Helena was feeling a bit flustered, nervous. William insisted on talking about their relationship.
William: Why are you with him, Doctor?
Helena: I'm your physiotherapist, I can't be talking about my personal life like this.
William: We have the whole night, you may be my physiotherapist but that doesn't stop us from getting to know each other.
Helena: There's no need.
William: Are you afraid, Doctor?
Helena: Afraid of what?
William: You tell me.
Helena: Let's watch.
Helena goes back to the couch, William goes there too, standing in front of the TV, listening to her breathing.
William: Why are you with him, Doctor?
Helena: What happened to you?
William: Don't change the subject.
Helena: If we're going to get to know each other, then start.
William: It's not that simple.
Helena: Yes, it is.
He takes a deep breath, William was trying to be nice, there was nothing else he could do so he tried.
William: A car accident, we were at a party with friends and we drank too much. One of them was hanging out of the car window while I was driving, we were all really drunk. A speeding car was coming towards us, I tried to swerve to avoid it because of my friend but it was in vain. The car flipped over and he was thrown out, I was trapped in the wreckage.
Helena: My God.
William: Yeah, that's what happened.
Helena: So that's why you blame yourself? You're not at fault for anything, you were all intoxicated and you had no idea that would happen.
William: His mother blames me. If I hadn't been drinking, none of this would have happened. I was irresponsible, Doctor. If I had been responsible, none of this would have happened.
Helena: You're not at fault, William, or should I say, Mr. William. You're not at fault, all of you were drinking, so it could have been you, your friend, any of you. He was wrong for being in that state in the car, but he was also drunk. You're not at fault at all.
William: Are you sure, Doctor?
Helena: Yes, be certain of that. It's not only tragic things that happen to you, many families go through similar things, you can't blame yourself. You have to get up from this chair and live your life.
William: Why are you dating him?
Helena: Have you ever loved someone? Is that why you're being cold like this, or is it because of the guilt you carry?
William: Don't dodge the question, Doctor.
Yes, I have loved someone. I was left when I was in that situation. Who would date a disabled man, right?
Helena: Don't say that, if it ended it's because it wasn't meant to be. If it was true love, she would be here with you. None of this changes, someone who loves you stays by your side no matter the circumstances.
William: Do you love your boyfriend?
Helena: We're working towards that.
William: So you don't love him, like I said.
Helena: I'm focused on my career, it's not exactly a relationship, he's a surgeon at the hospital and we met, got close, and it developed into this. We've been at it for a few months.
William: And it's not a relationship? Tell me, Doctor, are you afraid of being alone?
Helena: What? No, it's not that, I like him.
William: Do you like him, Doctor?
Helena: Yes.
William: Are you sure?
Helena: Yes.
William: Then why didn't you tell him you're here? If you've been dating for months and you don't consider it a relationship, why are you so focused on your career and not your relationship when you're already famous? I don't think that excuse is working.
Helena: Stop it, I like him, we're just going with the flow.
William: Do you like him?...he gets closer
Helena: Yes.
William gets closer, he adjusts the pillow on the couch, Helena is nervous, William gets even closer and looks at her.
William: How much do you like him?
He holds her face and kisses her, Helena is paralyzed, her heart races, he was too fast. The scent of William's cologne fills Helena's nose, her body tingles, a sensation she's never felt before.
William invades her mouth, he kisses her until they both run out of breath. Helena ends up responding to the kiss, he kisses her gently and calmly. Now that she has responded, he holds the back of her head, pulling her hair, Helena touches his face and breaks the kiss.
They stay with their foreheads pressed against each other, Helena tries to move away but he doesn't let her.
Helena: You shouldn't have done that.
William: See, you don't like him.
Helena: I am your physiotherapist, William, don't say that again, and I can't do that with Mateo either.
William: Let him go, Helena.
Helena: Why? Why should I let him go? Why did you do this?
William: You didn't want to?
Helena: No.
William: Then why did you respond?
Helena: Because... because... because you pressured me and I wanted it to end, so I answered.
William: Wrong. You wanted it too. Helena, what are you doing to me? Who are you, Helena?
Helena: Why are you like this? Why are you doing this?
William: Since that day you fell into my lap, I wanted to do this. You don't give me an opening, but I feel that you feel the same way. We're adults and flesh, I know what this is, we're interested in each other.
Helena: No, I am your physiotherapist, and I have a boyfriend. We can't do this.
She gets up, and Helena goes to the window.
William: You don't want to admit that you want me because of how I am, right? A successful doctor wouldn't want a man in a wheelchair. I understand you. I think I made a mistake, Doctor. You're right, you're not interested in me.
Helena: It's not that, William, please try to understand.
William: I've understood, Doctor. Forget this because it was a mistake. I should have never done this, don't feel guilty about your boyfriend; it was me who kissed you, you had no intentions.
Good luck, I hope you two get married soon and be happy.
William leaves, Helena tries to explain, but he turns his back. She doesn't know what to do or say, this was all a bombshell to her, how is he interested in her? It's only been a month, they haven't had any closeness, this is crazy, but why did he say it was a mistake? Wow, how can he say it was a mistake?
Helena's mind is filled, many unanswered questions, especially for her, what do you want, Helena? What do you really want?
William goes to his room, he enters and breaks everything on a table. Anger grows in his chest, he has never felt so stupid before.
William: I'm an idiot, I know I'll never have someone again. I understand her reasoning, who would want someone useless? I could have died, I don't deserve anything, especially not her.
He continues breaking things, William crawls to the bed and manages to pass with a lot of effort, he lies down still filled with anger, and also a bit of disappointment.
