I will not sign the divorce!(Omegaverse)
The city's bustle at night was chaotic; for many, life began at nightfall.
Some people enjoyed the long night gathered in clubs, bars, with the pleasant company of their friends or partners; the unfortunate wandered the streets seeking to survive one more day; and some would work throughout the night to earn a living.
Amidst the city's hustle and bustle, a young man was squatting with his back against the wall, intently reading a small book.
He was taking a short break from his job at one of the city's most important clubs, squatting outside the back door in the company of trash cans.
"Wow, I would do anything with that much money, buy so many things," the young man expressed in awe as he read the book.
"How come these guys have so much money?" he continued, expressing his amazement.
The book in question was a novel.
One day, while returning from work in the morning, a teenage girl who was running in a hurry bumped into him, apologizing. The teenager ran off again in a hurry, as she looked rushed.
In the collision, the teenager had dropped a book from her backpack, so he picked up the book and ran after the girl to return it, but she had already disappeared into the crowd that was busily walking to their respective jobs.
He thought about what to do because maybe the teenager would need the book to continue her studies. He was tired, as he had just gotten off work and just wanted to go back to rest.
He skimmed through the book to see if it had the girl's name written on it so he could return it, but there was nothing.
He didn't take much interest in what it was written, since he hadn't finished high school and wouldn't understand the subjects the book dealt with.
But his interest was piqued when he saw the words money* and properties* written down. Curiously, he read a part of the book in the middle of the street.
"Alpha?" he uttered in confusion.
There were several words unknown to him, but he liked that this being called alpha seemed to have a lot of money.
He didn't read often, but it was easy to deduce that the book was about a light novel.
The title on the cover couldn't be seen as it was very well covered, maybe the girl was reading it between classes and covered it so as not to be noticed, he thought.
He closed the book and went back to the building where he rented a small room to continue reading the novel.
Even though he was tired, the young man read each page with interest.
It seemed to be a fantasy story with strange beings, alphas, omegas, and betas. He didn't take much interest in this matter and just focused on all the money, riches, properties, that this being called alpha, a wealthy man, had.
The plot was about a married couple who apparently had an arranged marriage, a loveless couple, and apparently this alpha had a lover whom he spoiled with all kinds of gifts. There are couples like that all over the world, the young man thought.
He was not bothered by the fact that the novel was about a married couple between men, he had seen many things up to this point in his life, so it was not a surprise.
He read over and over again the parts that detailed the gifts given by the alpha to his lover, gifts so expensive and beyond his imagination.
Even that alpha had given his lover an unlimited credit card to use as he pleased.
It was those parts of the novel that he enjoyed reading, how that lover bought whatever he wanted and the gifts that alpha gave him. He couldn't help but imagine what he himself would do with so much money.
That way, he would read the book in his spare time from work and when he returned to his room after a long day.
Now he was halfway through the story, squatting outside the back door of the building where he worked. He only had a few minutes left to finish his break, so he hurried to finish the chapter he was reading.
This part mentioned the omega husband of that alpha, a simple man who didn't spend a single penny of the money his husband had given him an equally credit card.
"What a fool, he should take advantage and buy whatever he wants," the young man opined in annoyance.
"I would," he added.
As he read, he came to an interesting part where it talked about the couple's divorce, he was astonished by the large amount of money the omega husband would receive after the divorce.
"Wow, I would live peacefully for the rest of my life with all that money."
At the end of his break, the young man put the book away in his backpack to continue reading it as soon as he got back to his room.
Unexpected events usually happen suddenly.
Just before entering the door, there was a great commotion coming from deep inside the alley.
The young man approached a little to see what was going on; fights like these always brought trouble to the club where he worked.
He cautiously approached, ready to ask his co-workers for help if the fight escalated. The confrontation didn't seem serious, but he stopped when he noticed that one of his co-workers was being attacked by three men.
