Episode 4

"Screaming in delight, Sindi darted from the classroom."

Gales of laughter ensued as everyone, including her two friends, found the spectacle amusing.

Meanwhile, Grizelda headed home on her own.

Upon arrival, Grizelda spotted Evelin seated beside their father in the living room. Evelin was busily admiring makeup and an array of new clothing.

"Isn't it just beautiful, Dad? I absolutely love it. Promise you'll buy me more whenever you travel, okay?" exclaimed Evelin, her smile beaming.

"Of course, I'll get you anything you ask for," her father warmly assured.

Having witnessed the scene, Evelin flaunted her new attire at Grizelda as she passed by on her way to her room.

Indeed, it all seemed so unjust to Grizelda.

It was as though Evelin, the stepsister, was treasured like a real daughter, while Grizelda, his actual daughter, seemed relegated to an outsider. Was their father even aware of his current actions? Was he enchanted by their stepmother, or had love rendered him so oblivious that he could no longer distinguish between his stepdaughter and his real daughter?

Once in her room, Grizelda flung herself onto her bed.

"Dad's gone too far. Ever since marrying Aunt Eve, I've been utterly neglected. If only Mom were still here... would she not be furious to see what's become of Dad’s affection? It's as though I'm no longer his child. Am I merely an occupant in this house?" Grizelda murmured, her body curled under the covers as tears trickled down.

A sudden pang of longing for her mother overcame her, and she fetched a family picture from her desk – a photo of the three of them. Herself, her father, and her mother.

"That man... is he even my father anymore? We're like strangers now," Grizelda muttered, cutting her father out of the photo, leaving just her and her mother's image.

She placed the picture back in its frame, now featuring just the two of them.

"This is better," Grizelda said with a slight smile, admiring the new arrangement.

She moved to the window and snipped the remnants of her father's photo into oblivion.

"Goodbye, Dad. I no longer recognize who you are," said Grizelda.

Returning to bed, Grizelda grabbed a mirror and studied her reflection.

"Ughhhhhhh, when will these chubby cheeks slim down?" she asked herself, pinching the plumpness tenderly.

"It's okay, at least I've lost some weight," she comforted herself.

Her father then announced, "Well, I'm off to the office now."

"Okay, Dad," Evelin replied cheerfully, hugging him as he planted a paternal kiss on her forehead, clearly favoring her as his own.

With that, their dad departed, leaving Grizelda without a single gift or even a simple farewell.

"Dad truly doesn't care about me," Grizelda whispered to herself watching from the door as her father left. Irritation surged within her, especially seeing Evelin flaunting the clothes their father had bought.

With a heavy heart, Grizelda returned dejectedly to bed.

"Grizelda! Grizelda! Come here," Evelin summoned.

"Arghhhhhhhh! Now what does she want?" Grizelda grumbled, standing begrudgingly with a sullen face.

"What is it?" Grizelda demanded, facing Evelin.

"Do you see this? Dad gave me these gifts – expensive clothes and makeup; do you have any?" Evelin boasted smugly.

Grizelda glared at her, annoyed that her stepsister had summoned her merely to gloat over her acquisitions.

"So?" Grizelda inquired dryly.

"Hehehe, looks like you received nothing from Dad. He doesn't love you. You're quite pitiable, aren't you?" Evelin taunted, laughing derisively.

Grizelda fought the urge to lash out right then.

[Reward: Slimmer Cheeks]

[Mission Status: In Progress]

"Huh?" Grizelda gasped, momentarily shocked by the sudden prospect of receiving the treasured reward of slimmer cheeks.

Surveying all of Evelin's items, Grizelda already envisioned her scheme to infuriate Evelin.

"So, where's Auntie?" Grizelda inquired.

"Mother is at a social gathering. So today, I get the pleasure of bossing you around. Go fetch me some food," commanded Evelin, lounging on the couch.

Grizelda smirked internally. 'Without your domineering lioness of a mother, it’s a perfect day to turn the tables on you,' she thought with glee.

"Evelin, that dress is just gorgeous," Grizelda complimented, narrowing her eyes in a knowing smile.

"Of course, it is. You must be jealous, right?" Evelin replied with a self-satisfied sneer.

"Hehehe," Grizelda snatched the dress right out of Evelin's hands.
