Episode 10

In the end, Mikkel got out of the car holding onto Damen's suit sleeve at the insistence of the assistant. She looked really worried, so Mikkel had no choice but to get out that way.

The protagonist couple walked towards the entrance of the hall with the sound of camera shutters on them.

Although reluctant, Mikkel held Damen's arm, and they walked together.

"I hope there's cake; only then this will all be worth it," Mikkel murmured.

"Is there a garden with comfortable seats? Or an orchestra playing live?" Mikkel asked, remembering seeing it in a movie.

"Are you an ignorant?" Damen asked sarcastically.

"On this subject, yes, that's why I'm asking," Mikkel replied, looking at the alpha.

"I thought you found it unpleasant to talk to me," Damen questioned, looking at the omega.

"What else can I do if I'm already here, right? Many times, even if the company is unpleasant, it will be worth it if the event turns out to be good," Mikkel smiled.

The photographers continued to take pictures; they couldn't hear what the couple was saying but perfectly captured the moment they both looked at each other and the omega's beautiful smile.

Upon reaching the entrance, Mikkel was astonished by the elegant and large hall. They were greeted with applause upon entering; there were many unknown people to Mikkel.

They were guided to the center of the hall, where Damen was congratulated by several people. Mikkel released the alpha's arm at that moment so that people could easily approach Damen.

"Congratulations, Mr. Kamprad."

"It's good business that will benefit us all."

"Congratulations."

They started to congratulate him one by one.

Some people also approached Mikkel to congratulate him; Mikkel smiled kindly, giving thanks.

"Congratulations, my son," said a lady who approached Damen with a smile, wearing a beautiful wine-colored evening dress and a beige fur coat.

Behind her, a young man who came in her company also approached Damen with a beautiful smile.

Mikkel recognized that face; he would not forget it after seeing it on those big screens in the city.

"Wow."

"This is awkward."

"I can't believe he showed up with Mr. Kamprad's mother."

"What was Mrs. Juliet thinking, bringing him as her companion?"

"This is going to be fun."

"Husband and lover together."

People murmured behind Mikkel.

The young man in question was Andrew, wearing a beautiful light beige suit and equally beautiful light-colored shoes. Mikkel was not an expert, but the suit Andrew was wearing was identical to the one the assistant lady brought for him.

Mrs. Juliet hugged her son, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"I'm very proud of you," she said with a smile.

"Thank you, mother," Damen said in response.

Andrew approached Damen and pronounced timidly, "Congratulations."

"Thank you," Damen smiled.

The murmurs of the people were heard again, along with some mocking laughter directed at Mikkel.

Mikkel watched the scene between the two and found it repugnant. It was so noticeable Andrew's shameless attitude in presenting himself that way with a false expression of a good and innocent boy.

Not to mention he was wearing the same suit Mikkel had to wear. It was a relief to have changed before going out so as not to look the same, or things would have turned out more unpleasant.

"We're both very happy for you," Mrs. Juliet spoke for Andrew as well.

She noticed Mikkel, who was standing next to her son, but decided to ignore him and went over to Andrew's side.

Mikkel didn't care about the woman's attitude toward him, but he had pride. He wasn't the same person they could treat like an invisible being. He felt sorry for the previous Mikkel, but he wasn't someone who would keep quiet when people ridiculed him that way. He wouldn't stand to be treated like that until the divorce came.

"Good evening, mother-in-law," Mikkel smiled, greeting the woman.

He took Damen's arm again and smiled brightly, looking at Mrs. Juliet and Andrew.

"Thank you for your congratulations," Mikkel said, addressing them both.

Andrew and Mrs. Juliet were silent with the eyes of those present on them.

How could she ignore her son-in-law's greeting? For a woman of her stature, this kind of attitude would be frowned upon by Mrs. Juliet.

"...Good evening," she returned the greeting reluctantly.

"You look very beautiful tonight," Mikkel complimented his mother-in-law.

"Thank you, you look very handsome too," Mrs. Juliet smiled.

Mikkel felt Damen's arm tense, so he held it tighter, looking at the alpha with a smile.

Now, the only one who looked out of place was Andrew.

Andrew looked at the three people, and panic seized his heart.

He approached Mrs. Juliet and called her softly. "Mother."
