She didn’t flinch. “I’m not scared of you,” she said, her voice unwavering despite the unease gnawing at her stomach.

His eyes narrowed, his amusement fading as his expression darkened. “You should be,” he replied, his voice low and firm. “It’s not a matter of fear, Lena. It’s a matter of survival.”

Lena took a step back, her body tense, preparing to walk away from him, but his next words stopped her in her tracks.

“You’re not done with me yet,” he said, his voice almost a whisper, but with a force that held her frozen in place. “And neither am I done with you.”

*Her heart pounded in her chest*

She turned on her heel, her steps firm as she walked toward the door. But as she reached the exit, she paused, her back still to him.

“Don’t come near me again,” she said, her voice low but resolute.

For a long moment, there was silence behind her. Then, she heard him speak, his voice colder than ever.
