"Good afternoon", Mikkel greeted politely and entered with Damen.
"I hope you like it", Mikkel said, giving the small box to Grandpa Fabien.
"Thank you", Grandpa received the small box with joy.
Mikkel felt a little uncomfortable, as he had not brought any gifts for Damen's parents, since he did not know they would be present.
Grandpa Fabien opened the box, inside was a delicious strawberry cake.
"Wow, it looks great, did you make it?", he asked, addressing Mikkel.
"Yes, I apologize for the presentation, I did not have a suitable container", Mikkel apologized.
There were some containers in the house, but they were not the right size for the cake.
"It's no problem, that won't change the taste of this delicious cake", the old man smiled.
Grandpa Fabien passed the cake to the maid to serve.
"Don't bother serving me, I don't like desserts lightly prepared in that poor presentation, who knows how it was prepared, I prefer to buy them from the bakery", indicated Mrs. Juliet to the employee.
"Good taste is not for everyone, many times a luxurious cover brings waste inside, you can't always be guided by the exterior", refuted Grandpa Fabien, tasting the cake served by the employee.
"It's delicious, you're very skilled", he smiled, flattering Mikkel.
"Thank you, I'm glad you liked it", Mikkel also smiled.
Mrs. Juliet rose from her seat in annoyance and went into the house, asking Damen to follow her.
"Sit down, don't stay standing", Grandpa instructed Mikkel, who was still standing.
The table was under a large umbrella, with the hot day, it was refreshing to sit under the shade with the beautiful view of the garden.
Damen's father also got up indicating that he would return to his work, he left after trying the strawberry cake prepared by Mikkel.
"Excuse them, they are not very nice people, I'm sorry you heard those comments", apologized the old man.
"Don't worry, it doesn't matter", Mikkel said calmly.
There wasn't much time left before he wouldn't have to deal with these people again, Mikkel looked forward to that day so he wouldn't have to have a relationship with this family, except for Grandpa Fabien who was pleasant.
With everyone gone, only Grandpa and Mikkel were left at the table.
"I heard you started working at the Golden House agency", Grandpa mentioned.
"Oh, yes, although it's not certain yet, I have to wait to confirm my stay at the agency", explained Mikkel.
"I'm sure you won't have any problems, the photos look great, you look so happy in that photo," said Grandpa.
News does travel fast, Mikkel thought.
He wouldn't be surprised if Damen's mother was talking to him about it right now.
Grandpa Fabien picked up the magazine that was on the table and handed it to Mikkel.
"It came out a few hours ago, I saw your picture here"
Mikkel took the magazine and began to leaf through it, evidently, his image was in it, on almost the last page.
It was a strange feeling, but full.
"As part of the family, you have my full support, so don't worry about anything," Grandpa Fabien spoke.
"Thank you, but I would like to do this on my own, I appreciate your support, it is enough for me", Mikkel smiled in response.
He wanted nothing more to do with this family, if he received Grandpa's help, it would only be a big problem for the future.
"How is it that someone as good as you ended up married to my grandson?", the old man sighed, patting Mikkel's hand.
"I feel so sorry for you for having to put up with it, he's so much like my late husband, they're both just as unbearable," Grandpa added.
A soft smile appeared on his face as he remembered his husband.
"They were difficult times, but beautiful, we lived happily together for many years, Damen is so much like him," Grandpa continued.
Mikkel listened curiously, the old man's eyes reflecting such nostalgia as he spoke of his late husband.
"We only had one son, Kemish, it was difficult when I had him, he had to be born dominant alpha to continue our marriage, it was a rule imposed by his family, my husband didn't care what the baby was like, but it was important to me", the old man recounted.
The prejudice against omegas was more severe in the past when he was young, he took a long treatment to make possible the birth of a dominant alpha, something that ended up hurting his body being unable to have more children.
"I raised my son strictly so that he would not be like those alphas full of prejudice, I suppose I did well, but Damen grew up very spoiled by his mother and ended up having the same attitude as his late grandfather", expressed the grandfather with a smile.
"He's very annoying, isn't he?", he asked, amusing himself to Mikkel.
Mikkel nodded, he didn't know Damen very well, but he had a very annoying and childish attitude when dealing with him.
"It will be a shame when you have to leave, I think you could handle it perfectly," said Grandpa.
"I don't think so, it's already too tiring to have to deal with him for a few hours," Mikkel expressed.
The sour taste of the salad filled with lemon juice could still be felt on his palate.
"Ha ha ha ha, does that mean you don't like it one bit?", questioned the old man.
"I don't like it," Mikkel said confidently.
"I see"
… ****…
Inside the house, Mrs. Juliet angrily addressed the subject of Andrew.
"He can't be so brazen as to dare to work in the same place as Andrew, the poor boy is so distressed", she snorted annoyed.
Andrew had also spoken to her complaining about Mikkel's attitude.
"You must do something Damen, your grandfather won't let me interfere", she told her son.
Damen looked out the window towards the garden.
"I'll see how things go, it will be interesting to see," he said in response.
"But son..."
"I have to go now, I'll be back later", Damen left the house without paying any more attention to his mother.
He walked towards where Mikkel was and they left the house together.
