Chapter 13

...•~•...

Not only does Vincent walked on them so closed with eachother but Liam also wanting Jamie to have a movie night at his place over a fastfood meal.

The pang he felt in his heart as he watched them really brings him down, this was what he was avoiding and it seems it's true after all.

Vincent remembered himself muttering a quick sorry as he rushed of the room not wanting to spend another time with the couple.

Ever since he saw them hugging in front of Jamie's apartment, he couldn't take the moment out of his mind. The thought that Liam is Jamie's caregiver or better still-worst his boyfriend haunt him.

He didn't want to share the older with anyone yet he felt like he had no right to keep him only to himself. The past four days, he had stared at his phone wanting to call Jamie or waiting maybe the older will called him, he would have rushed over without hesitation but none ever happened.

He had no courage to see the older with fear that he might want them not be anything more than just being friends. But him reading more about the cgl while at the basketball court training with his teammates had made him realised he didn't want Jamie to experience all that with just anyone who isn't him.

He is feeling possessive over the older and he couldn't help it. He want him to himself only and he was ready to do that that he rushed over to Jamie's apartment believing he should have gotten home. It was over hour when he didn't see Jamie getting back to his apartment that he had decided to look for him in his school and had seen him almost hugging another man right there in his daughter's classroom.

Jamie sniffles again as Vincent felt so worried holding the older's hand to check if he indeed hurted his hand when he made to close the door.

"I am so sorry, I shouldn't have closed the door on you like that, I just-"

"You just?"

Vincent not knowing what to say as he just stare at Jamie who was also looking at him. He could noticed the hurt and sadness in his eye and he wondered if it's from him trying to ignore their conversation and leave or something else.

Jamie removes his hand from Vincent's grip wiping his tears away. "I am fine."

"Jamie-"

"You know if you hate me, you can atleast give me a much better reason than this. A much better one that will convince me that I indeed deserve not to be by your side again. Not just this, it seem so flimsy to me because I don't know what makes you think Liam is my-"

"He is not?" Vincent heard a bit skeptical.

"Ofcourse he is not, he has his own littl-ugh is this really the reason you are giving for being away for days?"

"I waited for you. And you didn't show up as promised only for you to come and said this?" Jamie said looking up at Vincent.

Realising he probably had overthink things and Jamie was sad because he didn't call him as he had promise, Vincent felt he had disappointed the older as he held his hand to get his attention. Jamie moved his hand away not allowing him to touch him.

"It's okay, I totally will understand whatever your reasons might be that you don't want to be friends with me again, just don't conclude things on your own like this." Jamie said looking at Vincent.

"Jamie, can we talk somewhere else? Your apartment maybe." Vincent asked realising they are still outside the school building and didn't want to call much attention to them. "Please" Vincent added when Jamie didn't reply him."

"Okay" Jamie answered after a few seconds of silence.

The ride to Jamie's apartment was silent. With Jamie looking out of the window all through the ride back to his home.

Vincent felt guilty for it. Inasmuch as he wanted to talk to the older, he knew he should give him some time to himself at that moment knowing how sensitive Jamie was, he doesn't want to starts the conversation in the car.

Both entering the house as Vincent took off his shoes wearing the slippers Jamie as gave him to wear the other day he was in his house, he turned to saw Jamie sitting down on the one person sitter couch in his livingroom, his back against Vincent.

"Jamie" Vincent called softly as he walked towards him standing in his front. The older didn't reply making Vincent worried that he really was indeed angry with him as he squat down in his front. "Jamie" he called again.

"You said you what to talk, what is it? Is it the part where you say you realised you can't continue being friends with me or something?" Jamie asked the brokenness in his voice not vague but clear enough for Vincent to feel it.

Feeling confused with everything not knowing what to say knowing he had misunderstood the whole situation leading him to not calling the older who in turn had misunderstood his disappearance thinking he wanted to leave him and not have anything to do with him anymore.

Vincent lean in to kiss Jamie who pushed him away from as he stands up walking away from him. "What did you think you are doing? Are you trying to make me feel more worst than I already am?"

Vincent stood up turning towards Jamie who seemed more unrelaxed and broken. "Jamie."

"Just leave okay? If you don't want me you don't have to treat me so nice. You are going to end up leaving and making me feel empty anyway. Why did I have to feel this way about you? Why did I have to be like this?" Jamie started to cry as Vincent approached him holding his by his shoulder.

Jamie trying his best to free himself from him, not wanting his touch.

"Jamie, listen to me. I never said I was leaving you, I am not leaving okay?." Vincent tried to explain.

Jamie not listening as he still wanted to free himself. "Stop lying. You left and came back after almost five days. You are definitely going to leave again."

Vincent a bit-forceful made Jamie to stay in a place as he turned him towards himself, finally getting his attention as both stares at eachother. "I won't leave you Jamie! I was stupid okay. I was jealous when I saw him hugging that day, I-I thought, I thought he was your caregiver and I didn't know how to react to that because I wanted to be that to you. Your caregiver."

"W-what?" Jamie asked not knowing how to react to what Vincent just said to him.

Vincent sighed releasing his grip from Jamie but still looking at him. "I like you Jamie. I really do. A-and I got jealous. I hated the way he touched you so close, and the way you both look at eachother, I-I just don't know what to do about it."

"These past days I wasn't able to see you or talk to you seems like one of the hardest days of my life. I wasn't myself at all. I couldn't concentrate in anything. Not in school or practice. My mind was filled with your thoughts wondering what you are doing, if you are alone or w-with him..."

Vincent looked looked down not being able to hold his gaze with Jamie any longer. "The day I left, I saw him get down from his car and hug you, and I just-I really like you Jamie, alot, and I was so jealous seeing you with someone else I tried to create distance between believing it will calm me down a bit but it just made things worst. I really missed you alot. I has rushed here to see you" Vincent finished his statement as he glance at Jamie who looked really speechless yet astonished.

Did he found his confession ridiculous and stupid? Vincent wondered not being able to read the older's expression.

"S-sorry, I-"

"Liam is just my friend. He also knew about my secret, actually he was the only one who knew about it, the first person I told about it but you got everything wrong. I really had nothing to do with him. He has his own girlfriend. He was just being a good friend and worried about me."

"And the day you saw him arrived at my place, he saw you too. He knew about you. He had came over because I called him earlier that day. He was just worried and had came to my place just to make sure I was fine." Jamie explained calmly looking down at his feet.

Vincent looked up as Jamie walked closer to him holding his hands in his. "D-does that mean you don't feel repulsed by what you found out about me?"

"I told you already I didn't. Rather than thinking it's weird and I found it cute also. And I- I figured what it was on my own. I am never going to judge you Jamie. I promise to always support and be by your side always. I will always protect you from everything, I promise." Vincent said moving a bit more closer to Jamie.

Jamie stares at Vincent as he released his hand from Vincent's grip. "Why me? I am not even that perfect. T-there are lots of people are there who are more mature and confident in themselves and not a gullible and sometimes childish like me"

"I really want to be with you. If you think you are not perfect, believe me I am not too. I believe no one is. But we could be there for eachother and work towards the perfection together." Vincent replied the older who still seems skeptical about the whole situation.

"So y-you, you-"

"Let me be your caregiver Jamie."

"..." Jamie slowly released his hand from Vincent walking away from him. "What are you talking about? You know you can't just say something like that right? You don't have to say so because you feel that's what I needed. I am fine."

"I need you too Jamie. Maybe I probably sound selfish right now but I need you too so much. I want you."

"V-vincent"

"I want to be your caregiver Jamie."
