💭Aurora Narrating💭
I was almost at the car when I felt Bernardo pull my arm, turning me to face him.
Aurora: Let me go... or I'll scream!
I glared at him, trying to free my arm from his grip... He let go, took a breath, and stared at me seriously.
Bernardo: We're going together. I already said we're going on this trip, whether you like it or not.
He grabbed my hand and led me to the car where his driver was waiting... At first, I hesitated to get in, but I had already screwed up by marrying him, so I got in the car and sat in the corner near the door, wanting to be as far away from him as possible.
Bernardo: Let's go, Alex. I'll stop by the house first before we head to the airport.
I remained silent, pretending I wasn't there... Then, after a while, we arrived at a super luxurious condominium, and at the end of it was his house... Alex, the driver, stopped in front of the house.
Bernardo: Let's go in, Aurora. Change your clothes so we can go to the airport.
Aurora: With what clothes? I couldn't even bring my suitcase.
Bernardo: You don't have to worry about that... You'll have everything new now, even new clothes.
Aurora: What do you mean? Are you crazy? I already have my things; I don't need new ones.
Bernardo: You could say that, you could think I'm crazy... Now come on!
He got out of the car, and I watched him enter the house. I didn't understand anything; something was wrong. He didn't seem like he had married me out of obligation. He seemed to be enjoying all of this. There's something else they didn't tell me... Shit! Why did I agree to this stupidity?
(Imagine the house)
I got out of the car and stared as the house seemed to grow larger with every passing moment... I entered the house, and a very kind lady with a smile on her face approached me, carrying a medium-sized gray suitcase.
Agatha: Hello, ma'am. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Agatha. I'm here to serve you. If you need anything at all, just call me.
Aurora: Hello, Agatha. My name is Aurora, and it's a pleasure to meet you. Right now, I just want to know where "my room" is, please.
She guided me through the house to my room upstairs... I couldn't help but admire everything there. It was beautiful.
(The kitchen)
(The main living room)
(The dining room)
(My bedroom)
(My closet)
I was scared; it was all so new...
(Private pool)
(Backyard)
The house had more rooms and other areas, but I didn't want to notice them since I was just going to stay locked in my room and only come out for college or to eat.
I immediately grabbed the suitcase Agatha had left for me on the bed, and when I opened it, I was a bit confused. Those couldn't be my clothes; they didn't match my style. But I had no other choice. I picked out an outfit, took off my dress, grabbed a towel I saw in the closet, and went to the bathroom to take a long shower.
I stood under the shower for a while, crying in disbelief at the stupidity I had committed. But I wouldn't let this get me down. I would continue my life and pretend I wasn't married. I would ignore Bernardo, and in time, I would ask for a divorce... Yes, a great plan... Lost in my thoughts, I heard someone calling me from the bedroom. I finished my shower and stepped out wrapped in the towel, thinking it might be Agatha. But when I came out of the bathroom, I was startled. It was Bernardo standing there.
Bernardo: I thought you were ready... Let's go; hurry up, or we'll miss our flight.
His eyes scanned my body with a look of desire, sending shivers down my spine.
Aurora: Get out of the room now... Go alone; I don't want to go.
Bernardo: You're coming with me, yes.
He took a step towards me, his expression serious, and I instinctively took a step back.
Aurora: Are you going to force me?
At that moment, Bernardo started walking towards me. I felt a surge of fear and backed away, wanting him to stop, but it wasn't much use. I found myself pressed against the wall, and he stopped in front of me, placing his hands on the wall and leaning his face close to mine.
Bernardo: You're coming with me, willingly or not. You will get on that plane, do you hear me?
Frightened, I nodded. He looked at me for a moment longer and then left the room... As soon as he was gone, I rushed to the door, locked it, and went to the bed. Lying there, staring at the ceiling, I began to cry, thinking, "This is where the real nightmare begins."
I swallowed my tears, got up, and went to the closet to get dressed, imagining that Bernardo might come back and call for me. I wanted to avoid him coming into my room again... Once I was ready, I grabbed the same suitcase since I didn't have any other clothes and went down to the living room.
(Imagine Aurora)
As I reached the living room, I saw Bernardo was already there. When he saw me, he looked at me in a way that made me uncomfortable.
Aurora: Why do I have to go? Let me stay home; I need to study for my thesis; I even have a presentation...
I was still trying to say something to avoid going with a person I didn't know.
Bernardo: You'll study and present it remotely... Now let's go!
He turned and walked towards the front door. I took a deep breath and saw Agatha standing there. I gave her a smile.
Agatha: Goodbye, ma'am.
Aurora: Goodbye, Agatha... Do you happen to know where we're going?
If she knew, at least I could prepare myself during the flight for what awaited me.
Agatha: I'm sorry, ma'am, I don't know...
I sighed deeply, unsure of what to expect. Before I could turn to leave the house, I heard Bernardo yelling at me.
Bernardo: Let's go!
Aurora: I'm coming!
I followed him outside to the car and found him waiting for me at the door. When he saw me, he opened the door for me to get in... I got into the car and again sat near the door, as far away from him as possible. He got in right after me.
Aurora: Where are we going?
I asked without looking at him.
Bernardo: I have business to take care of... And you're coming with me. You'll find out where we're going soon enough.
Aurora: I insist, why can't I stay?
This time I looked at him as I spoke. His expression remained serious.
Bernardo: Because you're my wife, and you go where I go.
After hearing that, I fell silent and looked forward again, occasionally glancing out the window at the passing scenery during the drive.
