"You're a disappointment, Rui," his mother's voice echoed in his mind. "You're not the son we wanted."
"You're not normal, Rui," his father's words cut deep.
"You're a freak, Rui," his stepbrother's voice sneered. "No one wants you around."
"Get out of our house ", "You don't belong here."
"Come on, Rui, don't be a tease," one of his friends sneered, their voices low and menacing.
"We just want to have a little fun," another friend chimed in, their words dripping with malice.
"You're mine, Rui," his ex-boyfriend's voice growled, low and menacing. "You'll never leave me."
"You'll never be free from me."
Rui woke up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat and breathing heavily.
Ming, still awake and preoccupied with Kai's unhappy departure, noticed Rui's distress.
Ming
"Hey Rui, you okay?" Ming handed Rui a glass of water. "Here, drink this. It'll calm you down."
Ming
"Was it the same nightmare again? You've been haunted by it for so long, but you never want to talk about it. I don't know how to help."
