashing before his eyes.
Five years. That was how long it was since had last seen his best friends. Finally, he was able to clear his hectic schedule and made the time to meet Leo and Theo. The three had agreed to meet in the playground in front of their old high school, the place where they used to meet every day. When Caspian's limousine rolled in, the first thing he saw were two heads of blue hair.
"Look, it's Caspian!"
Caspian stepped out of the car, bodyguards standing around him, which was intimidating for Leo, the youngest of the three, who had now grown to be as tall as Caspian. Theo, however, had stopped growing around three centimeters below their height.
"Why didn't you dye your hair, Caspian? Look, Theo and I already did!" Caspian glanced at Theo, who was giving him a glare. It was obvious that the latter knew what the former's plans were.
"I'm not planning to."
"Huh? But you promised-"
"Promises are meant to be broken, Leo."
There was a silence. Theo kept glaring at Caspian, who was returning daggers, while Leo stared at both of them in confusion.
"W-Well, we should get going, huh? Hey, Caspian, we should visit your favorite bakery shop--"
"Leo." This time, it was Theo who stopped him. "Caspian isn't here to hang out with us." Theo glared at Caspian once more but this time, there was an immense anger burning in his eyes and Caspian himself was surprised to see it. "Caspian, why don't you tell Leo why you're really here?"
Caspian sighed and ordered his bodyguards to step aside before he walked towards the two.
"...I'm a son of a politician now. I only hang around with certain people. You two... don't meet the requirements. Someone like me, who is from an influential family, can't be seen around commoners. I came to say goodbye. From now on, we don't know each other."
Tears started flowing out of Caspian's eyes as he recalled his own words. He didn't know what had convinced him to do such horrible things and now he regretted it. Till this day, Theo's last words were burned into his brain.
"I see that all the fame and money finally got to you, Caspian. One day, you'll realize your mistake and when you do, it will be too late."
Caspian thought he was stupid, just like what Sam said. He was stupid for trading off his friends for reputation. He was stupid for dyeing his hair blue the day after he broke his friendship with Leo and Theo. He was stupid for thinking that he didn't need anyone else in his life. Now that Caspian went through his life, he had realized something. He didn't live.
"If I can only turn back time..." Caspian laughed, drops of blood coming out of his mouth as he did. "That's impossible. Maybe I can be a much better person in my next life.." With that, Caspian closed his eyes with a smile, accepting his fate and Caspian's gem was activated.
Every room in the house had it's own bathroom. The one in Caspian's room, in particular, had the most equipment, the biggest bathtub, strongest shower head, etc. The main pipe, which was located beneath the concrete wall, burst, creating a hole, the water seeping out. It was the same for the bathtub's faucet, the sink and the shower head. Even water from the swimming pool magically crawled through the tiles and entered the house through the gap under the doorway.
Soon, the room Caspian was in became filled with water, like a miniature swimming pool. As soon as the water touched his wounds and injuries, they were healed, as if nothing even happened. Then, some water flowed into Caspian's mouth, going down his throat and towards his heart. With a loud gasp, Caspian opened his eyes, which were now glowing bright blue, just like the gem that was resting on his chest. Caspian could only say one thing.
"What the hell?"
Caspian was confused, since he woke up, even though he was sure that he had already died. It didn't help that water, which had somehow gotten into the room, was surrounding him. He looked down at his stomach, expecting to see a big bloody hole but instead saw his own skin, which was exposed by his ripped shirt. With wide eyes, he poked his own stomach, wondering if he was looking at an illusion or not. Then, he noticed the gem of his necklace, which was usually grey but was now glowing bright blue with a foreign letter engraved into it.
...Water....
Caspian, then remembered that he had a mirror in his room so he faced it and surprised himself. His normally brown eyes were as blue as his gem and he just noticed that the water surrounding him was now dancing around his fingers which completely defied the laws of physics.
For a while, he just sat there and watched the water snake around his hand, his head slightly tilted to the side, just like a child watching a circus show. He, then raised his hand, the water floating above him in a circular form. He opened up his palm, the water gathering over his hand and turning into a water ball.
He had no idea why he knew how to control water, as if he was used to it, as if he always did it. He, then remembered Clover, who could control fire and had a similar red gem.
What was going on?
Caspian was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a roar from the hallway. He remembered Sam, who was taken over and was now a monster, which made him grit his teeth. With blue eyes full of determination, he stood up, his fists balled. The water around him started to float, which was a reaction towards his anger. He knew what he had to do.
Clover was having a difficult time against the monster and it didn't help that he had an injured leg. His flames didn't affect the monster at all, as if it was immune but he didn't want to think that way. Kaya, on the other hand, was still trapped in a tentacle and was being thrown around like a sack, which gave her the sensation of throwing up.
"Kiya, help me!" she stopped herself when she felt her lunch crawling up to her throat and put both of her hands over her mouth.
"I can only do so much and heal you, Kaya." Kiya said with a flat tone. "I'm dead, non-existent, only present in your mind. I can't use my magic on anything else but you."
"Then, give me strength or something!" She flailed around, ducking when accidentally threw a fireball at her. "Hey!"
"Sorry, Cow!" Clover screamed from below as he shot more fireballs, which just bounced off the monster's skin as if they were rubber balls.
"You're a guardian, Kaya." Kiya spoke after a moment of silence. "There's a reason why you were chosen." Kaya's eye twitched.
"What the hell do you mean?!"
"Think about it. "
