Her Husband, My Love [Yoonseok | Sope | Taejinjoon | Jikook ]
Can't You At Least Pretend Like You Feel It Too?
Mrs. Jung
Dari, come sit. The place is cleaner than ever before.
Mrs. Jung tries to reassure Dari, but it was no used, she kept running around the house "trying to make sure everything was perfect" even though the house was already well-kept.
Dari
It needs to be spotless. Yoongi shall be here in a while.
She speaks, as she fixed the pillows in the large couch in the living room for about the 20th time.
Mrs. Jung
No need for all this paranoia, dear, everything will go well.
Dari
But what if it does not? I don't want Yoongi to...
Mrs. Jung takes Dari's hands, stopping her from re-positioning the pillows yet again.
Mrs. Jung
Dear, I am sure Yoongi will not care about a pillow being out of place.
She tells Dari, with a smile, and their attention is pulled by Hoseok, who had just entered the living room, seeming rather more broody than he typically was.
Her oldest son looks to her with a tight-lipped smile before he spoke.
He says, monotone before his figure disappears into the kitchen, where his father had already been seated, doing the puzzle in his newspaper like he did every other morning, that is if Taehyung didn't get a chance to do them before he could.
Mrs. Jung
Have you woken in a bad mood, darling?
Mrs. Jung asks as she walks up to her son, and she hugs him, places a kiss on his cheeks and he smiles softly before it disappears when she pulls away.
Mr. Jung
When has he not, my love?
Hoseok
I did not sleep the greatest, that is all.
He says, giving his dad a pointed look and the man smiles at him. His relationship with his dad was strange. He and his dad almost always argued, and over the simplest things too but also they'd joke around every now and then. He thinks out of all his dad's kid, he was the least like his dad.
Mr. Jung
Well, why not join me at work today, I am certain that might cheer you up.
Hoseok
I just want to go back to my room and get lost in my journ-
He stops himself, face palming himself mentally. He makes his way over to his seat around the dining table before he sits down and his dad eyes him weirdly.
Hoseok
Never mind that, Sure. I will accompany you to work, father.
He says, not because he wanted to but because that was probably the only way he would get his dad to not question him further.
Mr. Jung
Being frank, I hadn't known you'd agree to join me. You always say no.
The man says, a bit too happy.
Hoseok
Be glad I said yes.
Mr. Jung
I'll be even gladder if you behave for the entire day.
Hoseok
Is that not too much to ask of your poor son.
He jokes, a hint of a smile on his face as his mom places a plate filled with food before him. She always gave him way too much.
Mr. Jung
You are far from poor my child. Now eat up.
He says, as he writes into his newspaper, it is as if something in his mind flipped and he turns to his wife, a bit concerned.
Mr. Jung
Are Jimin and Taehyung ill? Why have they not woken yet?
Mrs. Jung
I will check on them my dear.
She tells snd he nods, seemingly calming down a bit. He sighs before he turns his attention back to his paper.
Mrs. Jung leaves the two, heading up the stairs to find her other two sons. Hoseok and Mr. Jung sit in silence for a while, every now and then his dad would turn the newspaper to him asking him to find the word he was missing but then he'd get so confused yet proud with how quickly Hoseok was able to discover the words of the puzzle.
Once he completes the puzzle, he closes it and turns to Hoseok.
Mr. Jung
Seeing as Dari is getting married now, you should be looking for a wife. You are well over marrying age.
Hoseok rolls his eyes, and he lets his head cock to the side lazily so he could give his dad a pointed look, making his exhaustion clear.
Hoseok
What is the reason I need to marry so soon? Dari and Yoongi met for a day and suddenly they feel it is right to get married so soon.
He says, a bit of agitation in his voice. He may or may not be still upset about the whole Yoongi marrying Dari bit.
Mr. Jung
Again, with that Hoseok?
Hoseok
I am incredibly sorry father, but marriage is pointless to me. Even more so now than ever before
Mr. Jung
I shall find you a wife to marry, before your 18th birthday.
Hoseok
If it is your wish, father.
Mr. Jung
Having a wife is an incredible thing, child. It is your partner for life, someone who you may rely on when things are too much to bare alone. A man with a wife is held high off the ground while a man who is alone is looked down on. Is that the life you want to live?
Hoseok scoffs, folding his arms.
Hoseok
I want to live a life where all I see is the eyes of peace.
