I drowned myself in alcohol for days, not wanting to know anything or anyone, but I knew I had to face the situation, so after drinking as if there was no tomorrow, I got up and took a shower.

"Alright, Mauricio," he finally said. "I know you are aware of the consequences of your actions."
I just nodded, it wasn't that I was afraid of him, but I respected him, not because he was older, but also because he was Carla's father.
"Well, in that case, I want to inform you that I have just revoked the power of attorney that allowed you to run the firm." I knew this would happen.
"Alright, I understand, sir," I said.
"I don’t want to get into the details of what happened with Carla, she is a strong woman and will know how to handle it, so I will let her manage the issue by herself, but I will tell you one thing, if I don’t break your face it's because I promised Carla I wouldn't, I hope you accept the divorce settlement," the man said.
My father-in-law handed me the documents which informed me of my dismissal and everything I was entitled to for my years of service.
"It's sad that everything ended this way, I am a fair man and know how to separate things, but this is much bigger than me, Mauricio, you hurt my beloved daughter and that's something I can't forgive," Antonio sighed. "But, if there's something I must tell you and thank you for, the work you did at the firm was excellent, you are a great lawyer and will go far, so be careful with the path you choose."
His words were sincere, and I had nothing to say, the truth was, I had no reason to fight. After all, what is happening is the result of my poor decisions.
After that, Mr. Antonio left to allow me to gather my things, I felt awful, they say that what goes up like foam, falls like a coconut. Whoever coined that phrase was right. Once again, I was down, at the same place where I started.

"Unless you haven't realized, I have many problems to solve, besides that, I am now jobless," Mauricio was tired of listening to her.
"What do you mean you're jobless?" she asked.
"Yes, I was fired," he replied, closing the trunk.
"They can't do that, you've earned your place in this firm, a part of it belongs to you, they should be thankful that for eight years you put up with that bitch," Sofia said, not realizing Antonio was there.
"So this is the type of woman you like, you should be careful because it's these kinds that lead you to ruin," Antonio's voice was chilling.
He approached Sofia, stopping just a few inches from her.
"Don't ever talk about my daughter with that dirty mouth again," Sofia stood frozen.
While Mauricio felt worse, he kept messing up more and more. Antonio left them alone, Mauricio got into his car, leaving Sofia full of anger.
"Damn idiot," she shouted.
Then she got into her car and sped away, knowing something was happening to Mauricio, his behavior wasn't just about the problems, something else was going on.
