Her Husband, My Love [Yoonseok | Sope | Taejinjoon | Jikook ]
I want a wife, not you
Mr. Min
Have you met any women as of yet?
Yoongi looks over to his father as he drank a bit of his soup. He gulps before he responds.
Yoongi
Uhm... No, not yet.
Mr. Min
Of course, you have not. As a man, you need a woman by your side. What'll happen to you when your mom can't tend to you as before?
Yoongi
I'm trying hard father but-
The man had no interest in Yoongi's excuses.
Mr. Min
I'm sure your friend Hoseok has all the women bowing at his feet. Ask him to set you up with a female.
Mr. Min
Do as I say Yoongi.
The man order and he stood, leaving his wife and Yoongi at the table.
He whispers and his mother, rests a hand on his shoulder offering him support.
Hoseok
As my birthday is in a few months, I would like to host a party.
Hoseok tells, as he sat in his chair at the dining table. Everyone had already started eating as he had been late, as usual.
Mr. Jung
A party? You are only turning 18 my child. A party is not essential.
Dari
A party would be delightful. Being away for so long, I've missed hanging out with my brothers. This party could give us some real bonding time.
Hoseok looks over to his sister, she had returned from Busan just last night. She usually stayed there with her mother, but she comes to visit every now and then. She had gotten taller in the few months she's been away.
Jimin
Also, Hoseok has all the women fawning over him. If he hosts this party he could be married by year's end.
Hoseok turns to Jimin, who sat next to him, with a glare. Was he trying to set him up?
Hoseok
Jimin, quiet down. I already made it known to you all, I have no desire to marry. Not yet, at least.
Taehyung
Marriage is pointless, the way I see it. Can two people not just be in love without marriage?
Taehyung raises, picking at his food.
Mrs. Jung
You children really have your own way, huh?
Hoseok
You raised us to be outspoken mother, blame yourself.
Mr. Jung
Right now, we must focus on getting Dari married. She is fresh and I'm sure many men will be lining up for you.
She rolls her eyes, as she eats her food.
Mr. Jung
Well then, hurry and choose one.
Mr. Jung
And you boys, even if marriage is not something you want, you must act accordingly and do it anyway. You need to bring children into this world so that we can carry on our family's legacy.
Jimin and Taehyung oblige but Hoseok was the problem child, his own parents called him that. He was always the child that did what he wanted, and when he wanted not caring what others said.
Hoseok
I'm not marrying yet, dad
He tells and his father lets out a deep breath before he folds his arms and he looks at Hoseok, with a dead expression.
Mr. Jung
Hoseok, why must you always insist on being so insolent. You are upsetting me.
Hoseok
Well, I can't just let myself be forced to do something I don't want to.
Mr. Jung
What is the reason why you don't want to be married?
Hoseok
I.... I just do not wish to. Not yet.
Mr. Jung
There is no reason, you just enjoy playing with my peace.
Hoseok
Father, I care not for your peace. Frankly, It is not like you care much for mine. I just do not wish to marry yet, I don't know-
Mr. Jung
Shut your mouth, now.
The man shouts, and the tension around the table is high. Only Hoseok could get his father so riled up.
Mr. Jung
Watch your tone, young man.
Hoseok just laughs softly before he pushes his chair back and he stands.
Mrs. Jung
Wait, son... At least eat first.
Hoseok as he climbs the staircase to his room, and he goes over to his book collection and he grabs his journal from between two books on his bookshelf before he is out the door again.
He passes his family at the dining room before he runs out of the house and he finds himself in the small hut, a bit further from the house. It stood just before the family lake.
This was his little safe place. Where he went when he needed quiet. He would write many of his thoughts down, his little stories.
Some times he did think about submitting them to the newspaper but then he thinks reasonably and stories and poems were the work of women. His stories would probably be seen as mediocre at best so he thought for now, sharing them with Yoongi was the best he could do.
Yoongi was the only audience he'd ever need.
He smiles as an idea popped into his head at his thoughts Yoongi and just like that he begins writing a short story. He really thinks Yoongi was his muse.
Hoseok's eye leaves his journal before he lookd up at the door being pulled open. He smiles as Yoongi's small figure popped through, closing the door behind him.
Hoseok
Yoongi. I... You came to see me? What an odd thing.
He smiles fondly, closing his journal before he sits up and he waits for Yoongi to take a seat next to him.
Yoongi
I... I'm sorry to bother but-
Hoseok
Why, Yoongi we have been acquainted for far over a decade. You should be certain by now that your presence is never a bother.
Hoseok
In fact, I was just feeling a bit under the weather and now I am feeling splendid after seeing you.
Yoongi sighs and he turns away from Hoseok, a little jumpy.
Yoongi
See, this is why I don't make a habit of visiting you.
Yoongi says, and Hoseok expects it to be a joke but he sounded too serious.
Yoongi
You say weird things like that.
Hoseok
I thought you liked when I express myself.
Yoongi
I do, but you speak... to me like as man who is missing his wife would.
Hoseok
What if... that is how I feel?
Yoongi looks at the other, confused. He looks away with a sigh before he speaks again.
