"You should at least eat something before you leave, Kaya."
Kaya ignored Kiya and slipped on a grey hoodie. She was in a bad mood, especially because this morning wasn't her best. First of all, Clover had stolen her watch and now she was like a blind man without it's stick. Second, she was so hungry that she could eat her own arm but she didn't have any money. Lastly, she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, literally and fell on the floor.
"Even if I do want to eat, I don't have any food nor the money." She snapped as she walked across the hotel room, the floorboards creaking with every step. It wasn't a five star hotel, sadly, instead it was something close to being called run-down. It was better than nothing.
Kaya made sure that her silver hair was in a bun and tucked it in under her hat before putting on her hood. While she was walking towards the door, her foot suddenly slipped through a hole in the floor, scratching her leg. Kaya groaned, both out of pain and frustration at how her room was slowly tearing apart.
"Are you okay?" Kiya asked in concern, although Kaya knew that deep inside, she really didn't care. Kaya wordlessly tugged her leg out of the hole and stared at the huge gash in her inner thigh. She flinched a bit at how much blood there and was starting to worry about treating it when purple mist suddenly wrapped around her leg. It was healed in a matter of seconds. Even though Kaya was used to all this supernatural stuff, Kiya's healing abilities still left her in awe.
"Thanks, Kiya I guess."
Kiya didn't reply. Kaya didn't need to hear one, to be honest. After making sure that her room was locked, she exited the apartment building and looked around. Without the watch, she had no idea how she was going to find Clover. She gritted her teeth and kicked a nearby pebble, the anger settling in her once again.
"You're starting to develop a bad temper, Kaya." Kiya said as Kaya continued kicking the same pebble while walking on the sidewalk.
"I just can't believe that Clover stole from me." she sighed and looked up, the brightness of the sun blinding her temporarily. "Even after I tried to help him."
"When I was still alive, I studied about you humans. Each of you have these emotions, correct? And reasonability. Maybe he did it for his own purpose." Kiya said like some kind of professor which, to be honest, creeped Kaya out. Then, she took her words in. Did that mean that her kind did not have any emotions?
"Stop talking about us like we're some kind of animal you research about." She said in a whisper as she passed by a couple who was displaying a little too much of their attention. Kaya glared at them, disgusted by how they were acting. Kiya didn't even apologize. Maybe she didn't really have any emotions.
After walking a few blocks, Kaya passed by a television store, the current channel catching her eye. It was a Spongebob, that one episode where they were in the past and everyone was a caveman. She couldn't help but remember the spongebob caveman meme, which made her smile a bit. Kaya stood there, sometimes laughing at the cartoon's ridiculousness and sometimes brainstorming about where Clover could possibly be. She unconsciously held her vacant wrist and sighed.
"I'm not from anywhere, actually."
"Maybe he did it for his own purpose."
"He said he's not from here so where would he take my watch?" Kaya mumbled as she watched giant Gary run over poor little Squidward. When she remembered the stones that Kiya added on the strap of her watch (for decoration, she claimed), her eyes widened. Being in a similar situation as him, she figured it out and snapped her fingers in victory.
"Of course. Why didn't I think of that?"
...******...
Clover stared at the sign of the pawn shop, Kaya's watch was still glowing watch in his hands. He was balancing himself on his skateboard, the wind blowing some strands of his hair, making him look like he was in some kind of photoshoot.
Pawn King. The only place where you'll feel like a king.
It was a horrible slogan, Clover knew and it was pretty shady too but it was the only pawn shop that was nearby. He didn't want to go somewhere far and risk running into Kaya. He could have gotten arrested and he didn't want to rot in jail. He glanced at his bracelet and now he was sure that something was swirling around inside the gem. He squinted his eyes and looked closer. There was definitely something in there, something alive, something color--
"Excuse me, sir?"
Upon hearing the voice, Clover snapped his head upwards and saw a man a white suit staring back at him. He was peeking through the door of the pawn shop and was giving him a smug look.
"The pawn shop is open sir." The man said blandly, as if he was reading a script. He definitely wasn't fond of his job. "You may come in."
