Chapter 9

Vincent couldn't contain how excited he was when the older had told him to come over. Judging from the way his friends had watched me weirdly as he rushed towards the restroom to take his bath and get rid of the sweats before changing into a new outfits.

Now dressed up in an olive green bomber jacket, white t-shirt, grey joggers, and white sneakers. Vincent stood in front of a mini apartment along the roll of apartments down the street.

Vincent breathe in as he pressed on the doorbell silently hoping he had came to the right apartment. He had figured this could be Jamie's place remembering the older had told him the other day he dropped him up the street that his apartment is the third one from their exact location that day. So he had figured this could be it.

Vincent was about pressing the doorbell was again when it clicked opened revealing pretty cute older boy Vincent had thought about almost throughout the week.

Vincent wasn't lying when he told Jamie on phone he was waiting for his calls. He really was though he had no idea why he was that eager to get the call from him. But one thing he is sure of is it's all started with his discussion with his friends on his birthday that leads him to thinking what he really felt about the older to him awaiting his calls.

It took him all his willpower yesterday being Friday not to went to his daughter school and see him by giving him an excuse he came to pick up Chanel. He was unable to because he had to attend his volleyball game practice and him being the captain. He can't miss it.

But now he is finally getting to meet the older boy he had thought of for a whole four long days.

Inasmuch as Vincent was so excited to finally meet Jamie again, he couldn't help but noticed how puffy and red his face was. Vincent needs no specialist to tell him the reason why.

Jamie had cried.

He felt his heart ache because of this wondering what could had made him cry. And if that was the reason Jamie had called him over in the first place. This makes him felt weird in his stomach as he looks up at Jamie with a smile.

"Hi."

"H-hi" Jamie replied softly also looking at Vincent with a flushed face. He did look happy to see Vincent at his house. "Come in?" He asked.

"Yeah, I will loved to." Vincent reply as Jamie moved away from the door giving him entrance into his apartment.

Vincent entered the apartment as he heard Jamie closed the door after him. Taking a look at the apartment which looks modest and clean more than he had expected.

It's a mini studio apartments, with the kitchen being a look through with the livingroom, Vincent had guess the only other door in the house must have been the bedroom.  "Your apartment is.. lovely." Vincent complimented as he turned back to Jamie who happens to be looking at him.

Vincent watched as Jamie flushed looking down at his feet embarrassed for being caught staring. "T-thanks."

Vincent smiled as he watched the older. Vincent can't help but realised how cute he was when he seemed flushed and embarrassed. Trying to ease the tension among them, he cleared his throat catching Jamie's attention who looked up at him.

"You told me to come over to just stand like this?" Vincent asked with a smile making Jamie flushed more.

"S-sorry, I a-actually told y-you to come b-because I-I—"

"Can I sit first and maybe a water?" Vincent cut in interrupting Jamie has he realised how nervous he seems to be.

"Oh, I am so sorry. I-I will get you a coffee? T-that seem okay right?" Jamie asked as Vincent nods.

Vincent didn't mind the coffee, he actually wanted to stay longer, he had a feeling he might have to go when the older finished telling him what he has to say but Vincent wants to stay with him a little bit more. Maybe having a coffee with him might help.

He might as well asked if he can wash the coffee cup by himself when he is done so he could linger around a bit.

Jamie rushed towards his kitchen hurriedly as Vincent took time to check Jamie's livingroom well.

Despite how bright and lively the room was due to the room being painted with a wisp of blue and pink. Vincent can't help but realised how lonely the room seems to be. Vincent almost convinced himself Jamie doesn't have anyone around him if his gaze haven't landed on the single 3d art of a greenish old lady on the wall which had a small photo card pasted on it and it been the only photo in the whole livingroom.

Compared to Vincent house whose wall his almost covered in photo frame of him, his parents and daughter. Vincent heart ache with thoughts that the older had been lonely all alone.

Maybe that's why he was crying earlier?

Vincent can't imagine how miserable he would have been if he doesn't have anyone around him. He can't even sleep alone in his not to talk of having a whole house alone to himself with no one to see or talk to.

That was the reason he was still living with his parents despite the fact that his mother had suggested him to get an apartment and live alone, he refused because he can't bare been lonely.