Yoongi
I... Hoseok, that is not why I am here.
Hoseok
You're not here to see me?
Hearing the disappointment in Hoseok's voice makes him feel bad. He didn't mind spending time with Hoseok. Honestly, every moment with Hoseok was always fun and a time for him to let loose and do and say what he wanted but right now he had to get himself a wife.
Yoongi
I am but... I... My dad sent me.
Hoseok seemed concerned, as if he was willing to do anything to help and that made Yoongi feel a bit better about asking.
Yoongi
I... You know I am almost 18 now, uhm... way over marriage age so I...
Hoseok
You want to marry me.
Yoongi stops, hearing that made his eyes shoot wide. How could he say that with such seriousness?
Yoongi
Stop joking around. Can you not see I'm being serious.
Hoseok
I was not making a joke.
He says in defeat, he knows he's not supposed to use such vile words, especially not in front of a member of the first class residency and the son of the Chief at that but Hoseok was starting to make him go crazy.
Hoseok
I like it when you swear.
He mutters and Yoongi stands, hands on his hips before he turns back to face Hoseok. Hoseok always had this monotoned way of speaking. Yoongi wasn't sure how he did it and he could never tell what Hoseok was really thinking. When he was joking opposed to when he was being serious because everything sounded the same.
Yoongi
My dad wants you to find me a girl to marry.
He turns to look at the other, so intently it makes Yoongi want to shrink under his gaze.
Yoongi
I know that it is embarrassing but I... I don't know how to attract women. You...
Yoongi
You are eloquent, and you are intelligent, and you're wealthy and....
Yoongi
As for me, I am not.
Yoongi
I just, can you not convince someone to maybe try giving me a chance.
Hoseok says, and Yoongi feels a little exposed to be honest. He hadn't expected that. Hoseok was always so nice and kind to him and he never asked the other for anything so he thought if he just asked for this one thing then surely Hoseok would be able to grant him that, right? but he had guessed wrong.
Yoongi
My dad grows more distressed as every day passes and I still have not yet found a wife. I... You are the only one I am acquainted with that can help.
Yoongi stands from beside the other, he was truly desperate.
Yoongi
I beg of you... Help me.
He pleads as he stared down at Hoseok, with frustrated eyes but the other had not budged. Yoongi could tell that he'd be getting the same answer as before.
Yoongi
Hoseok, I beg you, please. Help me this once. I will not ask you for anything further. I give you my word.
He says, falling to his knees, almost in tears. He knew that if he went home without any good news for his father then he'd be upset.
Hoseok
and get off the floor.
He tells and Yoongi gulps before he sits up and he looks at Hoseok troubled. Why can't he just do this? After all, were they not friends?
Yoongi
I thought... I was a friend to you.
Yoongi whispers as he stands from the floor and he turns to leave but he doesn't get far before Hoseok pulls him back.
Hoseok
Where are you going?
He says, so calmly as if he didn't just have Yoongi pleading at his feet.
Yoongi whispers, tears in his eyes and he pulls his hand out of Hoseok's grip, making the other confused.
Yoongi
If I do not get married I will certain be a bigger joke in society than I have already made myself.
Hoseok
You are not a joke.
Yoongi laughs humorlessly. When would Hoseok learn? He views him way higher than he actually was? and he does appreciate the occasional compliments but at the same time, it negates the struggles that he had to go through, and Hoseok didn't seem to understand that.
Yoongi
You should really get your eyes checked, Hoseok. This entire time you have known me you have refused to see things for what they truly are.
Yoongi
I am not as magnificent as you think I am.
Yoongi
I am tiny, I grew only 2cm in the past year, my body is so thin and I'm terribly shy. You are the only person I'm willing to talk to because... you make me comfortable.
Yoongi
and I just asked you for one thing, one fücking thing. I've never asked anyone for anything for i fear the answer would be no and I... I chose to ask you because... I.. I thought you of all people would try to help me... and you can't just grant me this.
Hoseok
No. I cannot find you a partner except if it is myself.
Yoongi
You are so delusive. You do not love me. You're a man, Hoseok.
He says and he stretches it out for Yoongi to take. So calm, so unbothered and it makes Yoongi calm down a little.
Yoongi
No. I am going home.
Yoongi tells but Hoseok holds him in place so that he couldn't leave.
Hoseok pleads before Yoongi gives in, and he lets the other lead him back to the seat.
Hoseok
I wrote something for you.
He says and he hands Yoongi the journal before the younger spoke.
Yoongi
You know that I don't like to read..
Hoseok
I'll read it to you then.
Yoongi hugs himself as he listened to Hoseok reading his story. Usually Hoseok wrote maybe 1 paragraph of something he found interesting but this was more of a story. Something he suggested that the other do awhile back. He smiles a bit as he listened.
Yoongi
I... You write stories now?
Hoseok
I took your advice.
Yoongi bites his lips and he looks away from the older to stop himself from smiling. It made him a little mirthful knowing Hoseok listened to him.
Hoseok
And I wrote it about you.
Yoongi
What? That person is nothing like me.
