Zayn was busy tidying up his late grandmother's room, organizing the closet and the clothes of his beloved grandmother. While he was engrossed in cleaning, Zayn accidentally stumbled upon a small suitcase hidden in the wardrobe. Curious, he picked it up and placed it on the floor. The young man stared intently at the suitcase before him.
"I've never seen this suitcase before; when did Grandma get it?" Zayn murmured.
The handsome man decided to open it. Inside, he found only old belongings of his grandmother. There were photo frames from her youth and important letters regarding her personal information. Zayn picked up one of the photos of his late grandmother and gazed at it with teary eyes. In her youth, she looked incredibly beautiful.
"Grandma, I miss you," Zayn said softly, his voice trembling.
"Just last week we were still chatting, you were still stroking my head. Now, I can only look at you through this photo, sobs..." Tears streamed down Zayn's face, and his chest felt heavy. The only family he had was gone, leaving him forever. Zayn felt he could no longer continue living without his grandmother.
"I want to follow you, Grandma. I don’t want to be alone, sobs... you're the only one I have, sobs... I work, I stay motivated because of you. Now, my life feels so bland. It feels like I have no purpose anymore, sobs..." he cried pitifully.
Knock!
Knock!
Knock!
Zayn stopped crying and wiped his tear-streaked face. He wondered in his heart who was visiting his house. Out of curiosity, he quickly stood up and opened the door to see who had come.

"Boss?!" Zayn exclaimed in surprise when he saw Shea at his doorstep. He looked panicked, glancing around as if worried someone was watching them.
"Wow! Benel has indeed become a widowed daddy now."
"Huh?!" Zayn lowered his head, just now realizing the presence of an adorable child being held by Shea. The child was offering him to refer to her as 'mommy.'
"I brought my son so there won’t be any gossip," Shea explained.
Zayn nodded and invited both of them inside, quickly closing the door behind them. Kai was still staring at Zayn with sparkling eyes. The little boy felt overjoyed when his mommy told him that Zayn had become his daddy.
"Sit down; I’ll get you something to drink," Zayn instructed before heading to the kitchen.
Once Zayn left, Kai eagerly turned to his mommy. "So, Kai can call Daddy, right Mommy?!" he exclaimed excitedly.
"Later, ask Uncle if it’s okay for you to call him daddy," Shea replied gently while caressing her son's head.
Before long, Zayn returned with two glasses of water in his hands. He placed them on the table right in front of Shea and Kai. "Please drink; I’m sorry, there’s only plain water," Zayn said.
"That's okay! Oh, by the way… how are you doing? Are you feeling better?" Shea asked with a worried look.
Zayn smiled faintly, sitting down across from Shea while looking at Kai, still gazing at him. "If I’m better, then certainly no. How can I be okay after losing the only person who meant everything to me? The only family I had left. It feels like my life is so bland now," he whispered, lowering his head.
Shea understood Zayn's feelings; she had felt the same after her father's passing. Her world seemed shattered, but she still had her mother and two sons. Unlike Zayn, who had only Grandma Dian as his only family, now gone and leaving him to fend for himself.
"Uncle, can I call you daddy? Mommy said Uncle is Kai's daddy," the adorable boy asked.
Seeing Kai's cuteness, Zayn was undoubtedly melted. The corners of his lips lifted, forming his handsome smile. "Of course, Kai can call me daddy," he replied.
"Daddy!" Kai exclaimed cheerfully.
Shea smiled softly as she gently stroked her son’s head. Zayn noticed Shea’s expression. In his opinion, she rarely smiled—especially not for him. But for her son... Shea always showed her brightest smile and her gentlest demeanor.
"Why do you smile so rarely? Your smile is really beautiful," Zayn complimented, causing Shea's smile to fade.
"Well, it seems like you're the type of woman who doesn’t enjoy being praised," Zayn said with a hint of teasing in his tone.
Shea didn’t respond; instead, she pretended to look at her phone, but her cheeks flushed. Zayn noticed and couldn’t help but smile at Shea’s bashful demeanor as she tried to act nonchalant. Neither of them noticed that Kai had reached for the glass of water. Feeling thirsty, the adorable little boy decided to take a sip.
"Yuck…" Kai stuck out his tongue; after just one gulp, he found the water strange. To reassure himself, he took another swig.
"Daddy, what is this water?" Kai asked, prompting both adults to turn their heads.
"That's just plain water. Why? Do you want a different drink? Tea, perhaps?" Zayn replied, returning the question.
Kai shook his head and took another sip. Then he placed the glass back on the table and wiped his lips. "This water is nice, it tastes different," he said innocently.
Hearing this, Zayn wasn’t offended; he chuckled softly. "Sorry, that’s boiled water, not the bottled kind like at your house, hm..." he explained.
Kai puckered his lips, although he didn’t quite understand the difference. He continued to engage Zayn in conversation, eager to chat with his father. Shea watched their closeness and smiled softly. Even now, Kai was sitting on Zayn’s lap, gazing at the cartoon playing on the man’s phone.

"Who is it?" Shea asked Zayn.
"It might be Lita; she usually comes by in the afternoon," Zayn replied, unconsciously causing Shea’s expression to change.
"Just a moment," Zayn said, shifting Kai off his lap and standing up to open the door.

"Hey, I brought…" Lita’s words trailed off as she noticed Shea’s presence. Naturally, when Zayn opened the door, Shea was immediately visible since she was in the living room directly facing the door.
Shea and Lita locked eyes, both women seemingly questioning each other about their unexpected presence. Shea certainly recognized the girl; she had seen her on the day of the late Grandma Dian's funeral. Meanwhile, Kai regarded Lita with a curious gaze.
"Sorry Lita, they are my guests," Zayn clarified.
"Oh, I see. Here, I brought lunch for you, Abang," Lita said as she handed over the plate she was carrying.
"Thank you. Lita, I’m sorry... maybe next time you don’t need to. I don’t want to trouble you and your mother too much," Zayn asked while accepting the plate from Lita. He couldn’t refuse, as it would surely hurt her feelings.
"We don’t feel troubled, Bang. My mother already considers you like her own son, so we don’t feel like a bother," Lita insisted.
"If that's the case, I’ll say goodbye then, Bang."
Zayn couldn’t think of anything else to say, allowing Lita to leave his house. Afterward, he closed the door and set the plate on the table. Noticing the food, Kai stared at it with shining eyes. Not only did he enjoy his new daddy, but Kai also loved to eat.
"That girl seems to like you," Shea remarked with a flat expression.
"Of course not, she and I have known each other since we were kids," Zayn countered.
Shea looked at Zayn with a scrutinizing gaze. "If you’ve known each other since childhood, there’s a good chance for love to blossom. Aren’t you interested in her?" she asked, prompting Zayn to let out a soft sigh.
"Well, she…"
"WHAT? YOU JUST CALL ME ‘MBA?’!" Shea exclaimed loudly. Naturally, Zayn was startled by her abrupt outburst.
"You…"
"Do we really have to bicker first, Mommy! Kai wants to eat! Can Kai eat, please?" Kai interjected as the two adults continued their debate.
"Uh…
“No! Don’t! Save that food; we’re having lunch out. Zayn, you have to come! I don’t want my husband eating another woman’s cooking.” Shea hissed, making Zayn gulp down his saliva harshly. Shea’s sharp gaze made him feel uneasy.
“Eating out means another woman cooks there too,” Zayn thought, grimacing inwardly.
Sorry for the delay, friends! 🥶
