New Vengeful Life - Taekook

The air in the arena was thick with tension as the battle between Taehyung and Yugyeom began. The Haneul subordinates stood in a rigid circle around the field, their cold, furious stares locked onto Yugyeom. True to their word, they had scattered an entire arsenal across the ground—blades, spears, maces, axes, chains, and bows, all waiting for Yugyeom’s grasp. And he took them. He lunged first with a sword, striking fast, the steel whistling through the air in a deadly arc. Taehyung moved like smoke, slipping just out of reach with a tilt of his head. Yugyeom spun the blade again, driving forward with merciless precision, but each time, Taehyung evaded, his body weaving through the attacks with a grace that seemed almost inhuman. Frustration twisted Yugyeom’s face as he abandoned the sword, snatching up a pair of daggers and slashing wildly. Still, Taehyung danced away, untouched, unshaken, as if he had already seen every move before it even happened.
Yugyeom’s fury burned hotter with each failed strike, and he changed tactics. He hurled a spear straight for Taehyung’s chest, but in an instant, Taehyung was gone, the spear embedding itself uselessly in the dirt behind him. Yugyeom snatched up a chain, swinging it viciously in wide arcs, aiming to trap and bind Taehyung’s limbs. But again, the effort was wasted—Taehyung sidestepped effortlessly, his dark eyes calm, almost disinterested. Snarling, Yugyeom grabbed a heavy war hammer and charged, swinging with all his strength. The ground trembled beneath the force of his strike, but it met nothing but air. Before he could recover, a single punch from Taehyung sent him flying back. The breath was stolen from his lungs as his body skidded brutally across the dirt, pain flaring like fire in his ribs. The watching subordinates tensed, their eyes burning with barely restrained rage. But no one dared to intervene.
Still, Yugyeom refused to yield. He wiped the blood from his lips and launched forward again, fists flying in blind desperation. It was no longer about victory—it was about proving he could land even a single hit, that Taehyung was not untouchable. But Taehyung was a storm given human form, slipping past every strike like a phantom. A sharp kick sent Yugyeom sprawling once more. He rolled, scrambling for another weapon, but the moment his fingers curled around the handle of an axe, Taehyung was already there. A devastating backhand threw him hard against the dirt, the impact shaking his bones. His vision blurred. He could hear the furious whispers of the Haneul subordinates around them, their hatred for Yugyeom thick in the air. But as he gasped for breath, forcing himself onto shaking arms, Yugyeom knew the truth—Taehyung was beyond him. This wasn’t just skill. It was something more. Something terrifying.
