Revision of Chapter 3.

"Huh," Disha exhaled roughly after Rafaela and Dena exited her room, slamming the door shut once again.

It wasn't that she was incapable of retort, but Disha was too exhausted to entertain those two unstable individuals. Whenever Rafaela and Dena spoke, Aresha would simply consider it as fleeting as the wind.

However, not wanting to prolong matters, she eventually gave in to Rafael's and Dena's wishes.

At that moment, Disha abandoned her intention to rest and sought out Doctor Anna. Stepping out of her room slowly, she immediately locked eyes with Rafaela and Dena at the end of the corridor, their stares full of intimidation, commanding her to promptly visit the CEO.

And as Disha made her way there, Rafaela and Dena followed at a safe distance, observing as she entered Doctor Anna's room. They quickly pressed their ears against the door, attempting to eavesdrop on the conversation within.

"Sorry, Doctor Anna, there's something I need to tell you," Disha said, complete with a gesture to the mother indicating that someone was eavesdropping outside.

"Go ahead," Doctor Anna responded, understanding her daughter's signal.

"I feel incapable of handling this case, I want to step down. Instead, it would be better for Doctor Anna to choose team one," Disha elaborated, truly indifferent to being replaced. In terms of healing, she was capable of treating anyone. There was nothing special, everyone was a patient to Disha.

"Learn to take responsibility, if you are unable, then learn, don't hand it off to someone else," replied Doctor Anna with such wisdom.

A response that made Rafaela and Dena outside clench their fists tightly. With things like this, they wouldn't be able to oust Team 5.

After their conversation ended, Disha exited. Outside, she no longer saw Rafaela and Dena.

The bespectacled girl then sighed with relief, quickly returning to her room to rest.

Time moved on.

At 9 p.m. sharp, Disha woke from her slumber, having slept with her head resting on the work desk. After performing surgeries, they were indeed afforded some rest.

She groped the desk for her glasses. Before she could rise, her cell phone vibrated, signifying an incoming message.

It was from her mother, who was surely in the CEO's office of the hospital at this moment.

*Sweetheart\, mama will be home\, Papa's come to pick me up. It's drizzling tonight\, wear your warm jacket\, my love*. Anna wrote in the text message.

Meanwhile, Disha could only stare blankly at her phone's screen. Fifteen years had passed, and she was still forced to live in hiding. As long as her family's enemies were at large, her life would always be in danger.

She longed to know who that person was, to unveil their identity and lure them out. But the family's concerns and her parents' fears forced Disha to remain silent, to endure her situation.

Living and being looked down upon by others.

Disha exhaled roughly once more, adjusting her glasses so they wouldn't fall. Then she rose from her seat and headed to the VVIP room.

There, the patient she had operated on that afternoon was resting. The patient had been moved to a care room, and Disha wanted to make sure everything was alright.

Not just anyone was allowed in this room, only the responsible Team 5 and family members.

Upon reaching the room, Disha could finally closely observe the man lying unconscious there. His body was hooked up to various tubes to help him keep fighting for life, with several medical devices actively monitoring each organ.

On the identity data, Disha read the name Rayden Carter, 26 years old.

There was also a man waiting faithfully. Disha knew he was this patient's personal assistant, Samuel.

"Good evening, Sir. Please allow me to check on him," Disha said politely, bowing her head as she requested permission.

However, her unimpressive demeanor made Sam wary. Could someone like this really be trusted to tend to his master properly? Fearful of a mishap by this inept nurse aggravating his master's condition, Sam asked, "Isn't there another nurse or doctor who can check on my master?"

And Disha was accustomed to being underestimated.

"I apologize, Sir. I will not undertake any interventions, just a simple examination," Disha explained.

"Don't take long, and leave afterwards."

"Understood, Sir."

After getting permission, Disha began her duties, but Sam's scrutinizing gaze never left her.

He continued to watch her intently, vigilant.

But it didn't diminish Disha's dexterity in the slightest; she continued to jot down some crucial observations in her small notebook, then slipped it back into her coat pocket.

Once her task was complete, Disha intended to leave the room. She was about to bid farewell to Sam when she suddenly hesitated, noticing something odd.

On the edge of the seat where Sam sat, a neatly placed jacket caught her eye. Disha could clearly see the gold-button with a black eagle emblem at its center.

Her heart skipped a beat.

That button matched one from the archenemy of her family. When Disha was young, a man had nearly killed her. At that moment, Anna had fought back fiercely, managing to rip a button from his shirt.

A button that looked remarkably similar to this one.

Sam was still wearing his jacket, which clearly meant the jacket belonged to Rayden Carter.

*Damn it! Could this man be linked to him?* Disha pondered.

But her thoughts were shattered when Sam's stern voice suddenly cut through...

"What are you gawking at? If you're done here, leave!"

Startled, Disha quickly averted her gaze from the jacket at the sofa's edge and bowed to Sam.

"Yes, Sir," she replied, then she exited the room.

Yet Disha was certain that she would return, to validate her suspicions.

If this Rayden Carter had ties to their family's enemy, then Disha wouldn't hesitate to settle the score.

Even as she left the room, Disha's fists remained tightly clenched.