Clover didn't even notice that the pawn shop was closed, since he stared at the sign as soon as he arrived. He stepped on his skateboard, flipping it and landing perfectly in his hands, before he entered the shop. The bell jingled as the door opened and the first thing he noticed was the shelf of antique jars. Some of them looked brand new while the others looked like they would break at the slightest touch. One jar, in particular, caught his attention. It was huge, almost as tall as him and it was at least as wide as a tire. He gulped, feeling uneasy, because it was big enough for a person to fit in it.
"Buy or pawn?"
Clover turned around and saw the employee sitting behind the counter, his fingers drumming on the wood impatiently. He silently walked towards him and pulled out the watch from his pocket.
"Pawn." He whispered and placed the watch on the counter. "How much is it worth?"
"It's a fake." The man said in a heartbeat, which made Clover scrunch his eyes in confusion. He was sure that it was a luxurious watch. However, it all changed when he saw Clover's bracelet.
"However, that bracelet, is priceless."
"This?" Clover raised his hand, showing off the bracelet and the man just stared. He had changed his mind on the way to the pawn shop and he wasn't planning on pawning it, well, he would if he needed to. "Sorry, I'm not pawning this."
"Sir, please understand." The man clawed at Clover's bracelet in desperation, making the latter draw his hand back in surprise. "It's one of the rarest bracelets in the world. The chain is made of pure gold and the gem. No words can describe the gem's worth."
"I'm not pawning it." he spat, the man's actions scaring him a bit so he took the watch and made his way towards the door. The bracelet was priceless obviously which was why he wasn't planning on getting rid of it any time soon. However, before Clover could step away from the counter, the man grabbed the hem of his jacket and tugged, both in desperation and anger.
"Give me the bracelet."
"No. Let go of me."
The man's actions were really starting to freak him out so he pulled his jacket and sprinted to the door. He just wanted to get out but his way was blocked when Kaya appeared at the other side of the glass door.
"Shit." Clover whispered under his breath as Kaya entered the shop, steam coming out of her ears.
"Clover, you lowly bastard." Anger seeping from her like soup from a pot and he just stared at her. "I try to help you and you steal from me?!"
"Look lady, I'm sorry, you can have your watch back." He threw the watch at Kaya which she almost didn't catch. Kaya stared at him with a raised eyebrow as he tried to find a way around her.
"Get out of the way and let me leave."
"You can't just leave after stealing from me." she spat and crossed her arms, not budging from her place which made Clover grunt in frustration.
"You're lucky that I didn't call the police on yo-" Clover, then grabbed Kaya's arm and pulled her towards him. He glanced at the employee before he leaned in, his lips nearly brushing against her ear and whispered.
"Listen to me. This guy, he's really creeping me out. He doesn't accept anything that I want to pawn and he really, really wants my bracelet. Please, just let me leave."
Kaya gulped and glanced at the man, who was now standing in front of the counter and staring at both of them. She didn't know what was going on but knowing that someone, no, something - had already found Clover and was after his bracelet, was definitely not a good thing.
"We need to leave." she said, taking a glance at the man once more, who was dangerously close to the giant jar at the side of the room. Although Clover was confused by her sudden agreement, he nodded.
"You don't have to tell me twice."
"You're not going anywhere."
Clover flinched when he felt hot breath at his nape. He nearly fell when he turned around and became face to face with the man.
"Give me the bracelet." The man grabbed his wrist tightly, nearly bruising him, his voice octaves lower.
"What the- Let go of me!" He tried pulling his arm off but the man's grip was just too tight. Neither Kaya nor Clover foresaw what happened next.
The man smiled, the skin of his face tearing, revealing multiple rows of sharp teeth. His skin turned to a palish white color, his eyes turning to black voids and tentacles sprouting out of his back like a flower. Clover froze as one of the tentacles started to wrap around his arm.
"Give me the bracelet." The man said, his voice sounding different, very demonic.

Given how foolish Clover is and doesn't know the worth of the bracelet, I might really expect him to give the bracelet. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS TO ME. IF THAT HAPPENS, I WILL OFFICIALLY TURN INTO A CLOVER HATER
