The streetlights flickered as Aarya followed Rehan through the empty streets. The night air was thick, laced with a scent of rain that hadn’t fallen yet.
Aarya’s mind was racing.
Why was she trusting this man?

She should have stayed at the café. Should have ignored that text. Should have—
Rehan suddenly stopped.

Aarya’s vision blurred for a split second before the surroundings flickered—
A holographic distortion.
The alley they had been standing in was an illusion.
Behind it stood an old, rusted warehouse, barely holding itself together.

Rehan turned to her, his face unreadable.
