💭Aurora Narrating💭

So, the bedroom door closed, and we discussed where we would go. We headed to the elevator. I entered a state of complete silence. I didn't know what to say or anything to comment on. I was embarrassed enough to avoid certain things.

We arrived in front of the elevator, and luckily for us, it quickly reached our floor. We entered, and the silence was still there when suddenly Bernardo began to approach me. I backed away until I was against the elevator wall, and he didn't stop. My breathing started to get very heavy.

He came very close to me and placed his hands on the wall. His face was close to mine, my breathing continued very heavy, I was sweating, my heart almost pounding out of my mouth, and when he noticed, he placed his hand on my face, and I got hot with shame. He was going to kiss me, his look showed how much he wanted to kiss me at that moment, but I couldn't let him, or I would fall apart right there.

"Aurora, please don't do this..."

I spoke softly; I was utterly shy, and I knew that kiss could change a lot. I'm not one to go around making out with just anyone. I've only kissed one person so far, and I could easily fall in love; I know myself and knew what all of this could become for me later.

"Please, Bernardo..."

I begged again, and he stood there still, his breathing starting to get heavy, and he didn't seem to want to leave my side.

"Bernardo: I won't if you don't want me to... I won't force you to do anything, Aurora."

"Aurora: So please don't do that, not now, not here, not today..."

He starts to caress my cheek with his warm hand, and I continue there, frozen, with my hands clenched, unable to take my eyes off him. But I knew one thing: I couldn't kiss him, not even then.

I kept asking myself why I couldn't act normally around him. If it were another time and another person, I would have at least punched and run away from here.

Bernardo moved away from me, and I stood there until we got out of the elevator... We got in the car and drove to the restaurant in silence. I wanted to go back to the room and lock myself in, but I was so hungry that I had to pretend that hadn't bothered me, to forget that nothing had happened.

So we arrived at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the beach, sat down at a table, and I sat there admiring the beach, trying not to think about what had happened before.

"Bernardo: What are you going to eat, Aurora?"

He snaps me out of a trance where I was making myself turn my face to where he was, in this case, sitting in front of me.

"Aurora: Anything that doesn't have fish or seafood."

"Bernardo: Any allergies?"

"Aurora: I just don't like it; for me, the taste is so bland..."

"Bernardo: Okay, any drinks?"

"Aurora: If you have it, I'd like a passion fruit juice, please."

I fiddle with my fingers and legs, I was nervous and didn't know how to control the situation.

"Bernardo: Nervous? Hahaha"

"Aurora: Well, no, it's just that passion fruit juice is my favorite; unlike most people, passion fruit can get me excited..."

"Bernardo: I understand, as you wish."

Bernardo placed the orders, and I turn my face back to continue looking at that landscape that looked like those Google images but infinitely more perfect up close.

"Bernardo: The view is beautiful, right?"

"Aurora: Yes... very beautiful."

I turn to him again, and I couldn't answer him without looking into his eyes, but I was still embarrassed and trying to disguise it all the time.

"Bernardo: After lunch, want to go for a walk on the beach?"

"Aurora: It could be, but I don't want to stay long; I need to finish my thesis..."

"Bernardo: Can't you leave that for later?"

"Aurora: I can't; I need to present it in a few days, and I need to study to make a perfect presentation."

"Bernardo: I see, you seem very dedicated, did you like the course?"

"Aurora: I don't think I would choose another profession that I fit in as well as this one."

Even when he brought up subjects, it made me feel more at ease. I liked that good feeling I sometimes got being near him.

"Bernardo: That's good... When does it end?"

"Aurora: I still have some tests to take, and the presentation in a few days, but I'm still getting my diploma this year."

"Bernardo: What do you intend to do after you have your diploma in hand?"

"Aurora: Continue studying and get a job, I would like to do some postgraduate studies."

"Bernardo: I understand, you like to study, but you won't need to get a job being my wife."

"Aurora: It seems like I'm going to be supported by you; I'm not that kind of girl if that's what you think of me."

"Bernardo: So work for me..."

"Aurora: What does Biomedicine have to do with your company?"

"Bernardo: Nothing, but I'd be happy if you were interested in working at my company to be close to me."

"Aurora: Sorry, but if it's up to me, I won't even go near your company, and besides, I'm a biomedical scientist; I want to work where I like, so don't even try to say that I'm going to be supported by you..."