The man stares at him in confusion before he shakes his head and he chuckles to himself before he speaks.
Mr. Jung
You surely get harder and harder to understand by the day.
He says, standing to his feet before he pulls Hoseok out of his own chair and the next thing he knew was he was being pulled to a carriage, his dad's hand holding him so tightly. It reminds him of when he was younger, he and his dad were practically inseperable.
And in a way, they still were but just as much as before.
Mrs. Jung
Son, are you okay? You do not usually sleep til after morning.
Mrs. Jung starts, as she pulls the curtains in the boy's room, making him squint his eyes rapidly at the sudden brightness.
Jimin
I am fine mother, I am just thinking.
He lets out and he sits up, resting his back against the bed frame, a sigh leaving his full lips.
Mrs. Jung
May I ask about what?
She questions, and she sits beside him. He looked stressed.
Jimin
Well, there is this girl... she... I like her but she is getting married.
He says, and he thinks about what she would think if she knew he was not actually talking about a girl.
Jimin
I know I should let her go but... I... It's hard.
Mrs. Jung
My dear child, Do not cry for a woman who cannot see your worth. You deserve someone who will risk everything just to please you.
He smiles, because Jungkook used to do that. They were okay, things were good.
Jimin
I... I cannot help myself, I keep thinking that she... does not wish to marry someone else.
He's trying to tell himself that Jungkook wanted him and that he didn't actually want to be with the girl he was with a couple nights ago.
Mrs. Jung
Do you know that I had not been your father's first love? He was in love with another woman, but I made sure that I showed him that I could give him the whole world. And in the end, here we are. I fought first but he fought harder.
Jimin smiles at that, they did have a nice relationship. He could tell that they'd do anything for each other and growing up, Jimin always wanted that. For a while, he let himself believe that Jungkook would be the one to give him that.
Mrs. Jung
After I had Hoseok, there were so many things wrong. I was incredibly sad. I was in pain and I was not sure if being a mother was the right thing for me which is possibly the biggest crime you could ever say as a woman but your father, he was understanding. I was so sad and upset that I could not even look at Hoseok.
Mrs. Jung
Your dad was the one who had to take care of Hoseok for the about 6 months after he was born. Your dad did so much to make sure I was okay and to make Hoseok was even better. Eventually I came to my senses and I became what I needed to be. Hoseok's mother.
Mrs. Jung
and soon enough, you came along. and though i'm not your real mom, it's been a pleasure watching you grow into such an intelligent, gentle man. If you want this girl, then perhaps trying to get her attention for a bit longer won't be too bad.
Mrs. Jung
but if you know it'll only end in you getting hurt, let her be.
Mrs. Jung tells and Jimin sighs, before he leans into her and he pulls her into a hug.
he whispers, softly against her shoulder.
Jimin
And you are the only mother I know. I love you.
Mrs. Jung smiles softly, holding him tightly.
Mr. Jin
Hoseok, how tall have you grown?
Hoseok sighs, he swears he's heard that same phrase 5 times already since he got here and if it wasn't enough to upset him, he had to sit through a 3 hour trial that he did not care one bit for.
Hoseok
I would say I am average sized.
He deadpanned, and the older gentleman stared at him a little shocked and confused then he stared at Mr. Jung, who sends him an apologetic look.
Mr. Jin
Well, I will see you around. It was nice to see you again.
The man tells and then he tucks his hands into his coat before he starts running over to his car, parked a little distance away.
Mr. Jung
17 years of the finest training and you are still so rude.
Hoseok smiles at him, tightlipped.
Hoseok
How had I been Ill mannered? It is true, I am not tall enough for it to be mentioned.
The man sighs, a little defeated before he starts walking over to their carriage.
He says, and Hoseok follows behind him. They remain quiet until they make their way inside the carriage. They get a bit further away from the court before he dad finally asks.
Mr. Jung
Did you enjoy today?
Hoseok
Not really, I had not realized by join you "at work", you meant to see a trial.
Mr. Jung
I thought maybe you'd be inspired.
He defends and Hoseok rolls his eyes, pulling his hands from his coat seeing as they were no longer cold.
Hoseok
No. I am even less of a fan now, than I had been.
Mr. Jung
What do you want to be then, son? Do you expect to live under my roof without a wife for the rest of your life.
Hoseok
Again with the talk of a wife.
Mr. Jung
Are you afraid you will not find love? Child you will, look at me and your lovely mother.
