Jungkook hadn’t been back to the café for three days
Not because he didn’t want to.l
But because he was scared.
Scared of how his heart had jumped when Taehyung kissed him.
Scared of how he had wanted more.
And most of all—scared of what it meant
If he admitted he wanted Taehyung, it would mean opening himself up to pain
And Jungkook wasn’t sure he could survive that
Jungkook sat alone in his apartment, fingers resting on the piano keys, playing nothing
JUNGKOOK
(Slowly, he stood, his heart pounding as he reached the door)
Taehyung was standing there—and he didn’t look happy
TAEHYUNG
Are you avoiding me?
TAEHYUNG
Yes or no, Jungkook
JUNGKOOK
(Hands clenched at his sides) yes
TAEHYUNG
(Stepped inside, closing the door behind him)
TAEHYUNG
Tell me, Jungkook
JUNGKOOK
(Chest tightened) Because this is dangerous
TAEHYUNG
(Frowned) Dangerous?
JUNGKOOK
(Turned away) I don’t do relationships. I don’t know how
TAEHYUNG
(Quiet for a moment. Then, softly) You don’t have to know how
JUNGKOOK
(Breathing was uneven) What if I mess this up? What if I hurt you?
TAEHYUNG
(Stepped closer, until Jungkook could feel his warmth again) Then we figure it out together
JUNGKOOK
(Flinched) And what if you leave?
TAEHYUNG
(Voice was firm)I won’t
JUNGKOOK
(Throat tightened) You don’t know that
Not just a brush of fingers
TAEHYUNG
(Grounding hold—Taehyung’s hands on Jungkook’s face)
Jungkook didn’t know who moved first.
Maybe it was him. Maybe it was Taehyung.
TAEHYUNG
(Lips were on his)
JUNGKOOK
(Kissed back without hesitation)
It was messy. Desperate. Like they were both trying to hold onto something fragile.
TAEHYUNG
(Arms wrapped around him, pulling him closer)
JUNGKOOK
(Let himself fall)
Because maybe—just maybe—falling for Taehyung wasn’t a mistake
