Freya was in the garden, surrounded by flowers and herbs that she cultivated with care. The fresh scent of nature enveloped her, and she allowed herself a moment of peace, appreciating the work she had accomplished. However, this tranquility was interrupted when she saw Orion approaching.
He was covered in blood, a clear sign that the hunt had been successful. Seeing his state, her heart clenched, but a wave of disappointment washed over her. As they met, Orion stared at her for a moment, but Freya couldn't bear his intense gaze and looked away, feeling the tension in the air.
"What are you looking at?" he snapped, his voice gruff and laced with disdain. There was no room for delicacy in his words. The rejection of their marriage still hung between them like a shadow, and it made him even more hostile.
Freya felt a chill in her stomach. "I was just... tending the garden," she replied, trying to stay calm. She didn't want to provoke his anger further, but the way he treated her hurt.
Orion snorted, turning to enter the house. "If you have nothing to say, then don't bother me." He walked past her without looking back, the weight of his words lingering in the air.
Freya stood there, watching him enter. The door closed behind him, and she felt alone again, her heart heavy. She knew that hunting was an important part of their world, but the brutality that always accompanied Orion saddened her.
He headed to the bathhouse, but the marks left by the argument with Freya seemed indelible.
...****************...
Night fell upon the pack, and the atmosphere was filled with laughter and celebration. Freya watched from her bedroom window, her heart heavy as she saw the pack members enjoying themselves around the bonfires. The warmth of the party seemed distant, and the joy of others only accentuated her sadness.
"Freya!" exclaimed Liana, entering the room with a sparkle in her eyes. "Come on, let's join them!"
Freya hesitated, a sense of insecurity washing over her. "They don't want me here!" she protested, remembering the looks from the pack.
"You are the Alpha's mate, sent by the goddess Luna. They won't bother you anymore!" Liana replied with determination.
After a moment of doubt, Freya finally agreed. "Alright!"
As they stepped outside, the party scene was vibrant. The pack was gathered near the bonfires, men and women, children playing and dancing to the sound of cheerful songs. The energy was contagious, but Freya felt a little out of place.
Orion, imposing and distant, was sitting with his Beta. When his eyes met Freya's, they ignored each other.
Liana, noticing her sister-in-law's hesitation, pulled her into the dance.
"Come on, Freya, let's dance!" she exclaimed, and the young woman, still shy, began to loosen up, laughing and having some fun.
Orion, despite his efforts to ignore her, couldn't help but notice the smile that lit up her face. It was a smile that charmed him, but he fought fiercely against that emotion. Seeing other wolves watching her, a discomfort grew inside him.
"You need to mark her!" Lucky said, noticing the attention Freya was receiving.
"I won't do that! She means nothing to me!" Orion replied, trying to hide his discomfort.
"Well, maybe she doesn't matter now! But you're a couple now, it's your duty!" his uncle insisted.
Meanwhile, Freya was enjoying herself alongside Liana. "Thank you for being with me. I've never had a friend!" Freya exclaimed, gratitude evident in her voice.
"You can count on me. I'll help you however I can. By the way, do you want to be stronger, Freya?" she asked.
"How?" Freya inquired, her curiosity growing.
"If you train, you might be able to shift," Liana replied, a glint in her eyes. "If you want, I can help you."
"I want to!" the young woman answered, determination taking hold of her.
"Great! Then I'll introduce you to someone. Come on!" Liana said, leading Freya towards a group of Betas who were chatting.
"Ethan!" Liana called, attracting the attention of a man who stepped away from the group.
"Liana, is everything okay?" he asked, smiling.
"It's all good! This is Freya, the Alpha's mate," Liana introduced.
"Yes, I've heard!" Ethan replied, looking at Freya appraisingly.
"She needs to be trained, and you're the most qualified for that. You've trained other wolves," Orion's sister said confidently.
"But she's not like us," he said with concern.
"We don't know that yet, that's why she needs to be trained. Freya is the daughter of one of the greatest she-wolves we've had in the pack. Her wolf may just be dormant!" Liana exclaimed.
Ethan looked at Freya, assessing her. "Do you really want this? The training is painful!" he warned.
The young woman stared into Ethan's eyes, determination shining in her gaze. "I do!" she exclaimed firmly.
"Great! Be in the forest early tomorrow. I won't wait!" he said, turning and walking away.
Freya looked at Liana, beaming with happiness. The invitation to train was an opportunity she hadn't expected, but it meant so much. Finally, she would have the chance to become stronger and find her place in the pack.
As the night wore on, the young woman, tired from so much excitement, decided to return home.
"Liana, I'm going home," she exclaimed, stifling a yawn.
"Let's go, I'll take you!" her sister-in-law replied, smiling as she accompanied her to the room.
Freya said goodbye and got ready for bed, but the peace of the night was abruptly interrupted. The bedroom door swung open with a bang, and Orion entered, his red eyes glowing in the darkness. He looked like a storm, a force of nature that could not be ignored. A shiver ran down Freya's spine as she saw the intensity in his gaze.
Orion slammed the door shut, and Freya felt her heart pound. He strode towards her, and before she could react, he pressed her against the wall. The force with which he held her waist left her breathless, and with his other hand, he gripped her face wildly.
Freya tried to protest, but the words wouldn't come out. Orion turned her face and, in a move of instinct, ran his nose along her neck, inhaling her scent as if it were an addiction. Then, as if he couldn't contain his primal nature, he kissed her fiercely. Freya tried to break free, but Orion's strength was overwhelming. His wild instinct enveloped her, and the pressure on her skin grew more and more intense. He kissed her deeply, biting Freya's lips violently as if marking his territory.
"Orion, please!" she tried to beg, but her words were swallowed by the fury and desire that consumed him.
Each time she struggled to break free, her resistance only seemed to intensify his need. Desperation grew within her, and finally, when the pain became unbearable, Freya cried out, "Stop!"
Her voice echoed through the room, and as if a spell had been broken, Orion drew back. Confusion washed over his face as he looked at her.
Disoriented and furious, the Alpha stormed out of the room, leaving the young woman alone. She slumped against the wall, the adrenaline still coursing through her veins. Looking down at her arms, she saw red marks where he had held her, and her lips were bruised, a painful reminder of what had just happened.
Freya leaned her head against the wall, her mind spinning in a whirlwind of emotions. What had just happened?
