Her Husband, My Love [Yoonseok | Sope | Taejinjoon | Jikook ]
Nightmares.
Taehyung
Why did you leave?
Taehyung queries, his eyes trained on Hoseok's figure. He wasn't like himself. Hoseok always knew what he wanted, barely ever hesitated to answer any questions, he was so outspoken, yet he couldn't even answer this one which seemed so simple.
He says after quite some time, and Taehyung nods. It wasn't that believable.
Taehyung
It seemed like it was more than that?
Hoseok
Hmm... what do you think it was?
Taehyung
Are you and Yoongi okay?
Again, it didn't sound believable. His voice was soft, not that confident and it worries Taehyung a little. Maybe he and Yoongi really weren't okay.
Taehyung
You don't... you don't talk about him like you used to.
Hoseok
I... I guess things just aren't like they used to be anymore.
Hoseok
He's not like he used to be.
He lets out a humorless laugh, before he sighs, running a hand over his face then he shakes his head at himself.
Hoseok
Do you ever... wanna run away?
That takes Taehyung off guard. Why would he ask a question like that?
Taehyung
No... not really. Do you?
Hoseok
Yeah, but don't ever let Dad know that.
Taehyung
He'd probably chain you down just to make sure you don't
Taehyung jokes to lighten the mood, and it seems to work because a small smile plays on the older's lips.
Hoseok
Yeah. He would do something dumb like that.
Taehyung keeps his eye on the other, he could tell he wasn't. He watches as tears pool in Hoseok's eyes before he looks up blinking them away. Hoseok lays his head against the table, far less gentle than he should have then he speaks.
Hoseok
I don't know... guess not, but it's stupid.
Taehyung
You don't trust me?
Hoseok
It's... not that... I just...
Hoseok sighs, and part of him hates himself for even saying anything out loud but he felt like he needed to. Just this once.
Hoseok
I..don't know how to say I wish my sister didn't come to visit this year without sounding like an àss.
Taehyung
Is that how you really feel?
It shocks Taehyung a little, why would he think that way. Had Dari said something to upset him or maybe she did something.
Hoseok
I know it's horrible but it just hurts so much.
Hoseok
And Yoongi... he knows how I feel but that still doesn't stop him from showing how much he's in love with her in front of me.
Just listening to him, you could hear the anger laced in every word, Taehyung could tell it was coming from a place of hurt.
Hoseok
It hurts more than I thought it would.
His last words are softer, he sounded defeated.
Taehyung
You... like Yoongi?
Taehyung asks, and Hoseok's eyes meet his before he scoffs, shaking his head.
Hoseok
I've been in love with him since we were little.
Hoseok
And I don't know what to do, I can't focus on anything anymore.
Hoseok fidgets with the table again, rocking back and forth on his seat as he spoke and Taehyung felt bad for him.
Hoseok
I can't eat because they're right in front of me being so insufferable, I can't sleep because they're right next door and i lay awake thinking about what they could be doing.
Hoseok
I just want it to stop.
He admits, holding his head his hand as his tears finally fell.
Taehyung
I.. I didn't know.
Hoseok
Just don't tell anyone.
He begs, and as he tries to wipe his tears more just falls making him swear in frustration.
Hoseok
I'll just pretend like I'm normal until i've gotta choose a bride.
Hoseok
Who knows, maybe I will meet someone who wins me over.
He groans at that, because just the idea of being with someone else makes him feel sick.
Taehyung
Have you thought about talking to Dari?
Hoseok
I don't wanna tell her that i'm in love with her husband to be. She'll probably hate me.
Taehyung
Dari's not like that.
Hoseok
There's too much at play here, what do you think Dad's gonna do if he knows I'm in love with another man? He'd disown me.
He doesn't often care what people think of him but his dad's opinion did mean alot to him. If his dad found out he knows his dad would probably never speak to him ever again. He's not sure that he'd be able to live with that.
Hoseok
Let's talk about something else. What about you? Tell me something fun.
Taehyung
I'm the least fun person you know, no?
Hoseok
You're fun when you want to be.
Taehyung
I got drunk once. I think... I... I don't know.
Hoseok
You had alcohol? It's like very rare, Where did you get it?
