The bus ride is always pleasant when it's not too crowded.

Mikkel was not lucky, the bus was packed, and he had to stand.

His destination was the hospital; since his body was that of an omega now, several things had to be taken care of.

It was Mrs. Romy who recommended the hospital to him, so Mikkel left early in the morning.

Upon reaching the stop, Mikkel could barely get off and breathed a sigh of relief as he felt the fresh city breeze.

He walked around observing people trying to distinguish who was an alpha, omega, or beta, but it was not an easy thing to do.

He entered the hospital and went to sit down to wait his turn. Inside the hospital were pregnant people walking around or simply sitting, pregnant people, including men and women. It was certainly a strange thing for Mikkel to see, especially those who were men carrying a large belly.

"Mr. Mikkel Hyde," his name was called while he was distracted.

"Yes," Mikkel rose from his seat and entered the doctor's office.

"Good morning, Mr. Hyde," the doctor greeted.

"Good morning," Mikkel responded.

"How have you been?" the doctor asked.

"Very well; there were no inconveniences," Mikkel spoke with a smile.

"Have you been treated at another hospital before?" the doctor asked as he took notes.

"Ah, yes, this is the name of the hospital." Mikkel pulled out a note with the details of the hospital he had been treated at before; this information was given by Mrs. Romy.

The reason Mrs. Romy gave him the address of another hospital to go to today was because Andrew had also been treated at the previous hospital with the same doctor who used to treat Mikkel.

He didn't know how, but Andrew got Mikkel's medical records from that doctor, so Mrs. Romy decided it was best for Mikkel to see this new doctor who was very private with his patients' privacy.

"Well, while the information arrives, I'm going to run some routine tests on you," said the doctor, taking Mikkel for a check-up.

It was important for an omega to have a routine check-up every so often, especially for a recessive omega.

In general, Mikkel's health was stable; the doctor took some blood samples to take to the lab to see the results.

"Everything looks good so far," the doctor indicated, returning to his seat to read Mikkel's information that had arrived from the other hospital on his computer.

"Is there a problem?" Mikkel asked, noticing the doctor's expression as he read the studies.

"No, nothing to worry about, according to these latest studies, your condition improved a lot when you stopped using controlled substances."

"It's good that you stopped using them; it's risky for an omega to consume them in excess," the doctor explained.

Mikkel had already heard it from Mrs. Romy; this character in the body he now inhabited used substances due to stress.

Apparently, it was a serious case that Mikkel would not repeat.

"As for your pheromones, well, it's an almost regular case among omegas; you have nothing to worry about, there's no problem, only your pheromones are barely detectable, you don't emit too many, they are almost odorless," the doctor continued explaining.

Mikkel had read about pheromones the night before; they were a big deal for an omega, especially when it came to heat cycles.

"What about the heat cycle?" Mikkel questioned.

"So far you have not needed suppressors; according to these studies, your heat cycle only lasts a day and a half, it's more like a mild cold, so there's no need for you to use suppressors; anyway, I will evaluate the results that come out of the blood samples taken today," the doctor indicated.

Mikkel nodded in relief; it was a good thing that the heat cycle wouldn't affect him as in common cases.

"Well, I understand that your husband is a dominant Alpha; there are cases where pheromones are regulated by being in contact with a dominant Alpha, this could help you have a normal heat cycle and your pheromone levels would reach a normal level", expressed the doctor.

"We are not in a good relationship, besides, we are in the process of divorce, so he doesn't count", Mikkel smiled.

Damen was not his partner, and if being close to him would help regulate his pheromones, Mikkel preferred not to and stay as far away from him as possible.

Mikkel left the hospital with the prescription given by the doctor and went to the pharmacy to buy what was prescribed.

On his way back, Mikkel went to the Golden House agency after contacting Nick; he had to get a job as soon as possible.

The main photograph was of the entire family together performing the toast.

Mikkel had a beautiful smile on his face, something that was mentioned with interest in the magazines' notes.

The good presence of Damen's omega husband and his beautiful smile were praised.

"Damn usurper!" Andrew shouted, throwing the magazine to the floor.

Since that day, Damen had not returned to visit him; he called him several times, but he always got the same answer: the alpha was busy with work and visits to his grandfather.

As an apology, Damen sent him a lavish gift.

But for Andrew, it was not enough this time; he wished so much for Mikkel to disappear, it bothered him to see him smile and occupy a place that was his.
