Episode 18

There were several unfamiliar people whom Mikkel greeted with a smile.

He sat down next to Damen, wishing this meeting would end soon.

Conversations began to buzz around the table, conversations that held little interest for Mikkel.

"Congratulations on the organization."

"It's a lovely place."

"As expected of you, you always have such good taste."

Compliments began to shower down on Andrew, who had organized this meeting.

"Thank you, it was a bit difficult to get a reservation at this restaurant, but I'm glad I was able to manage it thanks to the support of Mr. Kamprad," Andrew smiled, receiving the compliments and looking at Damen with gratitude.

Damen nodded, raising his wine glass towards Andrew.

"It was a pleasure," he smiled in response.

It was an uncomfortable moment for some present, and an amusing situation for others.

They fixed their gazes on Mikkel, who was sitting next to Damen, curious about his reaction. However, Mikkel didn't seem to care and devoted himself to eating from the appetizer dishes.

Andrew saw him too, and a wide smile spread across his face, feeling better for receiving Damen's attention.

"By the way, it's good to see you looking better, Mr. Hyde," said one of those present, addressing Mikkel.

"It's true, you always used to look so haggard and dull," said another.

"Given your condition, it was to be expected, those things always ruin people, it's good that you've been able to cope," commented another.

They were obviously referring to the substance abuse problems Mikkel had gone through previously, inappropriate comments.

"Thank you for being so concerned about my private life," Mikkel smiled, looking at these people.

These kinds of people were unpleasant.

Mikkel maintained his smile and continued eating, receiving no response from the people who had been talking about him a moment ago.

However, it was Andrew who finally spoke.

"Don't be upset, everyone is worried about you, don't be so arrogant," he expressed in a sweet voice.

Mikkel stopped eating and looked at Andrew calmly.

"I'm not upset, in fact, I thank you again for your benevolent attitude towards me," he smiled again.

The table fell silent, everyone waiting to witness more of the confrontation between the two omegas.

Andrew looked at Damen for support, but he remained silent, sipping his wine.

"It's good to see you better, I hope you don't go through that again," Andrew said, addressing Mikkel.

"Thank you, your support will be of great help to me, whenever I am about to relapse I will think about how worried you are about me, that will give me strength," Mikkel expressed, busying himself with eating again.

The food was served soon, and everyone busied themselves with it.

"Would you like some lemon?" Damen asked Mikkel.

There was a plate of lemon wedges that had been served with the meal.

Damen remembered Mikkel's expression that day and offered him some.

But Mikkel didn't answer or bother to look at him, instead concentrating on eating.

Damen insisted again, pushing the lemon towards Mikkel, but he ignored him.

"Are you upset now?" the alpha asked.

Mikkel ignored him again and turned his gaze to his other side where Maria was sitting.

"How have you been?" he asked with a smile.

"Very well, although it gets harder as time goes by, but I'm anxious for him to be born," replied Maria.

It wasn't long before the birth of her baby, Maria was happy to think about meeting her baby soon.

Ignored again, Damen poured the lemon juice over Mikkel's salad while he was talking to Maria.

Mikkel noticed and decided to ignore it anyway.

Andrew witnessed all of this, bewildered by Damen's attitude towards Mikkel.

"Good morning," a woman in a chef's uniform suddenly greeted.

The woman approached the table to make sure everything was okay.

"I hope you enjoyed the food," the woman expressed with a warm smile.

Mikkel looked up to see the woman, a very beautiful woman with beautiful brown hair tied in a bun.

Mikkel stared at the woman's beauty, she was one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen, she had a very warm and confident aura.

The woman turned to look at Mikkel and gave him a beautiful smile that made Mikkel's cheeks blush.

After the diners' thanks to the chef, she moved to another table, saying goodbye to those present.

Mikkel's spirits lifted thanks to the beautiful woman, and he went back to eating with gusto.

Distracted, he picked up the salad and ate it with pleasure, however, the bitter taste filled his taste buds and his expression changed to one of disgust.

Damen's laughter was not long in coming and echoed throughout the place.

The meeting ended after midday.

Andrew approached Damen when everyone was outside.

"Can we go together now? I want to talk to you," he expressed sadly.

The interaction between Damen and Mikkel had made him nervous, he wanted to ask the alpha what was going on.

"It's not possible now, I have to go see my grandfather, it will have to be another time, I'll call you," said Damen.

The grandfather, it was always the grandfather, Andrew hated that man for always interfering between them, it was a nuisance when the old man came to visit, he only hoped he would leave soon so he could have Damen back to himself.

"...Okay," Andrew replied reluctantly.

Damen walked to the car after speaking with Andrew.

He waited for Mikkel and they drove off together towards the main house.

Andrew's heart wouldn't stop pounding with anger and nervousness.

"Are you still upset?" Damen asked.

"I'm not upset, I thought you'd like to talk to Andrew, besides, you said not to interfere between you two, why would I bother talking to you when he's around?" Mikkel finally spoke.

"How considerate," Damen smiled.

In order not to listen to him, Mikkel turned up the music in the car until they reached the main house.

He got out of the car when they arrived and took a small box out of the trunk.

"What's that?" Damen asked, Mikkel had left the box in the car when he left his house.

"A present for Grandpa," Mikkel smiled.

"I hope he likes it," Mikkel walked toward the large house.

It was a huge house on several acres, this was the first time Mikkel had been inside a house of this kind.

They entered through the door into the large garden where Damen's parents and Grandfather Fabien were gathered.