Hoseok
Ah. You and Namjoon seemed pretty close. Are you guys friends too?
Taehyung sighs, shaking his head.
Taehyung
I... No... I thought so but I guess he was just being nice.
Taehyung
It's nothing. He just... He invited me to his party and then after that he's just been avoiding me.
Taehyung
He told me to leave him alone.
Hoseok
Namjoon's not the type to be hostile without a reason.
Hoseok
You said you were drunk? Did you say something to him?
Taehyung
No... I don't know, I don't remember anything from that night...
Hoseok
I... You should ask him then.
Taehyung scoffs at that, why would he provoke Namjoon anymore than he already has. He doesn't want to upset the older any further.
Taehyung
But he... said to leave him alone.
Hoseok
Yeah, but if you wanna know why then ask him.
Taehyung looks away from Hoseok, his mind wandering. He would like to know the reason why Namjoon was suddenly so upset at him.
Jungkook
Your parents were really nice.
Jungkook tells, and he sits on Jimin's bed as the other closed the door behind him.
Jimin
I told you they'd be.
Jimin
and like dad said, make yourself comfortable. You'll be here for a while.
Jungkook
I'll start looking for a job on monday.
Jimin rolls his eyes, but he nods anyway then he says.
Jimin
Fine, but let me help you.
Jungkook
It's not cool to use my words against me.
Jungkook teases, as Jimin finally takes a seat next to him.
Jimin
How's your bruises? Do they hurt a little less?
Jungkook
It depends, i feel a lot better though so i guess i have nothing to complain about
Jimin
You look tired, you should go back to sleep if you want.
Jimin
I will, once I finish my homework.
Jimin nods before he stands from the bed, making his way over to his desk where his book had already been placed and he starts doing his homework.
Hoseok lets out a soft groan, his eyes were puffy from crying earlier. He guesses he could finally go back to sleep now.
He stands before his door, and as he twists the lock, opening the door. He hears the bathroom door behind him click open.
Hoseok pushes his bedroom door open before he turns to close it and he sees Yoongi staring back at him. His breathing slows for a second. The younger seemed to have just dried his hair, making it messy and all over the place. Something about that made Hoseok's insides mush. He wants him so bad
Yoongi
Hey... Uh, Can we talk now?
He replies, and he lets out a breath to calm himself when Yoongi side steps him and enters his room. So much for going back to sleep.
Yoongi
Nothing in particular.
Yoongi
Just like before. Do you have any dreams you wanna talk to me about?
Yoongi makes himself comfortable in Hoseok's couch, as Hoseok closes his room door and then he makes his way over to his desk.
Maybe if he did read the other a story, he'd leave quickly.
Hoseok
Uh... Yeah, i guess.
Hoseok lets Yoongi grab him and he pulls him into the couch next to him. Yoongi lays his head on his shoulder like he usually does, and Hoseok sighs in content before he lays his head on Yoongi's damp hair.
Hoseok
It's pretty simple, I was living somewhere so cold you could see your own breath every time your lips parted. It's not bad when you get used to it though. My life seemed good. During the days, I'd watch the snow fall and just before night i'd get the craziest inspirations to write. Then I'd join my wife in bed...
Hoseok
And we'd talk a little, it'd be the best part of my days. The most memorable, then sometimes if I was lucky, then we'd get intimate. She was caring, and loved me, flaws and all. Living in the cold, I could always trust that she'd keep me warm. Being in the dark, I could always hold her hand and find the light.
Hoseok
Then she fell pregnant, and we had our first child. Just like I'd wanted. He looked exactly like her. She and I raised him to be a good man, sometime after I'd fell ill and I'd died.
Hoseok
But, at peace because I got everything one could ever want out of life. Love. They never left my side once.
Yoongi
Did you make that one up?
Yoongi questions, and Hoseok misses the slight pout on the younger's lips.
Hoseok
Uh huh. Was it obvious?
Yoongi really meant, "Was that about someone?". Usually, the stuff Hoseok shared with him were about him. Sometimes, it'd be small stuff but this didn't have anything. He's never done that before and it makes Yoongi more sad than he'd expect. He always did complain when Hoseok did do it but he never actually wanted him to stop. He thought it was a little cute. Just a little.
Yoongi
Not really, I just wanted to know.
