After a while, they sat on a bench, catching their breath. Jungkook leaned his head against his arm, his small body warm against him.

“Mama… today is the best day ever,” he said with a happy sigh.

He smiled, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “It’s not over yet.”

His eyes sparkled with curiosity. “There’s more?”
He reached into his bag and pulled out a small, slightly crumpled paper bag. Inside was a chocolate pastry—a rare treat he had saved up to buy just for today.

He gasped. “Chocolate?”

He grinned. “All for you.”

His eyes lit up as he took the pastry and took a big bite. “Mmm! So yummy!” He looked at him and, without hesitation, broke the pastry in half and held it out. “Here, Mama. You eat too.”

Jungkook's throat tightened. Even with so little, he always thought of him first.
He took the piece and smiled. “Thank you, my love.”
As they sat there, eating their little treat and watching the clouds drift by, Jungkook felt something he hadn’t felt in a long time—peace.
No matter how hard life was, as long as he had jihyunnie smile, he could endure anything.
