~ Chapter 19 ~
The conversation drifted into silence as they returned to their meal, though there was an unspoken tension in the air.
None of them really knew where Taehyung was going, and though they tried to brush it off, there was a lingering unease in the back of their minds.
They had always thought of him as someone who would endure, who would always stay no matter how badly they treated him.
But this morning, the way he had walked past them, silent and indifferent, had unsettled them. He hadn’t looked broken or defeated. He had looked… free.
For the first time, the triplets were forced to confront a possibility they had never considered before: Taehyung was no longer under their control. He wasn’t waiting for their approval or their attention. He had walked out without a word, and they had no idea if—or when—he would come back.
And in the quiet of the house, that uncertainty began to gnaw at them, a small crack forming in the carefully constructed world they had built around themselves.
Taehyung stood outside Jimin’s house, his heart pounding in his chest.
It had been so long since he’d allowed himself to seek refuge with someone, to feel even a sliver of comfort outside the cold walls of his home.
Taking a deep breath, he knocked softly on the door, hoping he could hide the storm of emotions brewing inside him.
The door swung open, revealing Jimin’s warm smile.
His face lit up upon seeing Taehyung, but it quickly faltered as he noticed the weariness in his eyes, the way he held himself, as if he were afraid he might fall apart at any moment.
Park Jimin
It’s been a while. Come in.
Jimin said, his voice filled with concern.
Taehyung stepped inside, grateful for the warmth and the familiar scent of his home. Jimin led him to the living room, where they sat down. For a moment, there was silence.
Taehyung tried to offer a smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. Jimin saw right through it.
Park Jimin
How’ve you been?
Jimin asked gently, studying his face.
Taehyung forced a small laugh.

Oh, you know… married life. Busy, but it's fine.