Yoongi
Why... Why a woman?
He asks, still bitter that it wasn't him.
Yoongi
I... Well, I... You said you loved me so I thought... Don't you like men?
He says, making an attempt to save himself.
Yoongi
You've just... I've never heard you talk about women like... or men for that matter... like you could see yourself happy with anyone.... anyone but me.
Yoongi
Why... Why make up a story like that?
Hoseok
It's just a story, does it matter?
and still, he doesn't get the answer he'd wanted so he's more upset than he was before. Unreasonably so too.
Yoongi
I just... never mind.
Hoseok
I'm gonna go to bed.
Hoseok tries to pull his limbs away from Yoongi, but the younger didn't let up on his grip, keeping Hoseok seated in place.
Yoongi
Do you wanna walk me home?
Hoseok
I... shouldn't you ask Dari?
Yoongi
She is probably too sore from all the horse riding we did today.
He smiles at that, seemingly thinking a little before he turns to Hoseok and he speaks again.
Yoongi
I fell of so many times. I'm a little bruised.
He says, and he lets go of Hoseok before his hands find his shirt, and he lifts it, showing Hoseok some of his freshly made bruises. Hoseok was less amused than he'd anticipated.
Is all he says, but deep down he was upset for various reasons, he's not sure he wants to hear about how much fun he's having with someone else but also because why would Yoongi get on a horse if he doesn't know how to ride? He wonders whether the other's bruises hurt. He hopes not but it probably did. Maybe just a bit.
Yoongi
Do you want me to go?
Yoongi
Hoseok, you're giving me nothing.
He says, as Hoseok pulls away from him completely and he starts walking away from Yoongi, who stands as well following close behind the older.
Hoseok
I'm trying, okay...
Yoongi
It doesn't feel like you are.
Hoseok
I don't know what more you want from me, okay? I said I'm trying, if it's not enough for you then maybe next time just leave me alone.
Hoseok sits on his bed, folding his arms and judging by Yoongi's expression he could tell the other had gotten frustrated, so what he says next didn't really shock Hoseok.
Yoongi
Why are you so fücking angry all the time?
Yoongi
Even at breakfast this morning you had to make a scene and storm out like that, you just can't help yourself, can you?
Hoseok
Sorry, I just lost my appetite, not everyone wants to see you two all over each other all the fucking time.
Yoongi scoffs at that, and he looks back to Hoseok, matching the older's gaze and for a while, Hoseok stopped paying attention to what he'd even been saying. He looks so good, if only he'd keep his mouth shut.
Yoongi
Is that why you left? Damn, I can't do anything with the woman I'm gonna marry, huh?
Yoongi
Does that make you upset?
Hoseok sighs frustratedly, Yoongi last words piss him off a little because he knew he was trying to piss him off and it's working.
Hoseok
No... Honestly, it just makes me sad.
Hoseok
I'm starting to wonder what I even see you. You're so indecisive it's honestly hilarious.
Yoongi
How am I indecisive?
Hoseok
Convenient that you don't remember all the bullshit you said last night?
Hoseok
"Oh, Hoseok. It's different. I won't hurt you again. I'll be better." and this morning asking me if i'm okay, telling me i don't take care of you and then the hug. It's all just bullshit.
Hoseok
And just now, you were all over me. You don't think it's weird that you want to be all up in my arms and not Dari's? If I didn't know any better I'd think you might actually like me too.
Hoseok stands from his bed. He was getting even more upset and he just wants Yoongi to go so this doesn't escalate further but before he tries to make his way over to the door to show Yoongi out, but the other grabs his wrist stopping him.
Yoongi
As if I would, and I meant what I said but you're the one who's ruining our relationship. How are we going to work if you don't put any effort in?
Yoongi
I try so hard, Hoseok. I'm trying to be your best friend and it feels like I'm begging for a relationship with you.
Yoongi
Why can't you just stop loving me?
He says, and it feels like a gut punch, because how could he even think that he hasn't tried. How could he think that it's so easy?
Hoseok
You think I want to?
Yoongi
I think somewhere in your mind you have this thought that some day I might actually fall in love with you but I won't.
He takes a step closer, almost as if to make sure Hoseok heard everything he had to say.
