Big decision

Jungkook’s breath hitched. "Closing? But… why?"
He had spent years here, pouring his hard work into this place.
"It’s not an easy decision," Mr Han admitted. "But with rising costs and fewer customers, keeping this branch open just isn’t sustainable anymore. The good news is, we’re opening another branch in a different city. And I wanted to offer you a position there."
Jungkook blinked, trying to
process his words.
Moving to another city?
He swallowed hard, his mind racing.
He had spent so long trying to rebuild his life, carefully keeping his past behind him. Moving to a new place… it felt like stepping into the unknown again.

"Where is the new café opening?" he asked cautiously.
Mr Han hesitated. "It’s in the Seoul."
His heart pounded. The capital. The very place he had sworn never to return to.
The memories he had buried deep threatened to resurface—the betrayals, the pain, the love that had turned into heartbreak.
But then, another thought struck him.
Jihyun.
His son was growing up. He needed a better future. The small town they lived in had limited opportunities, and the schools weren’t the best. He had already been worrying about his education.
Maybe… this was a sign.
A chance to give jihyun a better life.
But was he ready to face his past again?
He took a deep breath, forcing himself to focus on the present.

"What would my position be there?" he asked.
Mr Han face brightened slightly, as if relieved he was considering it.
"You’ve proven yourself to be responsible and hardworking, Jungkook. I need someone trustworthy to help manage the new café. You wouldn’t just be a worker—you’d be in charge of overseeing the staff, making sure everything runs smoothly. It’s a big step up for you."

His eyes widened slightly. "You want me to be a manager?"
He chuckled. "Well, not officially a manager, but you’d be handling a lot of responsibilities. And, of course, the pay would be better."
Better pay.
That alone was enough to make him consider it.
jihyun’s medical expenses were never-ending. Every fever, every hospital visit drained what little savings he had.
With a higher salary, he could finally provide for him without constantly worrying about money.
But was it worth returning to the city he had left behind?
he bit her lip, staring down at his hands.
Could he really do this?
Mr Han voice softened. "I know this is a big decision, Jungkook. You don’t have to answer right away. Take some time to think about it."
𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐨𝐨𝐤
"Thank you Mr. Han , I think about it ."
