Chapter 20: How to Survive the Mafia (Step 1: Don’t Die)
Morning in the Mafia Mansion
Lily was experiencing a crisis.
No, not the “oh no, I lost my wallet” kind of crisis.
The “I am accidentally becoming a feared mafia strategist” kind of crisis.
Big difference.
“Wake up, Princess.”
Lily grumbled as she buried herself deeper under the expensive silk sheets.
“No. Let me die in peace.”
Gabriel, ever the menace, yanked the blankets away. “Sorry, sweetheart. No dying allowed. You have a very busy day ahead.”
Lily blinked up at him.
Busy. Day.
That never meant anything good.
“…Gabriel, what are you making me do?”
Gabriel smiled way too sweetly. “You’ll see.”
Lily panicked.
---
Ten Minutes Later – Mafia Breakfast Chaos
Lily sat at the massive dining table, surrounded by murderers, criminals, and psychopaths.
Also known as…
Her new daily breakfast buddies.
Nathan, munching on a croissant, grinned at her. “So, are you ready for your first official mafia mission?”
Lily paused mid-bite. “Wait. What?”
Gabriel, sipping his coffee, looked far too pleased with himself. “Oh? Did we forget to tell you?”
Raphael, who had been quietly reading the newspaper, finally spoke. “You’re coming with us today.”
Lily’s brain short-circuited.
“Hold on, hold on. What kind of mission? Because if it involves guns, murder, or illegal deals, I respectfully decline.”
Nathan smirked. “You think you have a choice?”
Lily mentally screamed.
---
Mission: Lily’s Mafia Debut (AKA Ultimate Disaster)
Lily found herself in a fancy hotel lobby, sitting between two dangerously attractive mafia bosses while sipping an overpriced latte.
To an outsider, it looked like three rich, well-dressed VIPs having a casual coffee date.
In reality?
This was a high-stakes mafia negotiation.
With actual criminals.
Lily wanted to cry.
A group of men in sleek suits approached their table. The leader—a bald man with a jagged scar across his cheek—grinned.
“So, this is the famous ‘strategist’?” He eyed Lily with amusement. “She looks a little… delicate.”
Lily internally panicked.
Before she could respond, Raphael’s cold voice cut through the air.
“She’s more dangerous than she looks.”
Gabriel smirked. “And if you underestimate her… well, that’s your mistake.”
Lily internally screamed again.
She had done absolutely nothing to earn this reputation.
Yet here she was.
Being feared by actual criminals.
What had her life become?
---
The Deal That Almost Killed Her
The meeting started smoothly enough. Raphael and Gabriel handled most of the negotiations while Lily… tried not to pass out from stress.
Then came the complication.
“Your terms are acceptable,” the bald man said. “But I have one final condition.”
Gabriel leaned back lazily. “Oh?”
The man grinned. “Let the girl play a game.”
Lily’s entire body froze.
“I—I’m sorry, what?”
Baldy smirked. “One simple round of poker. If she wins, the deal stands. If she loses…” He eyed her with amusement. “You work for us instead.”
Lily panicked.
Nathan, watching from the side, whispered, “Oooh, this is getting spicy.”
Lily sent him a mental death threat.
Gabriel’s expression darkened. “She’s not playing.”
Baldy chuckled. “Are you scared she’ll lose?”
Lily could feel the temperature in the room drop.
Raphael’s voice was dangerously low. “No. I’m scared of what happens if she wins.”
The man frowned. “What do you—”
Lily, tired of the nonsense, suddenly smiled.
“Alright, I’ll play.”
Gabriel and Raphael both turned to her, their expressions unreadable.
Nathan whistled. “Ooooh, bold move.”
Lily had no idea what she was doing.
But at this point?
She was in too deep.

Lily vs. Mafia Poker – The Game That Changed Everything
The table was set. Cards were dealt.
Lily had exactly zero knowledge of poker.
Her strategy?
Pure bluffing.
The game began. Lily stared at her cards.
A two of hearts and a seven of clubs.
…She had no idea if that was good or bad.
She glanced at Baldy. He smirked, looking confident.
Perfect.
Lily suddenly gasped dramatically. “Oh no.”
Baldy’s smirk widened. “Bad hand?”
Lily pretended to panic. “Uh. Y-yeah. Totally.”
Nathan, watching from the side, nearly choked on his drink.
Gabriel and Raphael, having known her long enough, immediately realized what she was doing.
Gabriel grinned.
Raphael sighed.
The game continued.
Each round, Lily acted like she was struggling.
She faked nervous twitches.
She made exaggerated sighs.
She bit her lip like a panicked amateur.
Baldy, completely fooled, went all in.
Lily?
She calmly laid down her cards.
“Oops,” she said. “Did I win?”
Royal Flush.
Nathan burst out laughing.
Gabriel whistled.
Raphael sipped his drink, completely unsurprised.
Baldy?
He looked like he wanted to cry.
Lily smiled sweetly. “So, the deal stands, right?”
Baldy gritted his teeth. “...Yes.”
Lily tried not to scream in victory.
She had no idea how she pulled that off.
But one thing was clear—
She was now officially the most dangerous ‘strategist’ in the mafia.
And she had no idea how to stop this trainwreck.

Aftermath: The Mafia Princess Rises
Back at the mansion, Lily collapsed onto the couch.
“I can’t believe that worked.”
Nathan flopped next to her. “That was hilarious.”
Gabriel grinned. “You’re a natural, princess.”
Raphael leaned against the wall. “You just became even more infamous.”
Lily sat up. “Wait. What?”
Nathan smirked and handed her his phone.
She read the headlines.
“Mysterious Mafia Strategist Outsmarts Crime Lord in a Single Game”
“Blackfang’s Deadly Advisor – Who is She?”
“Rumors Say She’s Already Running the Mafia”
Lily screamed.
“WHY ARE THEY CALLING ME A CRIME LORD?!”
Nathan patted her shoulder. “Congrats, boss.”
Lily grabbed a pillow and screamed into it.
This was not what she signed up for.
Gabriel and Raphael, watching her suffer, simply smiled.
And so…
The legend of Lily, the accidental mafia queen, continued.