Yoongi
It's never gonna happen, Hoseok. I'm in love with Dari.
He says, just inches away from Hoseok. Just the slightest movement from either of them and they would be touching.
To be honest, the moment those words left Yoongi's lips he regretted, not only because it's not true but the way Hoseok's lips immediately quivered, and his struggle to blink properly made him feel the worst he's ever felt in a long time and starts wondering why he does this. Why does he hurt Hoseok like this? He doesn't even really mean to.
Yoongi
She makes me happy and-
Hoseok didn't want to hear anymore, he could tell Yoongi was only saying all of that to hurt his feelings and he hates that it does.
Hoseok
It's kinda hard to not think that way when you say the things you say and then do the opposite.
Yoongi
What are you talking about?
Hoseok
You say you don't feel the same way yet when i kissed you, you kissed me back every single time.
Yoongi
I... What do you want me to say? That I wanted to kiss you?
Yoongi settles with that, and it baffles him why he hadn't just said no. Then again, he's just being a hypocrite given yesterday if Hoseok didn't push him away he would've.
But of course, it was because he thought about Dari. Right.
Hoseok
That didn't seem to stop you from almost kissing me yesterday, did it?
Yoongi feels his breath stop and he just stares at Hoseok, almost if he'd been paralyzed and now he's tongue is all tied up. He doesn't know what to say. He just assumed that Hoseok hadn't realized because he never said anything. He... Why did he have to pick up on that? How is he supposed to explain himself right now?
He can't even say his stupid excuse out loud because it's one to lie to yourself in your head but that excuse would crumble the moment he let it leave his mouth and he knew it so he settles for what he does best.
Yoongi
Even if I did, it would just be another painful reminder for you that I'm never gonna love you like you want me to.
Once he said, he knew it was done. He could see it on the other's face. Hoseok was done with this conversation. Oddly that makes him panic a little. If it were up to him, he'd stay and argue to be honest. He just wants Hoseok to pay him some attention again.
Yoongi
Are we really doing this again?
Yoongi watches as Hoseok walks up to the door, and he opens it waiting for Yoongi to leave, but the younger just stands there.
Hoseok
Don't worry, it's the last time.
Yoongi pleads and he looks down. Hoseok thinks it's so pathetic how Yoongi almost never thinks about the consequences of his actions and Hoseok doesn't really get it. Maybe he just doesn't get Yoongi.
Hoseok
I don't care, just go. I'm done.
Hoseok
I don't wanna do this anymore. You're right. You're not gonna love me, and you're not gonna stop being the way you are.
Hoseok
You don't really know what you want. And deep down that's fucking with you but I don't care anymore.
Yoongi
That's not your decision to make.
Hoseok challenges and he grabs Yoongi's wrist, before he pulls him outside his room, not waiting a second for Yoongi to say anything else before he slams the door in his face.
Yoongi walks into his house, without a word. He closes the door behind him silently. He wasn't looking to have a conversation with his parents the moment. Especially not with the tears rolling down his face. He already knew what they'd say.
He turns from the door, before he tries to his room but on his way up the stairs he runs into his mother, who wore a confused expression.
Mrs. Min
Yoongi? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the Jung's.
He looks down, trying to hide the fact that there were tears smeared on his face but it didn't work?
He apologizes, wiping his eyes quickly but it makes no sense because more tears fall every time he does. He was more than embarrassed at this point.
Mrs. Min
Did something happen with Dari?
He wants to say yes, because if he did, that would be a pretty valid reason but he knew she'd only see him as weak for crying over something that stupid so what does he say?
Yoongi
I... It's nothing I just...
Mrs. Min
Yoongi, come on. You're getting married soon. Dari won't want a man who cries like this, son. Dry your eyes and man up. We raised you better than this, no?
Yoongi
I... Yes. I'm sorry.
He apologizes again, and he bites his lips, closing his eyes as he side steps his mom and he makes his way to his room before he shuts the door softly behind him, then he lets himself fall to the floor.
Why is it so hard for him to be a proper man? Why is he crying over another man?
He stares at the ceiling, just thinking. Lately, that's all he's been doing really. He had nothing to do. He went to the Jung's House less which upset his dad but he's not sure how much more Hoseok acting like he doesn't exist he can take.