Vincent walked towards the photo card pasted on the wall, it's a picture of Jamie and two other people, a guy and a lady. Vincent recognized the guy to be the owner of the school his daughter attend.

"Ouch!"

Vincent holy, turning towards the kitchen on hearing Jamie winced as he rushed towards where he was.

Jamie squatted to the ground looking down at his left hand he was holding with his right hand.

"Are you okay?" Vincent almost immediately mentally slapped himself for asking such a silly question when he could clearly sees he is not okay.

Vincent could see the hot steam oozing out from the coffee maker machine as he concluded Jamie must have hurts himself while making the coffee.

Vincent pulled Jamie up as he walked him over to the sink pouring cold water over his injured hand making Jamie to wince. Vincent looked at the older to realised he is almost crying.

Cute

Vincent shakes his head as he turned the older to himself wiping his tears, "hey, calm down. I am sure the pain will go down in no time. Do you have any first-aid box or medicine I can apply to fasten the healing process?" Vincent asked.

"R-room" Jamie said almost in a whisper.

"Uhh?" Vincent asked a bit confused. Not hearing what Jamie said clearly.

"M-med in Jamie's room." Jamie replied again almost in a whisper, but Vincent heard him this time.

"It's in your room?"

Jamie nodded biting down on his lower lip, which Vincent found unavoidably cute.

Vincent walked Jamie to the livingroom making him sit down as he squat down in front of him. "Sit here. Where is the medicine? I will get it for you."

"B-bathroom" Vincent nods as he stands up walking towards Jamie's room. Not bothering to look around, Vincent made to walk into the separate door in the room he assumed to be the  bathroom when he stopped he noticed something which had spiked his interest.

A makeshift fort, made in a camp-bed-like setting, the clothing used being all pink and blue with the numerous, several colored pencils, plushies and stuffed animals that litters all over the fort is indeed something that will made you look twice if not trice when seen.

Vincent didn't get to look for long when he noticed another presence in the room, turning to see Jamie standing by staring at him. Vincent can't help but noticed the expression on his face as he looked at him.

He looks scared.

Vincent smiled as he turned to him, "I thought I told you you to wait there, and I will get the first aid real quick."

"Sowwie...Ja-I..." Jamie trails making Vincent noticed how nervous he looked.

"Wait a minute" Vincent said as he walked into the bathroom immediately catching glance of the first aid box sitting on top of bathroom sink. Vincent quickly picked it up as he returned back into the room to see Jamie already sitting down on his bed.

He was staring down at his hand not even noticing Vincent presence, seem like he was in deep thoughts.

Walking towards him as he sat down beside him on the bed seem to caught his attention as he looked up at Vincent. Vincent smiled as he held his scalded hand, opening the first-aid to bring out the appropriate cream to apply.

Jamie watched him in silence as he treated his hand. "...."

Few minutes later, Vincent is done as he blows some air on the bruise with his mouth. "I think it's okay now. Do you want us to get back to the livingroom and talk about what you wanted to tell me?"

Vincent was surprised when Jamie withdraw his hand he is still holding as he looked down at it not replying him.

"Are you okay?" He asked wondering what's going on.

Vincent watched as the older bite down on his lower lip still not replying. Vincent gasped in shocked when he realised what's going on as he noticed the droplets of tears falling down from Jamie's eyes to his hand.

Vincent started to get worried thinking the older is hurt somewhere else as he held his face turning it to himself. "Jamie..what's wrong?"

Jamie shakes his head as he made to turn is face away but Vincent held him by his slipper arms turning him fully to himself.

"Hey, tell me what's wrong? You can't tell me there is nothing wrong when you are crying like this."

Jamie cries softly as he looks down slowly. "A-are you also going to pretend like you didn't see anything?"

"What?" Vincent asked confused of what Jamie was talking about.

"Y-you also saw it and didn't say anything. Y-you also don't want to talk about it, y-you-" Jamie choked on his words as he covered his face with his palms as he continues to cry.

Vincent so confused with everything not knowing what to say, but seeing Jamie feeling so broken while crying hurt him as he pulled the older to himself hugging him so tight.
