“A tiny meal like that for almost a million?! Girl, if I were you, I’d rather eat at a warteg. Delicious, plenty, and cheap! What’s more, just now, what was it called... coconut green ball, that’s klepon! It’s just a different name, but they sell it for twenty times the price. And you only get three pieces, oh my God… Girl…”
“Can you stop calling me Girl?” Shea hissed in annoyance.
Zayn pursed his lips and focused his gaze back on the road ahead. Meanwhile, Shea returned her focus to driving. It was really strange, wasn’t it? The man sat calmly in the passenger seat while the woman was driving. Zayn didn’t offer to drive because he didn’t know how. It’s not that he couldn’t, he just hadn’t learned how to drive yet.
“When are you ready to move into my house?” Shea asked without looking at Zayn.
“I don’t know ye–... what should I call you?” Zayn was confused about how to address Shea.
“Shea, you can call me Shea. Even though I’m older than you, you are still my husband. But don’t expect me to call you by any special name,” Shea said, glancing at Zayn briefly.
The man nodded in understanding, turning to the back seat to check on Kai. It turned out that the child had fallen asleep soundly in his seat. After the crying drama earlier, the child finally gave in after Zayn persuaded him. Even Shea, as his biological mother, found it difficult to persuade her son when he was crying.
“Pack your things. Tomorrow I will pick you up to stay at my house,” Shea instructed after stopping the car.
“Alright, I’ll pack my things,” Zayn replied.
“We’re here, get out,” Shea ordered without looking at the man next to her. Zayn sighed softly and got out of Shea’s car. After Zayn got out, Shea immediately drove off.
“What is Shea’s true nature? Her attitude changes so easily, I’m confused,” Zayn muttered to himself.

That evening, Daisy went to her daughter’s study. She clicked her tongue in annoyance, seeing Shea working continuously from morning till night. Her daughter’s workaholic nature was inherited from her husband. Daisy wasn’t surprised anymore, but she was still annoyed to see it. The middle-aged woman walked quickly towards her daughter, who hadn’t taken her eyes off her laptop.
“Shea, when will you stop working?! Morning, noon, and night, always working. Aren’t you bored? Want to be an independent woman, huh? If there’s someone to take care of things, you should let them. Oh my God, this child, even though she’s a woman,” Daisy grumbled, hands on her hips.
“Come on, Mom, Shea has a lot of work,” Shea retorted, equally annoyed.
“Oh my God, this child. I’m telling you. Yesterday, Mom met Aunt Leni’s child, you know what? Her child is already married again, when will you? Richard keeps asking. Tomorrow, Mom will send him here to propose to you,” Daisy said, causing Shea to stop what she was doing.
Richard, the man Daisy had set Shea up with. However, her daughter didn’t want to. Daisy was tired of asking her daughter to meet Richard and her constant rejections with various excuses, be it work or her two children.
“Mom knows herself that Kai doesn’t like Richard, how can I accept this arranged marriage if Kai doesn’t like him? I’m remarrying for the sake of my children, not for love. Rather than getting hurt by love, I’d rather focus on the happiness of my two sons,” Shea explained.
Daisy sighed heavily. “No, you have to meet Richard tomorrow. You two are perfect for each other! Richard is the sole heir, and so are you. Both of you have lost your spouses, so what’s the problem? Just get married with hi–...”
“MOMMY, BALU ALREADY HAS A HUSBAND, GRANDMAAA!! KAI MET DADDY BALU JUST NOW!” Shouted an adorable little figure standing at the doorway, hugging his bag of chips.
Daisy’s gaze shifted towards Shea, questioning her about what her grandchild had just said. This was because Kai always spoke the truth. The child almost never made things up, so Daisy immediately believed the little one’s words. “Explain yourself, Shea. What did Kai mean? Which new Daddy?”
Shea massaged her temples; her head suddenly felt heavy. Her son was too honest; she hadn’t even found the right words to explain to her mother that she had married Zayn. She had a lot of work, and now she had to figure out how to explain her marriage.
“Yes, I’m married.”
“WHAT?!” Daisy shrieked, her face etched with shock.
Daisy clutched her chest, prompting Shea to quickly support her mother. She immediately helped the middle-aged woman to sit on the sofa, then grabbed a glass of water from the table and handed it to her. Daisy only took a small sip, trying to process what was happening.
“This isn’t April Fools’, is it?” Daisy asked, staring intently at her daughter.
Shea shook her head. “Mom knows I don’t like to joke,” she explained.
Daisy went limp, leaning back against the sofa. Her eyes looked weakly at her grandson, who was casually watching them while munching on his chips. The child didn’t seem to feel the slightest bit guilty about shocking his grandmother.
“Mom, let me explain first,” Shea pleaded, rubbing the middle-aged woman’s arm.
“Explain, explain then,” Daisy replied weakly, looking at her daughter sitting beside her.
“I married a man named Zayn Albert. Kai likes him and asked me to make him his daddy. I’m tired of Mom and Kai’s insistence on finding a new son-in-law and daddy for you two. So, I just randomly married him,” Shea explained, causing Daisy to become even more shocked.
“So… you married on a whim?! Just like that?! Shea, oh my God, this child. Shea, listen to Mom. What if you make another mistake? Mom chose someone good, and you just went and…!” Daisy exclaimed.
“Mom…”
“Oh God! Honey, you’re watching your daughter from above, right? See? Hit her head so she’ll come to her senses about this craziness!” The middle-aged woman exclaimed, looking up at the ceiling.
“Mom, he’s a good man. You’ll like him; I can see that he’s a sincere man. Although he’s not rich, but…” Hearing that, Daisy covered her face. She was crying, which of course made Shea panic.
“What did you see in him, Shea? Good? You haven’t even seen his true colors. How can you tell he’s good after such a short time?” Daisy sobbed.
“But Mommy, it’s true. Daddy is good,” Kai chimed in.
Daisy stopped crying and took her daughter’s hand, gazing at her intently. “Tomorrow, bring him here! Mom wants to meet him!”
