Shoyo hummed as he poured hot water on two mugs.
Shoyo
Seems like Koutarou-san kidnapped Kanade-chan again.
Tobio
Seems like they'll really get punished this time, huh?
Shoyo shook his head as he placed the two cups of hot coffee on the table.
Shoyo
Why? It's Koushi-san's fault for leaving Kanade-chan.
Shoyo
And more importantly, Koutarou-san and Keiji-san only "borrowed" them.
Tobio squinted at that, taking a sip of the coffee, sitting prettily on the dining table.
Tobio
You and your teacher share the same braincell.
Shoyo was frying eggs and bacon but dared to turn around to scoff at his fiance.

Tobio

Shoyo grimaced as he placed the plate on the table.

That day, the ocean water is salty, the watermelon is sweet, and the people are sweeter.

Tooru and Hajime thanked Keiji and Koutarou for taking care of Kou.
But that was not the case for Koushi.

Tooru

He exhaled, giving up, but faces up again.

And so, the not-so-settled kidnapping somehow ended up with a swimming--which is the reason why they came here anyway.
As he didn’t plan on getting in the water, Koushi threw on a white linen tank paired with loose, ripped denim shorts to cast off as much heat as possible.
He protected his hair with a yellow bandana, a few wisps still falling across his face.
Whereas Daichi only had on bright blue swim trunks, him purposefully showing off to get Koushi’s attention (as if Koushi didn’t admire his toned body enough as it was).
Daichi
Baby, you know that they would never hurt Kanade. Or let her get hurt.
Koushi
But I just worry you know?
Koushi
I mean, she's our daughter, isn't worrying my job?
Daichi
Yeah, but did you see Kanade's face when they got back?
Daichi
She looked so happy because she played with Kou and Yachiro.
Daichi
There was totally nothing to get worried at.
Koushi pouted and his husband giggled.
By the time they finally managed to finish changing and packed a small bag, the sun was already high in the sky.
Hand in hand, they left out the back door of the airy cottage and followed the stone path through the sand.
Daichi hesitated, watching Koushi sway with every step he took, he looked like an angel with the way the yellow and white seemingly glowed under the bright sunlight.
It was little things like this, where Daichi wanted to capture an image, to bottle up the fondness he felt.
Even after 8 years together, his love had never lessened, in fact, it grew stronger as he continued to live life Koushi’s way: free.
His husband had shown him endless patience as he struggled through his studies.
He even took on extra responsibilities when his job was demanding, and gave him space when his anxiety flared up.
Koushi never held it against him when life seemed to go wrong in every way, instead giving him grace and accepting him as he was, for better or worse.
Koushi made love seem so easy, giving every piece of his heart so genuinely.
Daichi often struggled to express himself, but his husband never minded, reminding him that he loves subtly, his feelings interwoven in the everyday things.
Daichi couldn’t believe how lucky he was.
Koushi realizing Daichi has paused, spun around, arms open wide.
He beamed back at Daichi, him glowing with happiness.
Koushi
You seem happy despite having your daughter kidnapped.
Daichi
She was only borrowed.
Daichi
And it's our fault for leaving her.
Daichi
We could even say that they had babysit her, I'm thankful to them.
Koushi scoffed and gagged at how Daichi's speech sounded.
Koushi
You're such a good person, I don't know why I married you.
Daichi
What do you mean why? It's exactly because I am a good person, that's why.
Koushi
No, no. I definitely married you because you're hot.
Daichi
Okay, acceptable, but seriously?
Koushi intertwined their hands and gently pulled them closer to the sandy beach.
Koushi
Whatever, I still married you.
Kanade
You're such a slowpoke!
The children squealed and giggled, running off to make sand castles.
Tooru and Hajime were already frolicking on the tides.
Koutarou was carrying Keiji on his shoulder and threatening him to dive together.
The beach wasn't as crowded as they all expected, which is good.
The kids can run about and play without them worrying much.
