As the silence between them grew thicker, Tripti felt a lump form in her throat. She tried to speak, but her voice caught in her throat.
Reyansh, sensing her distress, turned around to face her. For a moment, their eyes locked, and Tripti saw a flicker of emotion in his eyes.
But it was quickly replaced by his usual mask of indifference. "What do you want, Tripti?" he asked, his voice cold.
Tripti took a deep breath and tried to compose herself. "I want to talk about us," she said, her voice shaking. "I want to know what's going on between us. Why are you so distant? Why do you always seem so angry with me?"
Reyansh raised an eyebrow, a mocking glint in his eye. "You really don't know, do you?" he asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Tripti shook her head, feeling a sense of frustration. "No, I don't know," she said. "That's why I'm asking you. Please, Reyansh, just talk to me. Tell me what's going on."
Reyansh sighed, running a hand through his hair. For a moment, Tripti thought she saw a glimmer of vulnerability in his eyes.
But it was quickly replaced by his usual mask of indifference. "Fine," he said. "I'll tell you what's going on. But you're not going to like it."
Tripti's heart sank, but she steeled herself for what was to come. "I'm listening," she said, her voice firm.
Reyansh took a deep breath, his eyes locked on hers. "I'm tired of this marriage," he said, his voice cold. "I'm tired of the fights and the arguments. I'm tired of feeling like I'm stuck in a loveless marriage."
Tripti felt like she had been punched in the gut. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "You're tired of me?" she asked, her voice shaking.
Reyansh nodded, his eyes locked on hers. "Yes, Tripti. I'm tired of you. I'm tired of us."
Tripti felt like she had been slapped in the face. She couldn't believe what Reyansh was saying. "You're tired of me?" she repeated, her voice shaking with anger and hurt.
Reyansh nodded, his eyes still locked on hers. "Yes, Tripti. I'm tired of the way you always question me, tired of the way you always doubt me. I'm tired of the way you make me feel like I'm not good enough for you."
Tripti felt a surge of anger at Reyansh's words. How could he say such things to her?
But as she looked into his eyes, she saw something there that made her heart skip a beat. She saw a deep sadness, a deep hurt. And suddenly, she realized that Reyansh wasn't just tired of her, he was tired of the way things were between them.
"Reyansh," she said, her voice softening. "I had no idea you felt this way. Why didn't you tell me?"
Reyansh shrugged, his eyes dropping to the floor. "I don't know," he said. "I guess I just didn't know how to say it. I didn't know how to tell you that I'm not happy in our marriage. I don't wanted to marry! "
Tripti felt a pang of sadness at Reyansh's words. She had no idea that he was so unhappy. "Reyansh," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "I had no idea. I thought everything was fine between us."
Reyansh looked up at her, his eyes filled with a deep sadness. "I'm sorry, Tripti," he said. "I'm sorry that I didn't tell you sooner. I'm sorry that I hurt you."
Tripti felt a lump form in her throat as she looked at Reyansh. She saw the sadness in his eyes, and she knew that she had to do something to make things right between them.
"Reyansh," she said, her voice soft. "I want to make things right between us. I want to work on our marriage and make it stronger. But I need you to meet me halfway. I need you to talk to me, to tell me what's going on. I need you to be honest with me."
Reyansh looked at her, his eyes searching. And for a moment, Tripti thought she saw a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they could work through their problems and come out stronger on the other side
As Tripti finished speaking, Reyansh looked away, his eyes fixed on some point on the wall. Tripti's heart sank, thinking that she had lost him, that he was still not willing to work on their marriage.
But then, to her surprise, Reyansh spoke up. "I'll try, Tripti," he said, his voice low and rough. "I'll try to be more open with you, to talk to you more about what's going on. But you have to promise me one thing."
"What's that?" Tripti asked, her heart racing with hope.
Reyansh turned to face her, his eyes burning with intensity. "You have to promise me that you'll listen," he said. "Really listen. Don't just hear what you want to hear, but actually listen to what I'm saying."
Tripti nodded eagerly, her heart filled with a newfound sense of hope. "I promise, Reyansh," she said. "I'll listen. I'll really listen."
Reyansh's face softened slightly, and he nodded. "Good," he said. "I'll try to do the same."
As they stood there, looking at each other, Tripti felt a sense of possibility that she hadn't felt in a long time. Maybe, just maybe, they could work through their problems and come out stronger on the other side.
But as they stood there, frozen in a moment of tentative hope, Tripti couldn't shake the feeling that there was still something between them, something that threatened to tear them apart.
As the tension between them began to dissipate, Tripti felt a sense of relief wash over her. Maybe, just maybe, they could start to work through their problems and rebuild their relationship.
But just as she was starting to feel hopeful, Reyansh's phone rang, shrill and insistent. He hesitated for a moment, then answered it.
"Hello?" he said, his voice curt.
Tripti watched as his expression changed, his eyes narrowing and his jaw clenched. "What do you want?" he growled.
Tripti's heart sank as she realized who must be on the other end of the line. It was the same woman who had been calling him for weeks, the same woman who had been causing tension in their relationship.
Reyansh's eyes flicked to Tripti, and for a moment, they locked gazes. Tripti felt a surge of anger and hurt, but she didn't say anything. She just stood there, frozen in a mixture of emotions.
Finally, Reyansh ended the call and turned to Tripti. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice low and rough. "I know that was awkward."
Tripti shook her head, feeling a sense of resignation wash over her. "It's not just awkward, Reyansh," she said. "It's painful. It's a reminder that there's someone else in your life, someone who is clearly very important to you."
Reyansh took a step forward, his eyes pleading. "Tripti, please understand," he said. "That woman, she's just a friend. She's not important to me, not like you are."
Tripti raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "Really?" she said. "Then why do you always take her calls? Why do you always seem so eager to talk to her?"
Reyansh sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I don't know, Tripti," he said. "I guess I just feel guilty for the way things ended between us. I feel like I owe her something."
Tripti felt a surge of anger at Reyansh's words. How could he feel guilty for the way things ended between him and his ex? Didn't he realize that he was hurting her, that he was making her feel like she wasn't important to him?
But as she looked into his eyes, she saw something there that gave her pause. She saw a deep sadness, a deep regret. And she realized that Reyansh was telling the truth, that he did feel guilty for the way things ended between him and his ex.
"Reyansh," she said, her voice softening. "I want to understand. I want to know what's going on. But you have to be honest with me. You have to tell me the truth."
Reyansh nodded, his eyes locked on hers. "I'll tell you the truth, Tripti," he said. "I'll tell you everything."