Just yesterday, Mrs. Jung asked Hoseok to set the table and of course Hoseok set dishes for everyone except him. Then he had to make up some silly excuse as to why he had to go because he couldn't stomach the tension between him and Hoseok and everyone around them was starting to notice it too.
His lips are bruised and sore because all he does is bite on them whenever he feels the need to cry and his life has just gone completely to shit now, you'd be surprised how much it happens. So much for being a man. Yoongi feels so out of place everywhere. In his own home, he's not man enough, with Dari, he's not good enough, and with Hoseok, he doesn't even exist to the other. And at school, he's just a poor kid who has bullies for friends.
The most prominent reason that he's trying to push away is how badly he just wants Hoseok to acknowledge him. He didn't think the other was that serious. He thought if he apologized enough Hoseok would eventually just forget about everything but all he gets is the sight of Hoseok walking away from him.
It's gonna so bad, he's even having nightmares about the other. He wonders how much different things would be if, he'd said no when Dari ask to marry him. He and Hoseok would probably be okay. It's for the better, if he hadn't he'd probably be kissed by Hoseok for many more than he's already been.
That doesn't sound quite awful.
Yoongi
What am I saying? Stop...
He bites his lips, and he doesn't stop when he tastes the metallic substance in mouth, he bites a little harder. He only stops when he hears a knock on the door.
He quickly stands before he makes his way down the stairs and to the front door. Upon opening, for a second he was hopeful that maybe it was Hoseok. His mood drops drastically at the realization that it wasn't.
Yoongi
Hey... What... What are you doing here?
She smiles at him, and Yoongi smiles back at her, but's it's quite clear it was fake.
Yoongi
Really? It's been a day.
Dari
I know but... forget it. I brought you a slice of the cake I made.
She smiles, pulling the container open to show him.
Yoongi
Thank you... but i don't like chocolate.
She looks up from the cake at him, confusion on her features
Dari
But Hoseok... He said you love it.
Dari
Only he would forget something like that.
She rolls her eyes sighing as she closed the container, and Yoongi just scoffs. He knew Hoseok didn't forget, he was only being petty like he usually is and oddly it replenishes a little of Yoongi's hope. Maybe, Hoseok still did care just a little.
He gets snapped out of his thoughts when he hears Dari calling his name. By the looks of it, she'd been trying to get his attention for some time.
Dari
Where are your parents?
Yoongi
I'm not sure. They didn't tell me where they went.
Dari
Well, in that case...
She says smugly, and he completely misread the signal, a little shocked when she takes his face in her own and she kissed him. A bit more aggressive than usual and Yoongi doesn't pull away. He kisses back because maybe this would help clear his mind. Make him feel better.
He holds her by the waist, pushing her down against the sofa and he makes sure not to put too much of his weight on her as he climbs on top of her and he immediately connects his lips to hers again before he slowly transitions to her jaw, then down her neck.
He hears, so he pulls away a little waiting for her to explain.
Hoseok
Don't leave any love bites, my pare-
Yoongi immediately pulls back, falling off the sofa and he trips over one of his dad's shoe that had been carelessly thrown down. He groans at himself shaking his head. What just happened? Why... What was going on with him?
Dari
Are you okay? What happened?
Yoongi
Sorry, Sorry... I... I can't.
He tells, and he stands to his feet, hands cradling his head as he quickly makes his way out of the living room and up to his room, leaving Dari alone in confusion.
He hears, as he climbs onto his bed and he sighs.
Dari
We don't have to do anything if you don't want to.
Why would he imagine Hoseok? How stupid is he? He doesn't even have an excuse this time. Maybe he was going mad. He tries to tell himself he was just still missing Hoseok and that was the only reason. He ignores the other part of him that knows it's because he wanted it to be him.
He snaps out of his thoughts when he hears Dari calling him again. He'd completely zoned out.
Yoongi
Sorry. I... Yeah. Okay.
She doesn't question him any longer. Instead, she just lays next to him and tries to make him comfortable.
Mr. Jung
Hoseok, come here for a minute.
Hoseok sighs, and he turns away from the stairs making his way to his dad in the kitchen. Couldn't he at least let him put his bag down?
Hoseok sits in the chair next to his dad, waiting for him to say what he wanted.
