Chapter 12 - Running Away
It haunted my dreams, but also my nightmares.
The voice of the only man who listened to me for me, not for anything else.
I turned my head and I couldn't believe it.
The night that Cade was conceived looped in my head over and over again.
The clumsy first-timer gentleman who I listened to and listened to me for hours on end, who was the father of my child, stood in front of me.
He walked towards me, smiling sweetly.
He took my first time, and I haven't had a man inside of me since.
As he reached out to touch my cheek, I pieced it all together.
He is Alex, or Alexander Westwood, CEO of Westwood Technologies. His power expands far across the globe and possesses more money than I could ever wish for.
What if he wants to take my Cade from me?
Just as his fingertips touched my soft cheek, I then backed away and picked Cade up, throwing him over my shoulder.
Lydia Kingsley
Don't know anyone called Lydia, haha! Anyway, got to go!
Francis Wallace
Wait, you can't leave-
However, I had already turned and ran out of the front door.
As Francis turned back to his boss, he was surprised to see how tame he looked.
Francis Wallace
*thinking* Is the President truly that love-sick for this woman?
Francis Wallace
*thinking* I must inform the Madam immediately of the Young Master's identity.
As Cade and I jumped into the taxi and it drove off, I gave out a huge sigh.
Cade Kingsley
Is that guy really my biological father?
Lydia Kingsley
Yes... yes, he was.
Cade Kingsley
And what's a chromosome?
Cade Kingsley
And how do you give it back?
I couldn't help but burst out laughing as I ruffled his hair.
Lydia Kingsley
Oh, Cade... you always know how to lighten up the mood.
Lydia Kingsley
Anyway, make sure to make me extra pretty tonight! I don't want to embarrass your design.
Cade Kingsley
You'd never embarrass any of my designs, Mummy! You're my muse!
This little boy of only ten has his way with words.
Eventually, as night fell, a party venue was slowly filling up with the socialites and the rich.
Upon jumping out of the taxi wearing my dashing red ballgown, accompanied by Cade who was wearing a sharp red tuxedo with intricate hand-sewn patterns, we walked right towards the door.
Guard
Excuse me, you require an invitation to get in here.
Lydia Kingsley
Yes. Here is ours.
Taking it out of my purse, I handed it to the guard who squinted at it.
Guard
I want to contest the ownership of this invitation.
Guard
You clearly can't afford one of these invitations. You came in a taxi!
Lydia Kingsley
I've only recently moved into the country.
Lydia Kingsley
I don't have a car yet.
Guard
You could have hired a limousine.
Cade Kingsley
That's a waste of money, Mister. Besides, we don't need an expensive car to look dashing.
Guard
Who are you, some kid?
Guard
Where is your husband?
That's it. I've had enough.

Mei (I love drama)
First thing I hate about her is, she didn't even leave him a MSG while leaving but it's understandable in her situation.. But later she didn't even try to look for him and didn't give a chance of father's love for that kid.. Even now she only wants to run away instead of sitting and talking to him.. After the talks she had with him, she should have understood him well enough what kinda person he is.. And she says nightmare? Why? All he did was good for her.. I hate such a person who is so selfish enough to not even think of her own child not having father's love.. It's not like he was a scumbag or a bad person..
