Episode 5

Disha tirelessly provided the best care for Rayden, wishing for him to awaken from his prolonged coma.

The bespectacled nurse also adopted acupuncture techniques, fervently hoping her efforts would stir the man to consciousness.

Meanwhile, Samuel relentlessly pressured the hospital to deliver top-notch care. He kept Rayden's condition a secret from the family, who believed Rayden was merely abroad.

Knowing he couldn't hide the truth forever, Samuel's urgency for the hospital to revive the young master only grew.

But Samuel didn't trust Disha's involvement in the treatment.

As far as he knew, Dr. Anna was the one applying acupuncture to Rayden, not Disha.

When Anna feigned performing the technique, she requested Samuel leave the room, leaving her alone with Disha.

Observing her only child expertly perform acupuncture, Anna noted Disha's perfection in medicine contrasted with her unfortunate personal life.

*Forgive me\, Sha*\, Anna thought woefully\, but Disha's well-being trumped carrying the Dude family name.

As Disha administered acupuncture, Rayden's eyes fluttered open, fleetingly capturing the image of a woman inserting needles into him, but they soon closed again.

Thirty minutes passed, marking five days of the same therapy from Disha.

"Mama's proud of you, sweetheart," whispered Anna, mindful to speak softly even when alone, not wanting others to overhear.

Disha returned a faint smile, yearning to embrace her mother but instead resolved to be strong, not wanting to deepen her sorrow.

She looked back at her patient, noticing Rayden's eyes moving as if he were on the verge of waking.

"Dr. Anna," Disha called.

Anna turned towards her daughter's gaze and also noticed the patient seemed close to regaining consciousness.

"Stimulate him, Sha, hold his hand," directed Anna, and Disha complied immediately.

Her grip tightened on Rayden's hand, a touch deeply felt by the man.

Her grasp intensified purposefully until Rayden's eyes truly opened, rousing him from the coma.

The woman in glasses beamed, to her, Rayden's awakening symbolized a new hope in life. He was the one who could lead her to confront her family's nemesis.

Meanwhile, Rayden squinted, adjusting to the light invading his eyes. He scanned the room, noting two women in distinct uniforms – one in a white doctor's coat and the other in typical nurse attire.

A mature beauty stood behind the bespectacled young woman with an encompassing smile gripping his hand.

Feeling uncomfortable, Rayden tried to speak amidst his grogginess, his body felt too heavy to move.

"Step back," he managed, his voice barely more than a breath. Neither Anna nor Disha could discern his words clearly.

"What?" Disha pressed, leaning closer, eager to hear what Rayden would utter now that he was free from critical condition.

"Step back," Rayden repeated, a tad clearer.

Disha's eyes widened.

"Move back a bit, my eyes hurt looking at you so close," Rayden finally said, prompting Disha to swiftly release his hand and retreat a few steps.

She lowered her gaze to the floor, avoiding his eyes.

*I'm accustomed to this treatment; no need for heartache\,* Disha told herself.

Anna, having heard the remark too, simply swallowed hard and stepped forward to take over the patient's care without showing concern for her daughter's feelings.
