Snowflakes and Pouts! (Fluffy Taekook)
Episode 07
The evening was crisp, the scent of fresh snow lingering in the air. Jungkook stood on a small stool, balancing precariously as he tried to string twinkling Christmas lights along the front of his porch.
His lips were pursed in determination, his gloved fingers fumbling with the tangled mess of wires.
Jeon Jungkook
Why is this so hard?
Jungkook muttered, puffing out his cheeks as he tried to unravel yet another knot. The lights dangled awkwardly, swaying slightly in the chilly breeze.
He huffed, stepping back to examine his progress—or lack thereof.
Jeon Jungkook
Great, now it looks like a squirrel did this.
he grumbled, his pout deepening.
From the corner of the street, Taehyung appeared, his long coat billowing around him as he strolled toward Jungkook’s house.
His sharp eyes softened when they landed on the struggling omega, who was now precariously tiptoeing on the stool, trying to hook the lights onto a nail.
Kim Taehyung
Need some help there, bunny?
Taehyung called out, his deep voice carrying easily over the quiet street.
Jungkook startled, wobbling slightly before steadying himself.
Jeon Jungkook
No, I’m fine!
he insisted, his cheeks already pink—whether from the cold or Taehyung’s sudden presence, he wasn’t sure.
Taehyung smirked, folding his arms as he stopped at the base of the porch.
Kim Taehyung
Uh-huh. Because it looks like you’re about to have a very dramatic fall.
And then it happened. Jungkook’s foot slipped, the stool tipping to the side. He let out a startled yelp, the lights tangling around him as gravity pulled him down.
But before he could hit the ground, strong arms caught him. Jungkook blinked in surprise, finding himself cradled against Taehyung’s chest.
Taehyung asked softly, his tone uncharacteristically gentle.
Jungkook nodded slowly, his wide eyes meeting Taehyung’s. For a moment, the world seemed to pause. The faint hum of holiday music from a distant radio, the flicker of streetlights, and even the chill in the air—all of it faded as they stared at each other.
Taehyung’s warm brown eyes held a sincerity that made Jungkook’s breath hitch. His hands were steady, holding Jungkook as if he were the most precious thing in the world.
Jungkook murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
Taehyung’s lips curled into the faintest of smiles, but his gaze never wavered from Jungkook’s face.
Jungkook opened his mouth to speak, but the words wouldn’t come. His heart was pounding so loudly he was sure Taehyung could hear it.
Kim Taehyung
Careful there, bunny.
Taehyung teased, though his tone was soft.
Kim Taehyung
You’re going to give me a heart attack with all this clumsiness.
Jungkook’s cheeks turned an even brighter shade of pink.
Jeon Jungkook
I-I was fine on my own…
he mumbled, though his voice lacked conviction.
Kim Taehyung
Sure you were.
Taehyung chuckled, gently setting Jungkook back on his feet. His hands lingered on Jungkook’s shoulders for a moment longer than necessary, as if reluctant to let go.
Jungkook looked away, fiddling with the edge of his scarf.
Jeon Jungkook
Thanks… for catching me.
Taehyung replied smoothly, stepping back but keeping his eyes on Jungkook.
Kim Taehyung
Now, let me help before you end up breaking your neck.
Taehyung took charge, effortlessly untangling the lights and climbing onto the stool with ease. Jungkook stood nearby, holding the end of the string and watching as Taehyung worked.
Jeon Jungkook
You’re pretty good at this.
Jungkook admitted reluctantly.
Taehyung glanced down, his smirk returning.
Kim Taehyung
I have many talents, bunny. You just haven’t seen them all yet.
Jungkook rolled his eyes, though the corners of his lips twitched upward.
Jeon Jungkook
Do you always have to be so smug?
Kim Taehyung
It’s part of my charm.
Taehyung quipped, his voice tinged with amusement.
His initial annoyance, Jungkook couldn’t help but smile. As Taehyung finished stringing the lights and climbed down, he turned to Jungkook with a triumphant grin.
Kim Taehyung
See? Perfect!
Taehyung said, gesturing toward the neatly hung lights.
Jungkook tilted his head, his eyes sparkling as he admired the glowing display.
Jeon Jungkook
It does look… really nice. Thanks, hyung.
Taehyung leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to a teasing whisper.
Kim Taehyung
Anything for you, bunny.
Jungkook’s pout returned, though it was softer this time, tinged with a hint of fondness.
Jeon Jungkook
Stop calling me that.
Taehyung grinned, reaching out to flick Jungkook’s nose lightly.
As the lights twinkled behind them, the two stood together on the porch, their playful banter filling the chilly night with warmth.
For the first time, Jungkook felt a flicker of something more than annoyance toward the charming alpha—and Taehyung, for all his teasing, found himself wanting to stay in Jungkook’s orbit just a little longer.
