I followed Selena into the school building, my brain still fried from what just happened.
She buttoned my blouse. She got that close. And worst of all... I couldn’t stop blushing like a damn fool.
Get it together, man!—wait, no. Get it together, Lilian!
Emily hummed happily beside me. “Aww, you two are so cute together! Selena, you really spoil Lilian, huh?”
Selena didn’t even glance at her. “She’s my girlfriend. Of course, I take care of her.”
I choked. SHE SAID THAT WITH A STRAIGHT FACE.
Emily giggled. “See, Lilian? Even if you don’t remember, you’re super lucky! All the girls in school wish they could be in your place.”
I forced a laugh. “Hahaha... yeah, lucky.”
LIES. THIS IS TERRIFYING.
Inside the Classroom
The moment I stepped inside, I felt everyone’s eyes on me.
Wait, why is everyone staring?!
“Lilian!” A random girl rushed up to me. “Is it true you lost your memories?!”
Another girl gasped. “OMG, are you okay?! How did it happen?”
Yet another whispered, “Do you think Selena will dump her now?”
DUMP?! WAIT, WHAT?!
Before I could even respond, a sharp voice cut through the noise.
“She’s fine.”
Selena had spoken.
Immediately, the room went silent.
“She’s still mine,” she added coldly. “Nothing has changed.”
GIRL, WHY ARE YOU SAYING THINGS LIKE THAT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE?!
The students started whispering again.
“Wow, Selena is so possessive!”
“She must really love Lilian...”
“So romantic!”
Meanwhile, I was standing there, having an existential crisis.
Emily elbowed me. “See? Selena is totally crazy about you!”
I AM IN DANGER.
Lunch Break
By the time lunch rolled around, I was exhausted. I just wanted to sit somewhere quiet, eat my food, and figure out my life.
Unfortunately, Selena had other plans.
As soon as I left the classroom, she grabbed my wrist. “We’re eating together.”
“H-Huh? We are?”
She didn’t answer. She just dragged me along.
A few minutes later, I found myself in the VIP section of the cafeteria.
Wait, we have a VIP section?!
Selena elegantly took a seat across from me. “Eat.”
I stared at my food. Then at her. Then back at my food.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
I gulped. “Uh... nothing! Just... this feels a little... um... intense?”
Selena tilted her head slightly. “We always eat together.”
Oh. Right. Because we’re ‘dating.’
I took a bite of my food, trying to act natural. But then—
Selena reached across the table and wiped the corner of my lips with her thumb.
I froze.
She examined her thumb and sighed. “You’re messy, as usual.”
I’M GOING TO DIE. RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW.
Selena smirked slightly. “What? Embarrassed?”
I slammed my hands on the table. “O-Of course not! I’m totally used to this! Pfft, whatever!”
She leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. “Oh? Then should I kiss you to prove it?”
ERROR. ERROR. SYSTEM FAILURE.
I grabbed my drink and chugged it like my life depended on it.
Selena just watched me, amused.
I AM SCREWED.