He sounded genuine, like he really wanted to understand where Hoseok's resentment was coming from but he never did know how to communicate with Hoseok. He knew exactly how to get through to all his children, except Hoseok.
Hoseok
Talk to me not about your love for mother, surely it is not enough if you'd see other women while you were with her.
Mr. Jung's gaze moves from the road to Hoseok at that, he was shocked to say the least. He wasn't quite sure why Hoseok would even say such a thing to him. It was borderline disrespectful.
Hoseok
If you loved her, we would all have the same mother, but we do not.
He says, and his voice is monotoned, there's careless attitude he had as he stared out the window of the carriage.
Mr. Jung
If you must know, Jimin and Dari were conceived by other women because your mother did not wish to give birth after you.
Mr. Jung
She got enough courage to try again with Taehyung, but after him she didn't want to give birth again.
Hoseok looks over at his dad, almost remorseful. His dad had never said anything about that until so how was he supposed to know that his mom was okay with it?
Mr. Jung
Your mother and I have raised you for so long now, I'd think you'd possess enough respect for us to not question our love. Then again, you clearly respect or care for no one other than yourself so I am not sure why i still give you as much credit as I do.
Hoseok looks away from the man and back through the window, they were close to the house. Truly, he just wanted to get home and go to his room. He's been outside for long enough.
Mr. Jung
Yoongi will be over for dinner, I would appreciate it if you could not embarrass us before him.
Mr. Jung told as the carriage came to a stop before their house, and Hoseok chuckles unimpressed.
Hoseok
Right? Because that is all I bring to this family.
He says, seemingly a little hurt by that but before Mr. Jung can say anything he gets out of the carriage and he quickly makes his way to the front door.
He passes in his when he hears a familiar voice that makes his chest grow heavy and he looks up.
Yoongi
Hi. Min Yoongi, here!
Yoongi
Hello! I am Min Yoongi.
Hoseok watches as he paces before the door of his house, and he wills himself not to smile at how cute he thought it was. The other seemed to be nervous.
Yoongi
Hi. I am here to see Dari, My name is-
Hoseok
You don't need to be nervous. My family does not bite unless you are me.
He says as he continues walking up the stairs, and he stops before Yoongi, who stares at him flustered and his cheeks start to heat up.
Hoseok doesn't let him finish, he'd rather not prolong this conversation.
He says and Yoongi watches as he turns and makes his way into the house and he finds a bit strange that the other didn't even try to joke around more with him. That was quite unlike him.
Yoongi sighs but he doesn't get to think more as he sees the door open even wider and Dari stands in the doorway, a bright smile on her face as she stared dowm at him and he returns her smile.
Yoongi
Hi. Sorry I am late. I -
She shakes her head at that.
Dari
It is no problem. Come in.
She steps aside to allow him to walk into the house. He's not sure why he was so nervous. He has been into the house before, maybe two or three times but two of those three times the house had been empty, only Hoseok was there with him and the other time he met Jimin and Taehyung but now he was going to meet the other's mom. That in itself was nerve wracking.
Yoongi
Yes, Was I not supposed to?
He asks and she shakes her head, smiling at his silly question.
Dari
No. It is fine. Next time, I will send a personal carriage to get you.
Yoongi
You are far too kind. I am perfectly capable of walking.
Dari
I know but you will get here quicker.
Before he can try to respond, he hears a voice behind him pulling his attention from Dari.
Jimin
Oh, Hi. I don't know if you remember me but, I am Jimin.
Yoongi
Yes. I know, I am Yoongi. It's nice to see you again.
He smiles at the other, he seemed friendly but that didn't make it any easier not to think that he would eventually not like him.
Jimin
Yea, I don't see many men shorter than me so it's always a pleasure when I do.
Dari says, as if to warn him and Jimin laughs rolling his eyes.
Jimin
What? I was only joking. Don't mind that.
Jimin takes Yoongi's hand and he pulls him over to the dining table, where Taehyung had been
Jimin
Taehyung, will you not come say hi to Yoongi.
Taehyung
Wait. I need to finish this puzzle before dad gets back and scolds me for it.
He says mischievously as he wrote in the paper.
Dari
He is back, I saw Hoseok go to his room just now.
Taehyung
He has been awfully quiet since yesterday.
Jimin nods, still holding Yoongi's hand in his.
Jimin
It is rather unusual. Did you guys argue, Yoongi?
