The Silent Watchers – Someone Is Always Watching, but Why?
chapter 5
Her apartment was small but cozy—warm-colored walls, bookshelves overflowing with old novels, a few personal sketches pinned to a corkboard. It was her safe space. But right now, it felt suffocating.
She ran a hand through her hair, trying to shake off the paranoia creeping into her bones.
Maybe she was overthinking it.
Maybe—
Thump.
Her breath hitched.
Aarya’s gaze snapped to the window.
The curtains swayed slightly. The city outside was alive with neon and noise, but something felt… wrong.
Slowly, she stood up.
Her heart pounded against her ribs as she stepped closer, peeling the curtain back just a little—
A shadow moved in the alley below.
A tall figure.
Standing. Watching.
The streetlight flickered, barely illuminating the sharp angles of his face. But she knew that stance.
Araya(fl)
(whispered )Rehan...
Her fingers gripped the curtain tighter.
Why was he here?
And more importantly…
Why did it feel like he wasn’t just looking at the building—
But at her?
She quickly stepped back, letting the curtain fall shut. Her pulse was hammering now, loud in her ears.
Her phone buzzed again.
Her stomach twisted as she grabbed it, already knowing what she’d see.
