Snowflakes and Pouts! (Fluffy Taekook)
Episode 15
The wind howled outside the cozy wooden cabin nestled deep in the snowy woods, its rustic charm heightened by the soft glow of fairy lights strung around the porch. Inside, the atmosphere was much warmer although not in the way Jungkook and Taehyung might have hoped.
Jungkook sat on the couch, pouting slightly as he hugged a throw pillow. Taehyung lounged on a nearby armchair, trying to appear nonchalant as he fiddled with his phone. The silence between them was almost deafening.
Jeon Jungkook
Where are they?
Jungkook mumbled, glancing toward the door.
“They” were their mischievous friends: Jimin, Yoongi, Jin, Namjoon and Hoseok who had convinced both Taehyung and Jungkook to join them for a fun getaway in a “perfectly safe, well-equipped cabin for group bonding.”
Hours earlier, the group had “left” to supposedly fetch firewood and hot cocoa supplies. Now, two hours later, neither they nor the firewood had returned.
Jungkook said, his brows furrowed.
Jeon Jungkook
Jimin said the store wasn’t far. How could they take this long?
Taehyung smirked, leaning back lazily.
Kim Taehyung
Maybe they’re off having fun without us.
Jungkook’s pout deepened, and he flopped back against the couch dramatically.
Jeon Jungkook
Why would they do that? It’s so cold here! I swear, if they don’t come back soon—
Suddenly, Taehyung’s phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen and fought back a laugh. It was a text from Jimin:
Park Jimin
Don’t kill each other! Or, better yet, kill the awkwardness and kiss already.
Taehyung chuckled under his breath and slipped the phone back into his pocket. He knew exactly what their friends were up to now.
Meanwhile, outside the cabin, Jimin, Yoongi, Jin, Namjoon and Hoseok huddled in their parked car, stifling laughter.
Park Jimin
Do you think it’s working?
Jimin asked, pressing his nose against the frosted window for a better view.
Min Yoongi
It’s Taehyung and Jungkook. Give them some time. They’re both clueless.
Jung Hoseok
I guess, your friend Kookie is clueless in this matter. My buddy is aware of that love fact.
Said proudly as he stated, the thing is these friends trying to be the matchmakers of our Taekook.
Jin, munching on a bag of chips, chimed in.
Kim Seokjin
I still think we should’ve left them with something more romantic. Maybe candles or—
Kim Namjoon
Or what? A violinist?
Namjoon interjected with a laugh.
Kim Namjoon
They don’t need props. They just need to be alone.
Park Jimin
Alone and snowed in.
Jimin added, grinning wickedly.
Inside the cabin, Jungkook finally stood up, pacing back and forth.
Jeon Jungkook
I can’t believe them. Who takes this long to get hot cocoa?
Kim Taehyung
Maybe they got lost!
Jeon Jungkook
In a straight path to the nearest town? Yeah, right.
Jungkook narrowed his eyes, clearly suspicious.
Jeon Jungkook
You don’t think they—
Kim Taehyung
They totally left us here on purpose.
Taehyung smirked, leaning forward.
Jungkook spun to face him, his eyes wide.
Kim Taehyung
Come on, Jungkook. Think about it. The conveniently cozy cabin, the ‘urgent’ supply run, the fact that they haven’t called? Classic setup.
Jeon Jungkook
They’re trying to matchmake us? 😱
Taehyung shrugged, his smirk growing.
Kim Taehyung
Looks like it.
Jungkook groaned, sinking back onto the couch.
Jeon Jungkook
This is so embarrassing.
Taehyung chuckled, standing up to stretch.
Kim Taehyung
Embarrassing for who? Them for being obvious, or you for being so adorably clueless?
Jeon Jungkook
Yah, Kim Taehyung. Don’t start.
Taehyung raised his hands in mock surrender, though his playful grin didn’t fade.
Kim Taehyung
Relax, bunny. It’s not the worst thing in the world.
Kim Taehyung
I mean, we’re warm, we’ve got food, and the view’s nice.
Taehyung pointed toward the window, but his eyes were on Jungkook.
Jungkook’s cheeks turned pink, and he quickly looked away, muttering.
Outside, the group burst into silent laughter as they watched the interaction unfold through binoculars.
Park Jimin
I told you they’d be cute! 😆
Jimin whispered, nudging Yoongi.
Min Yoongi
It’s a miracle Taehyung hasn’t scared him off with his terrible flirting.
Jung Hoseok
Yah, my buddy is cool you know.
Kim Seokjin
Give it time. They’re warming up to each other.
Namjoon added, gesturing toward the growing fire inside the cabin.
Back inside, Jungkook pulled a blanket over himself and pretended to focus on the crackling fire.
Taehyung sat beside him, their shoulders brushing.
Kim Taehyung
So, Jungkook, what do you think their next move is?
Jungkook blinked, turning to him.
Jeon Jungkook
What do you mean?
Taehyung leaned in slightly, his voice low.
Kim Taehyung
Do you think they’re coming back tonight?
Kim Taehyung
Or are we ‘snowed in’ until we… what did Jimin call it? ‘Kill the awkwardness and kiss’?
Jungkook’s face turned red, and he smacked Taehyung’s arm lightly.
Jeon Jungkook
Don’t say stuff like that!
Taehyung laughed, his deep voice echoing warmly in the cabin.
Kim Taehyung
Okay, okay. But admit it, Jungkook. This is kind of funny.
Jungkook sighed, a reluctant smile tugging at his lips.
Jeon Jungkook
Maybe a little.
As the fire crackled and the snow continued to fall outside, the awkward tension between them began to melt away. Their friends’ plan, though a bit ridiculous, might have just worked.
