The air was crisp and filled with the scent of roasted chestnuts and peppermint as the town’s Christmas lights festival came alive. Twinkling lights covered every tree, storefront, and lamppost, casting a magical glow across the bustling streets. Jungkook clutched his scarf tighter around his neck, his cheeks pink from the cold as he walked alongside Taehyung.

This is my favorite event of the year.
Jungkook admitted, his voice soft but laced with excitement.
Taehyung glanced at him, his heart warming at the way Jungkook’s eyes sparkled under the festive lights.
Kim Taehyung
I can see why. It’s beautiful!
he replied, though his gaze lingered on Jungkook rather than the decorations.
Jeon Jungkook
Have you been to something like this before?
Jungkook asked, tilting his head to look up at Taehyung.
Kim Taehyung
Not quite like this.
Taehyung said with a smile.

But I think I’m already loving it.
The festival was alive with activity: vendors selling hot cocoa, children running around with candy canes, and couples strolling hand in hand. Taehyung and Jungkook found themselves in front of a row of carnival games.

Taehyung smirked, already stepping up to a booth where stuffed animals of all sizes were displayed.
The game involved knocking down a stack of bottles with a single throw. Taehyung paid the vendor, picked up a ball, and gave Jungkook a confident wink.

Watch and learn, bunny!
he said, aiming carefully.
Taehyung’s first throw missed entirely, bouncing off the edge of the bottles.
Jungkook burst into laughter, covering his mouth with his hand.

So much for confidence!
Taehyung turned to him, feigning offense.
Kim Taehyung
That was just a warm-up.
His second throw was closer but still didn’t knock over all the bottles. Jungkook giggled again, his nose scrunching adorably.

Should I give it a try?
Taehyung handed him the ball with a grin.
Kim Taehyung
Go ahead. Show me how it’s done.
Jungkook stepped up, his tongue peeking out in concentration as he threw the ball. It hit the stack dead center but didn’t knock them all down.

I told you I’m not good at this!
Jungkook pouted, crossing his arms.
Taehyung chuckled, his eyes softening.
Kim Taehyung
You did great. But let me handle this.
Taehyung tried again, this time throwing with all his strength. The bottles tumbled to the ground, and the vendor clapped.
the vendor announced, gesturing to the array of prizes.
Taehyung turned to Jungkook, his grin wide.
Jungkook’s eyes darted to a fluffy stuffed bear with a red bow around its neck.
The vendor handed the bear to Taehyung, who presented it to Jungkook with a dramatic bow.

Jungkook took the bear, his cheeks flushing.

Thanks, Taehyung! 💓
he said softly, hugging the plushie close.
As they continued walking through the festival, Taehyung couldn’t stop glancing at Jungkook, who seemed genuinely happy.

You really like that bear, huh?
Jungkook nodded, his smile bright.
Jeon Jungkook
It’s cute. And… it’s nice that you won it for me.
Taehyung’s chest swelled with pride at the small admission.

Jungkook looked up at him, his eyes shining under the lights.

You’re not as bad as I thought you were, Taehyung.
Taehyung laughed, throwing an arm around Jungkook’s shoulders.

And guess what? Jk’s heart is running at a train speed.