He turns to Yoongi, who shrugs.
Yoongi
No. We... We are fine.
Jimin
Well, something is truly wrong because he does not usually act like this.
Jimin says and they all turn to look back at the sound of Hosoek's voice.
Hoseok
If you are to talk about me without my presence, wouldn't it be kind to make sure I cannot hear what you are saying about me?
He was at the very top of the staircase, looking down at them while he leaned against the railing.
Jimin
brother, pardon us but we are not used to you like this.
Hoseok
I am fine, Jimin. I had an argument with our father.
He explains but still, no one realy bought that that was the real reason for his sudden overly broodiness
Taehyung
You and dad argue all the time though.
Hoseok
No need to rub the fact that he hates me in my face, brother.
Taehyung gulps a little, he wasn't trying to insinuate that but it makes him unbelievably guilty to think that he made Hoseok feel that way.
Taehyung
That's not what I-
Hoseok
I am fine. Do not worry your little heads about me and I will be in my room
He says, and they watch as he leaves, neither of them speak until the door of his room can be heard closing.
Dari
He did not even acknowledge you, Yoongi. Perhaps, he is upset with you?
Yoongi looks to Dari with a gulp, was he still upset about the marriage? Yoongi sighs a bit. He felt bad for the other's because really he was the reason Hoseok was being so insufferable, even if it was indirect.
Yoongi
I will go speak with him for a moment, excuse me.
Jimin nods before he removes his hand from Yoongi's and they all watch as Yoongi made his way up the stairs towards Hoseok's room.
Yoongi
Your siblings are worried.
He starts as he closes the door, and Hoseok doesn't even look up at him once.
Hoseok
Everywhere I go I am troubled with disturbances. How unfortunate?
He laments and Yoongi sighs.
Yoongi
Hoseok, are you mad at me?
Hoseok
Now, what reasons would I have to be mad at you for? Min Yoongi.
He laughs at that, they've known each other for years and not once has he ever called by his full name.
Yoongi
Hoseok, I just want everything to be okay. Let's not prolong this. Say whatever it is you need to say to me so that you can stop being so noticeably irritable.
Hoseok
As I have said just moments ago, I am fine. I would rather be writing so could you close the door on your way out.
Yoongi makes his way over to the other and he pulls the journal from Hoseok's hand, and it is only then he looks up at him, and it's not like the way he usually does.
His eyes were soft whenever he looked at him before now, now there was a hint of judgement in them.
Yoongi
You're such a child, you know.
Yoongi
and that's insane seeing as you are indeed the oldest here apart from your parents.
Yoongi
I am getting married and that upsets you so much that you take it out on everyone else as if it is our fault you feel the way you do. It's pathetic.
Hoseok
Fine Yoongi, I am upset but it doesn't matter. It won't stop the marriage will it. You'll move on to the next chapter of your life, without me.
Yoongi sighs, he has no intention of arguing with the other. Truly, he just wants things to go back to how they once were.
Yoongi
Just... tell me about a dream you had. like you usually do.
He says, and Yoongi sighs.
Yoongi
Have you not had any dreams, lately?
Yoongi moves closer to him, but he sits in the couch next to the other waiting for his response.
Hoseok
I haven't had dreams in a long time.
Yoongi
Huh? But you tell me about them all the time.
Hoseok
I'd sleep but no dream accompanied me so I make them up some times.
He closes his eyes and Yoongi looks at him in disbelief, did he make up some those dreams his had then? he's not sure whether to be impressed or upset.
Yoongi
What? But why would you do that?
Hoseok
You love listening to my rants about my dreams. truthfully, i thought that was the main reason you even keep me around so I just wrote some fake scenarios sometimes and I'd memorize them.
Yoongi
Hmm, You shouldn't have lied.
Yoongi
We've known each other for a long time, Hoseok. You should be aware that I'd care not whether you have dreams anymore.
Hoseok opens his eyes at that, and he turns to look at Yoongi before he sighs and he just lets his head rest on the younger's shoulder as he listened.
Yoongi
Although, I like listening to your brain at work.
Yoongi
Sometimes, I wish you'd tell me more about... how you feel. Sometimes, I feel like I know more about your dreams than I do you.
Yoongi lets his head rest on Hoseok's head, he knows he shouldn't but still, it felt good so he makes no attempt to move.
Hoseok
What do you want to know?
Yoongi
How comes you never introduced me to Dari before?
