Chapter 2 - The Accord
Li Wei
You want to become stronger...
The assassin spoke, his voice as frigid as the winter cold.
It pierced through my chest like an icicle, hitting my every nerve.
Aluna Yan
Can you teach me? How to be stronger?
What am I doing? I'm so desperate that I asked an assassin to teach me how to become stronger.
Aluna Yan
I don't want to be bullied anymore. I want to have strength, enough strength to make those horrid men listen to me.
I then looked up at him, my eyes as determined as his once were.
Wang Yan
She's extremely beautiful and can cook! She also has a perfect figure to give birth!
Wang Yan
Take her as your wife and let me go!
Aluna Yan
I don't want to belong to him anymore. I don't want to be a caged bird anymore!
The breath got taken out of my lungs as he lifted the sword from my grandfather's temple.
Wang Yan
G-Good, I'm glad that you accept a great offer when you see one.
Li Wei
I will train you to become just like me. That is what you want, isn't it?
Li Wei
But, the road ahead isn't clean. Your hands will be stained with blood. Your morals won't exist anymore. You will become an assassin...
The silver mask covering half of his face glimmered in the sunlight as he slowly approached me.
He then handed me a small dagger, a weapon sharp enough to take a life.
Li Wei
The first rule of an assassin... no familial attachments.
Wang Yan
W-Wait, that wasn't part of our deal-
He glared angrily at my grandfather who attempted to get up.
He looked at me, watching as my trembling fist clenched around the handle of the blade.
All of the anger, frustration and anguish concentrated in my hand as I ran towards him. I knew just the spot to hit. Right in the artery, where it would deal most damage.
My grandfather didn't have time to dodge. The blade embedded itself into his chest, making him cry out in pain until he fell to the ground, lifeless.
My father's words came back to me. Always wash your blade after a kill.
I took the blade out and wiped it on the grass before handing it back to the assassin.
My expression was unwavering and even if I felt shook, I didn't let it show.
He snatched the blade back and put it away.
I took a glance back at my house and ran towards it. He froze in place and soon saw me emerge with a wrapped up sword on my back.
He stared at me, almost frustrated, and turned around again, walking away.
I chased after him and walked behind him. At our feet were the dead bodies of women, children and men.
The sandy gravel on the ground was stained crimson with their blood. I couldn't help but be shaken but kept a straight face.
I won't allow myself to be bullied anymore. I'm going to explore the world, grow stronger so that everyone will fear the name Aluna Yan!