Mr. Jung
Why did you agree to getting a bride so easily?
Hoseok groans at that, it's been about a week. Why are they so shocked about that?
Hoseok
Why can't you just accept that I did?
Mr. Jung
You're always so opposed to everything, what suddenly changed.
Mr. Jung looks at him, concerned and Hoseok doesn't even really know what to make of this but it does really piss him off.
Hoseok
I just want to go to bed, Father. If I'd known it'd be such a big deal I would've opposed like you all seemed to want.
The man sighs at his response shaking his head, before he folded his arms.
Mr. Jung
You don't need to be this angry all the time.
Hoseok stands from the couch at that, he didn't need this right now to be honest.
Hoseok
Why does everyone keep saying that? I-
Hoseok
You know what, i'm going.
He slips his bag off shoulder, dropping it to the floor before he turns to his dad who doesn't even look at him and then he leaves the house. He needed some air.
Yoongi
How long are you gonna be mad at me for?
He watches as Hoseok rolls his eyes, packing his things. He needed to stop him.
Hoseok
Well, I don't need you so just go.
Yoongi takes a step closer, but Hoseok just packs faster. Where was he going?
Yoongi
You said you loved me.
Hoseok
I lied. And you're silly for believing me because you might actually be the hardest person to love.
Hoseok
I'm gonna find a gorgeous woman, and you'll just be a thing of the past.
Yoongi doesn't know whether he should be more upset at Hoseok for calling him a thing or Hoseok not listening to what he had to say.
Yoongi
No, I'm not. You said you loved me. You've been saying it for years.
Hoseok
It was a lie. Are you deaf?
Yoongi makes his way next to the other and he tries to take the suitcase away from him but, he was stronger so it made no sense for him to even try.
Yoongi
You can't leave me like this. Just don't-
Hoseok
I sure can and I'm going far away from you, forever. With my lovely wife.
Yoongi looks at him with a confused expression. What was he going on about?
Yoongi
You're not married.
Hoseok
Yes, I am. And I love her.
Yoongi feels himself grow angrier. He's leaving to go be with someone else?
Yoongi
Shut up. That's not true.
Hoseok
She's gorgeous. She's everything I need.
That hurts, more than he likes and so he tries to flip the suitcase but once again it doesn't work. He can't stop him.
Yoongi
Stop it. You love me.
He practically begs but Hoseok just wasn't having it.
Yoongi
Yes, you do. And you always will. And you'll always be next to me. Like I'll always be with you.
It sounds more like he was trying to convince himself than Hoseok.
Hoseok
Why would I ever want you around for that long?
Hoseok
Even your parents got rid of you as fast they could, now it's my turn to do the same.
He pleads as he watches Hoseok shove the last of his clothes in his bag, and he starts to close it making Yoongi panic a little more.
Yoongi
I'll leave Dari, I'll stop it all just don't go.
He begs, as tears pool in his eyes but nothing he says seems to work. He can't leave.
Hoseok
I don't care about you.
Yoongi
Don't you remember all the stories you've written about me? All the dreams you tell only to me. It's... You love me...
Hoseok
They're about my wife... not you.
Hoseok tells nonchalantly and he stands picking his suitcase up and Yoongi instinctively grabs his legs making him fall over.
Yoongi
You're not married. Stop saying that.
Yoongi
You're not married.
He says, holding Hoseok down with him. He couldn't let him leave. Who's gonna make him feel safe if Hoseok leaves? Who's gonna make him happy, he can't leave.
Hoseok pushes him away but before he can grab a hold of him again, he's no longer in Hoseok's room. His heart's racing and he can barely grasp his surroundings until he hears a familiar voice next to him, holding him tightly.
Yoongi
You're not.... What?
He looks around the room, his breathing still heavy and panicked. It was just a dream.
Dari
Were you having a nightmare?
Dari questioned and she looks at him, clearly concerned. What was he even supposed to tell her?
Yoongi
No. Go back to sleep.
He says, hopping off the bed and he trips over his own leg but he manages to break his fall.
Yoongi
There's nothing to talk about. It was just a dream. I'm fine.
Yoongi sighs, and he gets up quickly before he makes his way out of the room, leaving her alone. He needed some air.