Hoseok remained silent for a while.
Hoseok
Dari lives in Busan, with her mother.
Hoseok
Jimin and Dari are children of my father, but not of my mother.
Hoseok
Dari's mother took her, but she still allows her to visit sometimes. Whereas, Jimin's mom wanted nothing to do with him since he was little.
He hadn't known, they seemed like the perfectly family he'd have never guessed that they were not of the same mother.
Yoongi
What is the reason you are so upset about me getting married?
Hoseok takes a little longer answer to that.
Hoseok
Perhaps, I just do not want to lose you.
Hoseok
Or maybe, i just realized that I am not going to be the one you marry and that makes me want to cry again.
He laughs to himself as he sneaked his hand into Yoongi's
Hoseok
I truly am pathetic.
He says, playing around with the other's fingers.
Yoongi
do not say things like that.
Hoseok
You had said the same thing just minutes ago, if i recall correctly.
Yoongi
I just want us to go back to how we had been. I will be your brother in law and then you can read me your stories all the time. Does that not sound amazing?
Yoongi smiles, that did sound amazing but Hoseok did not share the same sentiment.
Hoseok
Amazing to you, but torture for me.
Yoongi
Well, you don't have to read your stories to me if-
Hoseok
You don't get it, Yoongi
He says, a bit louder than he intended but he was frustrated. He's been frustrated.
Hoseok
It's not about the stories... it has never been about the stories. Why can't you see that what I feel for you is real?
Hoseok
Just the thought of you is enough to make me drive myself crazy. Seeing you smile makes me unbelievably happy. I can't count on my hands how many stories i've written of you, how many dreams i've had of you and us and... the best part of my days are always the time i spend with you.
Hoseok
I thought it was cute how you'd try to send me away all the time despite wanting me to stay, and how you always shut down any idea of me having feelings for you. I honestly thought that maybe you were just too scared to admit that you felt something for me but...
Hoseok
if you did then you'd have said no, right? You're getting married, and to my sister. How am I supposed to be your brother in law if I can't look at you without feeling the urge to kiss you and call you mine.
Hoseok
Does that sound amazing to you?
He questions and Yoongi turns away from him, folding his arms defensively.
Yoongi
I think you should get some sleep.
Yoongi
You'll feel better by the morning
Hoseok scoffs at that, it hurt to be honest. He keeps putting himself on the line just for Yoongi to shove him off.
Hoseok
I'm not fucking sick.
and now it was Yoongi's turn to raise his voice. He was getting upset.
Yoongi
Are you sure? It's not even about the fact that I'm a man anymore but what could you have possibly seen in me to make like this? I'm not special enough to claim your love even if I wanted to.
His tone switches completely, he sounded almost reassuring, like he wanted Yoongi to believe that he was and it works for a second but Yoongi was too stubborn to think on it for too long.
Hoseok
and I wish I saw you the same way you see yourself, then i'd be okay.
His words get cut off, when Hoseok's lips finds his out of the blue, and for a second he almost got lost in it, almost kissed back but he pulls himself together, snd he pushes Hoseok away.
His words falter yet again, when Hoseok's lips finds his again and he hates how with each touch it gets harder to push him away.
He says with one last push and Hoseok stops, this time just lets his forehead rest on Yoongi's with his eyes closed.
Hoseok
Can't you at least pretend like you...
Hoseok
like you feel it too.
He pleaded, and Yoongi bites his lips before he sighs.
Yoongi
I should get back downstairs.
He says and he pulls himself out of Hoseok's gri, heading for the door.
Hoseok
But I... I don't want you to go.
Yoongi wills himself not to look back because he sounded so sad, and all he wanted to do was hug him, tell him he would stsy forever but he can't. friends don't do that. especially not when you're a man.
Hoseok
You said you'd still be here. you said you weren't gonna leave.
Yoongi walks out, shutting the door behind him and he feels himself tearing up a little. He's not even sure why? Hoseok would get over himself eventually. He was just confused, when some pretty girl comes along he'll reslized that he was just saying anything.
that what he tells himself to feel better as he made his way down the stairs, back in the company of Hoseok's siblings.
Still he couldn't shake his guilt.

Well, even Hobi is rebellious, they should see through why he changed suddenly like... From Talkative to silent. Even though he is kinda disrespectful he is talking about what's in his mind. Can't blame though. Damn, it's so hard right now. I am truly sorry for Hoseok
