Chapter 15 - Saving The Day
Everyone started to look at Arwin a little sceptically while Cade and I appeared to be the ones in the right.
My smart little boy with his smart little tongue.
Suddenly, an arm slung around my waist, bringing me closer into the person in question.
I turned towards the man in question and my eyes opened wide when I saw who it was.
Alex Westwood
Do you have some problem with my woman, Mr Quincy?
Arwin Quincy
Y-Your woman?
Cade Kingsley
The bad man is here...
Lydia Kingsley
What are you-
He then placed a finger across my lips.
Alex Westwood
Shush. Let me handle this, okay?
I frowned and put my arm around his waist, pinching him in the back.
Alex Westwood
Ouch... so violent.
Arwin Quincy
There's no way! Why are you with a woman who had a baxtard child out of wedlock?
At that moment, Cade frowned and took a stand, sprinting right towards my step-father before headbutting him right in the stomach.
He doubled over, coughing until something fell out.
Francis Wallace
Are those...
Francis Wallace
False teeth?
My stepfather had no teeth! The whole crowd burst out laughing as Cade stepped back, fixing his hair.
Cade Kingsley
Serves you right, bad guy! Don't bully my Mummy!
Cade then ran back and hugged around my legs.
Cade Kingsley
I'm sorry for hitting that old teethless uncle. He was being mean.
I smiled and ruffled his head.
Lydia Kingsley
I'm just glad that you didn't hurt your head.
Cade Kingsley
Don't worry, he had a tubby belly! It was like running into a cushion!
The crowd laughed at Arwin before he got up, embarrassed, and left.
Arwin Quincy
Just you wait, Lydia Kingsley!
Cade Kingsley
See? I'm perfectly capable of protecting my Mummy, okay?
Alex Westwood
When does she protect you?
Cade Kingsley
All of the time. From nasty monsters at night to eels.
Lydia Kingsley
It's a long story.
Event Organisers
Miss Kingsley, the auction is going to start soon.
Lydia Kingsley
Right. I'll be right up.
Alex Westwood
The auction? What, are you auctioning off?
Lydia Kingsley
Well, the event organisers said that we'd make the most money if I auctioned a dinner date.
Cade Kingsley
I was against it, so I'm going to bid for it myself.
Lydia Kingsley
Now, now... behave yourself, alright?
Lydia Kingsley
It's nice that you want to donate to charity, but you've got to be mindful of your audience.
Event Organisers
Miss Kingsley.
I then turned and looked up at Alex, realising that he still had his arm around me.
My cheeks flushed as I walked out from it and followed the event organiser onto stage.
Cade Kingsley
Hey, old man.
Alex Westwood
I'm your father, shouldnt you show some respect.
Cade Kingsley
Mummy taught me that respect has to be earnt, not given because of age or class.
Cade Kingsley
But I'll give you one respect point if you bid and win Mummy's date.
Alex Westwood
Didn't you say that you were going to do it?
Cade Kingsley
If I do it, Mummy will get mad at me.
Alex chuckled at his defensive son.
Alex Westwood
Very well. But I was going to do it regardless.

Mei (I love drama)
I am just not liking the fact that Child has so much bad ideas about his dad and no respect at all.. As a mother when she knew he was not at fault, he should have corrected him to at least respect his father.. Even if she wants to live alone her while life widout marrying anyone, ML still doesn't deserve disrespect as he didn't do anything wrong so far..