He raises an eyebrow, he wrote a story about a troubled prince, he may be troubled but a prince? not at all.
Hoseok
I think perhaps it would be a marvellous day for the world when you to stop feeling so pitiful for yourself all the time. You're always so shy and i think it's time you gain some confidence in yourself and in your feelings.
Hoseok
I... Know you like me too, Yoongi.
Yoongi
Men can't like men, Hoseok.
Yoongi laughs before he turns to Hoseok, and he says with a deadpanned expression.
Yoongi
Have you lost your brain?
Hoseok
If you feel nothing then, I'll leave you alone and I will find you the most beautiful wife.
He says, contemplating whether he should take the other up on his offer or not.
Hoseok
Yes. Kiss me and I'll do it.
Hoseok
But if you do, I am certain you'll recognize that I'm the one you desire, not some girl who you don't care for.
Yoongi looks over at the other, then he looks away. He shouldn't do this but he knew he had to if he was going to ever find himself a wife. The thing is, he has had thoughts of kissing Hoseok before. He's not entirely sure if he won't like it and just saying that makes him want to jump in a well.
Yoongi
I will not and I don't know how to kiss. I've never kissed anyone.
Hoseok whispers and he moves closer to Yoongi, who breathing picks up. Was he really going to do this?
Yoongi's eyes finds Hoseok's for a second but before long he looks away, too nervous to keep his gaze but he doesn't get to collect himself for too long before Hoseok's palm finds his cheek and his face is being fixed so that he was staring at the other again, only this time they were much closer.
Before he could even gather his thoughts, he feels Hoseok's lips against his and gasps a bit at the sudden contact. He was unsure of what to do. He had never done it before. His only experience with kisses were those he saw on TV.
In a matter of seconds he lets his eyes rest and he sinks into the kiss a bit, resting completely against Hoseok. He felt a little surreal. It was just a simple kiss, the touch of lips yet it felt like he was being drained in the best way possible.
Hoseok pulls away, and his gaze lingers on Yoongi for a bit before he speaks.
Hoseok
You cannot convince me that you felt nothing.
He says and Yoongi's eyes finally open but as it does, Hoseok was attacking his lips once more and he just let him. No objection, which was bad on his part because not only had he blown his opportunity of getting a wife but now Hoseok was never going to let him forget about this.
Hoseok pulls away much faster this time and he leaves another quick peck on the younger's lips before he pulls away completely, with the smuggest smile on his lips.
He says, and his hand flies to his mouth as he realizes in full depth what he had just done. He kissed a man. His best friend. He kissed him.
He says and he stands, almost panicked.
Yoongi
I... I'm such a mess. Why would I let you-... Fück.
Hoseok stands and he stops the other from his unnecessary pacing, and he kisses the other's forehead before he pulls him into a hug and Yoongi folds his fist against Hoseok chest.
Yoongi
Stop we... we cant.
All he had to do was push him away.
Hoseok
You know you want me.
One push, that's all. simple.
but it was hard, because it felt so good to be held like that.
Hoseok
You just let me kiss you, Yoongi. Multiple times, you could have pushed me away after the first kiss, but you did not. Admit it, You feel something for me.
He says and he finally pushes the other away, but Hoseok was too stubborn to just let him leave just like that.
Hoseok
You know this means, I won't find you a wife after all.
He whisper yells. He screwed up and he had no one to blame but himself. He got carried away. His father would be so ashamed.
Hoseok
Stop lying to yourself. Admit it, you like me too.
Hoseok
Wouldn't life be easier if you just admitted. it?
Yoongi
You think I haven't thought about what life would be like if I had felt for you the way you claim you feel for me? My family would discard me. Your family would discard you. Then what?
He asks, Hoseok just refused to be logical. They would never work even if he wanted it to.
Hoseok
My family wouldn't. Sure, they'll be upset but they won't get rid of me.
Yoongi
Well, that's great for you.
Yoongi
but still, doesn't change the fact that it's not for me.
Hoseok
We can stay in secret then.
Hoseok suggest and Yoongi groans before he laughs humourlessly. Hoseok just would not listen to reason at all.
Yoongi
No. Honestly, I think it is time this friendship came to an end.
He tells, and probably when he was less heated and more collected he would realize that this was a mistake because his main source of joy and enjoyment in life came from his friendship with Hoseok but, he just needed to distance himself from the other because now he just can't staring at the other's lips and he shouldn't.
Hoseok
You don't mean that.
His usual monotoned voice changes a bit, he sounded saddened, confused, panicked. Yoongi feels bad, to be honest.
Yoongi
I need to find a wife and you need to find one too. You will go on to be a great writer, Hosoek. I don't want you to ruin that because of me. Just.... I hope one day I can read what you release.
He says and he lets his hand slip out from Hoseok's grip as the older speaks.
Hoseok
I will never let you push me away.
He tells and Yoongi sighs before he speaks.
Yoongi
I want a wife Hoseok, Not you.
He says and he doesn't look back at the other, he just quickly made his way away from the hut and he ran straight home, hoping this wasn't a huge mistake.