He was going to help, only that the moment his partner noticed his presence, he shouted loudly while pointing at him.
"It's him! He has the money!" he shouted, getting the attention of the three men.
The attackers turned to look at him and one of them walked quickly towards him to grab him before the young man could react.
"He says you have our money, be cooperative and give us the money without any trouble," the man mentioned.
"I don't know what you're talking about, I don't have your money," the young man replied.
The man rubbed his face in frustration, grabbed the young man tightly, and threw him to the floor, giving him a hard kick to the stomach.
"You'd better give me my money, I'm not a very patient person," the nasty-looking man remarked.
The young man held his stomach in pain; that kick had knocked the wind out of him.
"Bro, check his backpack," said another of the men.
The backpack was emptied abruptly, an old cell phone, a few coins, a worn jacket, and a small book, was all that fell out of the backpack.
"There's nothing here, just trash!" shouted the man furiously.
"Listen to me carefully, if neither of you gives me my money now, I'm going to finish both of you off," threatened the man who had kicked him.
His partner, who was also on the floor, pointed at him again with a trembling hand.
"He... he has the money," he said cheekily.
The young man just looked at him in bewilderment, he didn't know him very well, but he wanted to help him and got caught up in this situation being accused by his partner.
Now angrier, the man grabbed the young man by the hair, making him stand up.
"Where's my money?" he asked impatiently.
"I don't know, I don't know anything," the young man replied.
"Ha, I'm losing my patience," the man snorted.
This situation would get worse if he didn't do anything, in the distance you could hear the voices of people walking nearby, taking courage, the young man began to shout with all his might asking for help, an action that caused him to be beaten by the men.
Amidst the blows, he could hear the footsteps of several people approaching, the young man thought that everything would end, he didn't care about the pain from the blows, he was relieved, but his relief was short-lived when he felt a sharp object enter his stomach.
The men fled the scene before being seen leaving the young man wounded on the floor.
His partner who had framed him, got up and ran away without even looking at him.
With a smile on his lips, the young man felt pathetic for trying to help the one who had betrayed and abandoned him.
The wound in his stomach hurt too much, he put his hand over it only to feel the thick liquid come out without stopping.
"I guess it ends like this," he said to himself.
His body was already weak, he had no more strength to keep his eyes open, he was tired, he just wanted to sleep.
He closed his eyes to rest, this life had been too hard for him, and it was okay to end this way.
The last thing he could hear were the screams of several people and he fell into a deep sleep.
...****************...
A comfortable bed, soft and warm blankets, the young omega who was already lying on the bed stretched his whole body comfortably.
He rubbed his eyes before waking up, threw back the covers, got out of bed, and walked to the large window to open the curtains and allow the sun's rays to enter the room.
The view outside was beautiful, a large garden filled with plants and roses.
"It's beautiful," said the young man with a smile.
He walked around the room observing every detail in it, a large room with a spacious bed in the middle; a closet big enough for three people to sleep in, but which was empty without many clothes.
"Is this the afterlife?" he wondered.
The last thing he remembered was lying on that cold floor bleeding to death.
If this was paradise, then he would live well.
He put on his slippers and left the room, the house was equally huge, he went down the stairs ready to go out into the garden, but stopped when he saw the picture frame that was on a shelf.
The photograph of a married couple, two men, both expressionless at such an important event.
He left the frame unimportant, looked up and found himself with his own reflection in the mirror, a somewhat different face, he didn't care either; but what surprised him was that that face was the same as the man in the photograph.
"Huh? When did I get married?" he questioned himself.
He thought about the last events of his life, at no time did he sign an unknown paper that would lead him to a marriage, unless he was unconscious.
"Sir?" called an unknown voice.
The young man turned to see the woman holding a tray full of medicines along with a glass of water.
"You must take your medicine," said the woman.
The young man went over to take one of the medicine bottles and read what it said.
Special medicine for omegas.
"Omega?"
